While Malaysian VIPs are seen stopping ambulances in the name of the safety for the ambulances, Indonesia’s President Joko Widodo’s, or better known as Jokowi, massive convoy of cars was seen in a viral video giving way to an ambulance to pass through first.
This isn’t the first time a video of the president’s convoy making way for emergency vehicles went viral. From what we understand, videos like these are deliberately made viral to make an example for both Indonesians and neighbouring less developed countries like Papua New Guinea.

On the contrary, Malaysian VIPs would also benefit from watching the example that President Jokowi is setting for his country.
According to Detik.com, the video filmed from the ambulance’s perspective reportedly took place when the president was on a visit to Jawa Tengah. The ambulance had to navigate through a road crowded with Indonesians gathered to welcome the president.

An outrider is seen coming up to the ambulance and directing it to move forward while the rest of the convoy including the president’s car were stopped at the side of the road to let the ambulance pass.
This is more than what most Malaysian ministers are doing, but then again, we can’t fault the logic of stopping the ambulance to reduce the risk of an accident from the prime minister’s cars that were coming from the other direction. Right?

There isn’t a time in memory that doesn’t involve staring at cars. After discovering the excitement of watching Schumacher vs Hakkinen, Formula 1 became a major part of life. The love for cars and F1 ultimately led to a job with CAR Magazine. The untimely death of the magazine meant a hiatus from cars at lifestyle women’s magazine Marie Claire before another opportunity came knocking again.
