After the video of a Proton Wira obstructing a fire truck went viral across social media, the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) has decided to look into the incident and discovered that it happened 2 years ago. Nonetheless, PDRM has arrested the Proton Wira driver for his actions.

South Johor Bahru district police chief, ACP Mohd Padzli Mohd Zain told Harian Metro the suspect was arrested by the Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Division on Tuesday (March 30) night.

The suspect is a 33-year-old factory operator. PDRM has also confiscated the Proton Wira featured in the viral video.
Early investigations revealed that though the video only went viral on 27 March 2021, the incident happened on 27 April 2019, about 2 years ago or 23 months ago if you’re counting. The TikTok video has since garnered 6,000 comments.
Mohd Padzli emphasised the suspect’s actions in the video not only put himself in danger but puts other road user’s safety at risk as well.
The suspect not only took advantage of the Bomba’s presence to get out of traffic but he also issued orders to other road users without authority.

PDRM will investigate the case under Section 186 of the Penal Code for obstructing a public officer on duty.
