audi a7 accident Q&A Review

From an enthusiast perspective what are the worst trends in new cars?

The over-concern for safety, I understand cars must be safe in an even of an accident, but they are built to drive from A to B, they’re not moving fortresses. Volvo is showing off its safety technology, but those safety technologies are nothing new, no big deal, the Germans like Mercedes, BMW and Volkswagen (Audi), have offered those techs since long ago, like the 1990s. Safety is over cared for, as if the car is mean’t to crash rather than to avoid the crash. The best way to avoid accidents, it...

Is a Tesla Model S a good car for a 17 year-old? I’m planning on buying my daughter one as her first car. If this isn’t a good idea, what is a better alternative at a similar price ($70,000–80,000)?

Its a horrible car for a first timer and let me explain why as someone who races and aspire to create my own car brand in the future. Tesla are good cars without doubt and their extremely safe. Tesla are unique in that because their electric the mass of the car is low in the center without sacrificing space. This means it has the balance of a mid-engine sport car but the practicality of a family car. In essence, having a mid-engine layout means that the center of mass won’t be imprecise meaning it will be extremely precise. However that where all the safety ends apart of the crash safety. Maintenance wise…. If you have the money maintenance is not an issue just like any luxury car, however, keep in mind that Tesla have a very bad reputation of very bad factory build quality and tend to leak water inside the cabin. In addition, the body panels for Tesla are a pain in the ass and this are the worst thing about Tesla. I have a Maserati, a Porsche 911 Carrera 4S, a Mercedes-Benz, and other luxury car brands. And I have NEVER SEEN a car brand that is super hard and laborious to just change a body panel. The problem is that because Tesla is very bureaucratic with its car, just prepare for a lot of bullshit. I had Maserati, Ferrari, and Lamborghini and they are less bullshit about their cars in comparison with Tesla. Money cannot buy to stop the amount of bullshit Tesla service is. Now in why the safety part…. I bet she learned how to drive in a normal car, if that is the case, there is a problem. The problem about Tesla is that is not that they are powerful, but because it is electric, electric cars tend to have extreme acceleration and I mean it. Imagine your daughter who is an amateur or a rookie in the middle of a traffic and then she accidentally accelerate too much and crash the car in front of her, this stuff happens a lot with Tesla. Your daughter will literally be more safe in a BMW M3 or even in a Lamborghini Urus than in a Tesla in that regard. In addition to that, don’t trust the pilot driving in the car just look up all the accidents that had happened before. However, there is another thing and is that she must be super careful when driving in with a mid engine car due to the fact that even though it is precise if you lose your handling and go off turning in circle there is no way to stop the car unless it is hit or stop by an external force. However, for this part just make sure your daughter is not stupid or a dumb ass as many people at my age and other. In addition, Tesla and almost all electric cars tend to have a tiny accident called Battery Fire. Literally, when an electric car crashes just pray to God that it doesn’t catch on fire because if it does (which tends to happens a lot in big crashes or randomly). It will burn up really fast, really horrible, and non stop for a long time. The most dangerous part of this car is that its BOTH a performance vehicle AND a family car., Why is this dangerous? Because if your going to let your daughter have a performance car you don’t want it to be as practical as it could be because this shit can happen: I don’t think like other people do that a Honda Civic is a great first car. Lets be honest its fucking ugly and lacks good dynamic and enjoyment. However, as someone who have experience is race car and performance vehicle. If your daughter want to have a good performance vehicle that isn't a Miata and its pretty powerful, I recommend a to buy her a coupe in that regard. Why? because she doesn’t get to invite to much people in her car. The less practical the better because she will be less prone to do dangerous stupid thing just to impress her stupid friends. An SUV is excellent as she won’t break the bumper as I did. lol. However, SUV has a disadvantage and is that their center of mass is too high up and SUV are more prone to flip over than any other performance vehicle. And if you still don’t care about that then here is a list of all the car that I recommend beside a Tesla. If she is looking for a cool car just to make her look cool here is a list between that price range: Coupes Audi RS 5 Porsche Cayman (for insurance I don’t recommend any convertible that isn’t hardtop) BMW M4 Sedan Audi A7 Alfa Romeo Giulia Porsche Panamera The back seats are super uncomfortable so thats why I put it in the list and its a car that you can handle it really well BMW M3 SUV Porsche Macan Porsche Cayanne Genesis GV80 Land Rover Defender Pickup Truck Ford F-150 Raptor The only one I approve

What is better Volvo or Audi?

They both are the best, because they both aren’t even competitors. Volvo is in a segment between mass market cars (Toyota, Hyundai, etc…) and premium cars (Mercedes, BMW, etc…). Volvo is kinda like Alfa Romeo, Acura or Lexus. Volvo is obviously cheaper and therefore more affordable. It beats Audi hands down, in terms of value for money and affordability. The only Volvo I like is the XC90, but that’s it. Audi is a premium brand, it beats Volvo in desirability, driving pleasure, luxury, quality, technology and big range of models to choose from. Audi has the A1, Q8, A8, R8, E-tron, and A7 (and maybe more…), Volvo has nothing to compete against these models I mentioned. Volvo and Audi are both strong and safe in events of accidents. Volvo keeps bragging about safety because they need a ground to stand on, whilst Audi has a lot to brag about, like luxury, quality and technology, they even have the reputed Quattro AWD system! Plus Audis also get 5 stars in crash tests so that nails it. I prefer Audi because of the badge that boast more prestige, and quality.

