Unexpected crash test for 2022 Proton X90 in Malaysia, as Waja gets too close for comfort 01

Not many can say they've seen the 2022 Proton X90 in Malaysia yet. But it's something truly rare to hear of anyone rear-ending one, considering the model hasn't even been launched yet.

Video from the scene affords a rather close look at the Geely Haoyue-based SUV, which culminates in a short look at the incident. Fortunately, it looks to be a relatively low-speed accident and no one seems to be injured, save for a couple of bent bumpers.

Previously, the purported X90 was spotted in KL and in Genting Sempah. It's a rather large car that seats seven, and can easily fit a 190cm-tall person in its third row.

At least in China, the Haoyue gets a 1.8-litre petrol engine (184 PS, 300 Nm) plus 7-speed DCT combo, much the same as found in our Proton X70.

The X90 is one of the models earmarked for launch here this year, and being this early in development, specifications are still yet to be confirmed.
