Hyundai Malaysia has teased us with an image of the new Hyundai Elantra. Following the launch of the Hyundai Kona and Hyundai Sonata, it seems that Hyundai Malaysia is bringing in another addition to its current line-up.

Known as the Hyundai Avante in South Korea and Singapore, the new Hyundai Elantra might be coming to our shores soon.

Worldwide, the Elantra/Avante is available with several drivetrain options (gasoline, hybrid, LPG) but the Malaysian version will most likely be a 1.6-litre SmartStream G1.6 petrol engine with a CVT gearbox.

Chances are, the Hyundai Elantra will be CBU from Korea.

The sleek styling reminds us of the Hyundai Sonata, albeit with more complex surfaces. The ADAS features on the car are up to date with current technology - but specifications for the Malaysian market is yet to be announced.

If attractively priced, we think the Hyundai Elantra will give current C-segment saloons a run for their money.
