2019 MINI John Cooper Works Countryman

Move aside for this MINI John Cooper Works Countryman because under the bonnet lies a 306 PS beast with an asking price of RM 378,888, imported from the Netherlands.

The JCW Countryman is also powered by the same 2.0-litre TwinPower Turbo engine in the Cooper S albeit with many modifications done to it.

Reinforced crankshafts, a main bearing with extended cross section, specific pistons, connecting rods and a new vibration damper with optimised cooling are just a few of the tweaks that MINI engineers have made to the 2-litre engine.

The compression ratio has also been reduced to cope with the higher boost from the bigger turbocharger, which now adds 76 PS more power.

The new engine now makes 306 PS power output at 5,000 - 6,200 rpm and 450 Nm of torque at 1,750 - 4,500 rpm. The JCW Countryman is capable of making the 0-100 km/h sprint in 5.1 seconds but top speed is limited to 250 kmh.

MINI engineers have paired the beast of an engine to an 8-speed Steptronic Sports Automatic Transmission. Yes, no dual clutch mostly because of the new engine's higher torque.

You get the intelligent Adaptive Suspension exclusively on the JCW Countryman and the car is driven on all 4 wheels thanks to MINI’s ALL4 All-Wheel drive that offers dynamic traction to give you unbridled responsiveness.

Tech wizards will be happy to know that the JCW Countryman is equipped with a comprehensive list of MINI Connected on the inside. Including that of Intelligent Emergency Call, Teleservices, Apple CarPlay as well.
