This is the best Volkswagen e UP 2013. Everything from the chassis to the body shell, the interior design, the features, safety equipment and, very importantly, the transmission has been changed. The engines are not all-new but get improvements of their own for improved driveability, fuel efficiency and comfort. Volkswagen says the goal for their R&D Asia Pacific department was to make a 'one-class-above' car based on the feedback from both existing owners of the previous-gen model as well as potential customers of the Volkswagen e UP 2013. The exterior design may not appeal to everyone, the interior design, space and equipment on offer certainly will. Couple all this with one of the best ride-and-handling packages on any car in the sub-4 metre segment, the Volkswagen e UP 2013 should feature on top of your list if you are looking to buy one in the near future.
The e-Up! is the all-electric version of Volkswagen’s Up! city car. It is powered by a 60 kW electric motor and, not having any kind of gearbox, operates with almost no drivetrain noise at all. The maximum torque of 210 Nm is available at anytime and the car will accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 14 seconds, reaching a top speed of 135 km/h (84 mph). The electric motor is powered by a 18.7 kWh lithium-ion batter pack integrated in the floor, which can be recharged using both AC or DC method. Taking into account the versatility and the 150 km (93 miles) range, the e-Up! is ideal for city driving and for commuting purposes.
