Watch: Police chasing down a white car that was driving on wrong side of road

Yet another car was caught driving in the wrong direction! And this time it happened at the very busy LDP Puchong toll right before the exit to Sunway Pyramid.

The viral video showed an unidentified white car speeding towards the LDP toll on the wrong side of the road, while an auxiliary police tow truck is seen chasing after the car on the other side of the road.

According to Harian Metro, the car might have already travelled at least 10 km on the wrong side of the highway. The auxiliary police only gave chase when they were first alerted of the incident on Kilometre 8 of the highway (near Icon City).

Police have arrested the 27-year-old driver, Petaling Jaya Assistant Commissioner Nik Ezanee Mohd Faisal reported that it is believed that the driver was drunk during the time of incident, as the driver’s alcohol test came back positive for high levels of alcohol.

Preliminary investigations showed that the driver and his girlfriend were heading home to Rawang after a night out partying in Damansara when he entered the wrong side of the road and started speeding in the wrong direction.

The driver will be investigated under Section 42 (1) and Section 45A (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

Even though the incident happened at around 4.30 am, the Litrak toll between Puchong and Sunway is never deserted. It looks like driving against traffic is getting more rampant these days, that’s two incidents in a week!

While we can’t do anything about these drivers, we can only remain extra alert in case we have to make last-minute manoeuvres to avoid them.
