Honda Malaysia ends the 900k Milestone campaign on a high note

Honda Malaysia celebrated their 900,000th locally assembled car with a special two-day celebration and a massive giveaway.

The Road to 900,000th Unit Milestone campaign grand finale was held in Bukit Jalil National Stadium on the 28th and 29th September. The grand finale saw the giveaway of 1 unit from each Honda model that is currently on sale in Malaysia to 9 lucky winners.

 Tokyo 2019  Mazda to debut its first electric car

Previewed by the e-TPV prototype, Mazda's first zero-emissions model is likely to be an SUV with up to 150 miles of range. The model is said to accommodate an underfloor battery pack more easily.

It will use a similar set-up to the prototype, which has a 35.5kWh battery and a single electric motor delivering 138bhp and 195lb ft of torque to the front wheels via a single-speed transmission.

The updated 2019 Mazda CX-5 is now available

The updated 2019 Mazda CX-5 is now available in Malaysia along with the new range topping 2.5-litre Turbo variant, which was previewed earlier in September.

The new ranging topping 228 PS/420 Nm 2.5-litre turbocharged AWD replaces the 2.2-litre turbo diesel AWD variant. The lower range 2WD turbo diesel variant however, remains on sale.

Alleged RHD Proton X50 caught on camera

It appears that right-hand drive prototypes of the upcoming Geely Binyue-based Proton X50 have started roaming our streets, as our friends over at Funtasticko just posted photos of such a model.

The up-close shots give us a clearer look at the upcoming B-segment SUV, now with the steering placed on the correct right side of the car. Furthermore, the front wipers have also been redesigned for right-hand drive conditions. The upcoming Proton X50 is also expected to don Proton’s latest logo.

New Nissan Terra caught in Malaysia

It appears that Edaran Tan Chong Motor (ETCM), the official importer and distributor of Nissan vehicles in Malaysia, will be introducing the new Nissan Terra in the near future, as spyshots of the model have surfaced.

According to an anonymous reader that sent these photos in, the Nissan Terra was spotted somewhere along Lebuhraya Sultan Iskandar. Our reader also added that this particular Terra is wearing a VL 4x4 emblem, indicating that it is a top spec 4x4 model.

New Mazda CX-8 now open for booking

Following the launch of the 2019 Mazda CX-5, Bermaz Motor has also rolled out the new Mazda CX-8 at their manufacturing plant in Kulim.

There are four variants to choose from and only the entry-level 2.5L 2WD MID variant is available as a 7-seater (2-3-2 layout). The rest are strictly 6-seaters with a 2-2-2 seating configuration.

Proton achieved the highest market at percentage 20.2% (estimated) with 8,934 units (both domestic and export sales) registered in September 2019, that is a growth rate of 97% compared to 2018 of the same month.

All-new Mercedes-Benz B-Class caught in Malaysia, launch soon?

The all-new third-generation Mercedes-Benz B-Class is expected to be launched in Malaysia soon, as we have just received spyshots of the new model.

We understand that Mercedes-Benz Malaysia is set to introduce the all-new Mercedes-Benz B-Class in the B200 trim, which is likely be priced from RM 239,888. The new model occupies a market segment that was once shared with the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer, but BMW Malaysia has since discontinued this model, leaving the B-Class as the sole option. 

New 2019 Mazda CX-5 launched in Malaysia

Following its preview back in September, the official importer and distributor of Mazda models in Malaysia, Bermaz Motor has announced the prices of the updated Mazda CX-5 line-up.

The highlight of the updated Mazda CX-5 range is the addition of the new 2.5-litre Turbo variant, featuring a 2.5-litre turbocharged SkyActiv-G four-cylinder petrol engine that pumps out 228 PS and 420 Nm.

The Mazda CX-5 is a 5-seater C-Segment SUV that slots in between the CX-3 and CX-8. It competes against the likes of the Honda CR-V and Subaru Forester. The CX-5 is locally assembled at Mazda Malaysia’s manufacturing plant in Kulim.