Do they have to do crash tests on the very expensive and one of a kind cars, like Koenigsegg Regera, Bugatti Chiron?

Specifically Koenigsegg Regera, they already did. Read more here: ,Koenigsegg Regera crash test sees £1.4 million supercar put through its paces For supercars in general, the governmental safety standards require manufacturers to demonstrate that their cars offer at least some degree of crash safety, and car companies will often subject prototypes and development cars to tests that assess how well they’ll perform in collisions and how much protection they offer in the event of a rollover, etc. All new cars must include things like front crumple zones, which deform upon impact to absorb the energy from a collision and better protect occupants, while virtually all cars – supercars included – will also come complete with stability control, airbags and anti-lock brakes. What car manufacturers ,aren’t, required to do is undergo independent testing from the likes of Euro NCAP in Europe or the NHTSA in the US, both of which carry out much more extensive and thorough tests than those legally required and which offer safety ratings out of five for each car. As a result, it’s rare to see a Euro NCAP or NHTSA-tested supercar, and currently on the ,Euro NCAP site, there are no ratings for any supercar currently on sale. The reason is that due to the fact that organisations like this are independent, they buy new cars straight off the dealership lot in order to test them rather than have them willingly provided by the manufacturers, who are under no legal obligation to provide their cars for tests. Resultantly, it’s not feasible for the likes of Euro NCAP to test every single car that’s on the market and it rarely tests every single car offered by each manufacturer either. Instead, independent crash testers will pick a couple of cars from each manufacturer that are representative of each and also representative of the most popular models. Euro NCAP’s website states: “To provide the broadest range of consumer information, each year a selection is made of the most popular and interesting models.” As an example, Euro NCAP currently has information on the majority of Audi cars on sale, apart from the A5, A7 and A8, while the R8 supercar hasn’t been crash tested by the organisation either. With all that in mind then, is your average supercar likely to be more or less safe in the event of an accident than your average hatchback? Unfortunately again, it’s less clear cut than a simple yes or no answer. For a start, much of it depends on the skill and attentiveness of the driver. A good driver who drives responsibly and who can read the road will have a greater chance of avoiding accidents altogether, regardless of whether they’re driving a Fiat or a Ferrari. Many would claim that supercars have a higher dynamic safety factor thanks to their nimbleness and stronger brakes, which would afford drivers a much better chance of staying out of trouble too, but for the sake of argument let’s assume that any collision is unavoidable and happens at a moderate speed, say 50mph. The inclusion of crumple zones will go a long way to protecting occupants, while the fact that many supercars are made of advanced composite materials like carbon fibre specifically designed to resist impacts and absorb energy should make them suitably safe in the event of an accident. Many supercars are also now built with monocoque survival cell construction, where the driver and passengers sit inside an isolated tub made of high-strength metal or carbon fibre. The idea is that in the event of an impact, the parts around the car shred away, deform or break off, absorbing energy and deflecting it away from the core survival cell. While passenger cars all feature crumple zones as well, most are still made of traditional materials like steel and aluminium and lack the monocoque construction of more exclusive, much more expensive performance cars. That’s not to say that they’re less safe, as many come packed with technology like autonomous emergency braking, blind spot detection and driver drowsiness alert systems, most of which aren’t available on supercars and which can go a long way towards preventing accidents. As well as that, the inclusion of these technologies all contribute towards high scores in both Euro NCAP and NHTSA tests; without them, many cars won’t be able to score the full five-star rating. Like any car, though, it’s impossible to judge one based on the merits or drawbacks of another. Some supercars may be more safe than others and more safe than certain more everyday vehicles, though on the flipside the same is likely to be true for different models. The lack of independent testing makes it much harder to differentiate between which supercars are safer than the rest, though in fairness it’s unlikely that any such car would achieve a five-star Euro NCAP rating anyway on account of their sheer power and low-slung design, which poses increased risks regardless of how advanced its materials are. I am planning to buy Audi A7 2020 (350hp) as my first car on the Christmas this year. I just recently got my driving license and gonna practice on our familiy’s Citroen C5 Aircross till then. Money is not the problem in my case. What do you think?

You’d need to be really careful while driving. Audi A7 is really wide and long car. If you scratch it somewhere you messed up. But it’s the same with Citroen C5 Aircross so shouldn’t be such a problem. For the audi a7 as you are a new driver, insurance is the pain in the ass. But It doesn’t matter on what you said about your financial status. Also, I think you don’t need to worry about your first year of driving. Because you are still a bit unexperienced and scared driver. That means you are really likely to be extremely careful while driving. Always pay attention. Mainly after few months of getting used to it and thinking you are a “good driver”. At this period alot of young people get into an accident.
