![VinFast’s battery partner has unveiled a 10-minute-fully-charged EV battery 01]()
StoreDot, an Israeli lithium-ion battery company who has teamed up with VinFast, has announced what the company describes as “world’s first” silicon-dominant battery that is capable to be fully-charged in 10 minutes.
The company’s fast charging cylindrical cells utilize a 4680 format (46 mm in diameter, 80 mm in length) that is said to be favoured by EV makers like Tesla. The cylindrical cell samples are now filling up the production lines at EVE Energy, StoreDot’s manufacturing partner in China.

StoreDot added that the company is in discussions with automotive manufacturers, offering the industry a clear technology roadmap using silicon-dominant XFC technology and onto future generation extreme energy-density (XED), based on solid state technologies which are targeted to enter mass production in 2028.
