If you’ve been following our website closely, you would know that we have commenced the WapCar Car of the Year Awards 2021 in which you, our esteemed readers, get to vote for your favourite cars.
We’ve shortlisted 22 models across four categories, one of which is Family Car of the Year. Six cars have been rounded up in this category, the entries are:
In the C-segment SUV battle, we have the Proton X70, Honda CR-V, and Mazda CX-5. These are the top-sellers in their respective segment, with good reasons at that.
The Proton X70 offers a superb value proposition for its comfort, refinement, and features. The Honda CR-V has class-leading interior space and offers the most comprehensive suite of ADAS.
Meanwhile, the Mazda CX-5 has a premium interior in terms of material selection and build quality, plus an engaging driving experience.
Moving down the price hierarchy, there's the Proton X50 and Toyota Corolla Cross.
The Proton X50 is an impressive product; no other competitor in the B-segment SUV space offered Level 2 autonomous driving capabilities for RM 103k like the X50 Flagship.
The Toyota Corolla Cross is also capable of Level 2 autonomous driving and is an impressively refined car, all packaged in a SUV with the Toyota seal of reliability.
Finally there’s the Nissan Serena, a 7-seater MPV that maximises interior space with its boxy shape and it has sliding rear doors. If practicality is of the utmost priority, few can match the Nissan Serena.
So that’s our shortlist for Family Car of the Year. Remember to cast your votes (voting ends on 19-December 2021) for your favourite car and stay tuned for the results.
The quest for automotive knowledge began as soon as the earliest memories. Various sources information, even questionable ones, have been explored including video games, television, magazines, or even internet forums. Still stuck in that rabbit hole.
