We'll preface this by saying - yes, the Honda S2000 is a very special car. It's one of the few rear-wheel drive models to wear the hallowed 'H' badge (NSX, Beat, S660 are a few more examples), and it's also starred in a couple of Fast and Furious movies too.
Like most classic Japanese sports cars, prices of the S2000 have been mind-boggling in recent times. But we've not seen the last of the price boom yet, as this particular example shows.
This here is the Honda S2000 Special Edition RJ. Its two-letter suffix shows off a bit of its F1 history, denoting the initials of Rubens Barrichello and Jenson Button, both former drivers of the long-defunct Honda Racing F1 team.

Unveiled in late 2006 (the S2000 was produced from 1999 to 2009), only 50 of these were made, and all of them were in this unique pearl white shade - pretty synonymous with other fast Hondas.

Originally for sale only in Italy, France, and Spain, the RJ edition came with an exclusive red-and-black leather interior, and there's where the sole F1 connection lies - the aforementioned drivers' signature on the radio's cover.
Everything else remains pretty standard, including the high-revving 2.0-litre F20C VTEC mill making a heady 241 PS and 208 Nm at a screaming 8,300 rpm, paired to a six-speed manual transmission.

Standard or not, the owner will be laughing all the way to the bank with this hardtop - the EUR 78,000 (~RM 385k) asking price Classic Trader UK wants for this is nearly double its original price of EUR 42,000 (~RM 207k) way back in 2006.
To say it's in mint condition is to understate things massively - not a hair's out of place as it has only clocked 2,102 km since new.
As eye-watering as this price may be, this may be the cheapest it'll ever be in a long while - so it should be the pièce de résistance for any Honda collector out there.
