Why do major news sources keep reporting that Paul Manafort was President Trump's campaign manager when Trump says Manafort had nothing to do with his campaign?

I have to believe you’ve posed this question for the benefit of others and not yourself, otherwise you’d need to be: a) In the later stages of dementia and unable to recall the past couple of years or b) An amazingly gifted toddler born in late 2016 who’s figured out how to use the internet but hasn’t quite mastered Google search For the benefit of the audience I believe these answers are intended to reach, here’s a brief history of Paul Manafort involvement with the Trump campaign ,as chronicled by Fox News,: Ex-Breitbart editor on Trump campaign manager facing charges; Gingrich sounds off about controversy [,KELLY: Breaking tonight. Team Trump confirming that the republican front- runner has hired a veteran republican strategist to help him what promises to be a long delegate fight ahead of Cleveland. The campaign enlisting Paul Manafort, a man who helped President Gerald Ford manage his 1976 contested convention battle against Ronald Reagan.,] Trump’s campaign beefing up, amid reported tensions inside the ranks [,Fox News learned Thursday that the Trump campaign will add some “seasoned operatives” to beef up the team for the big state contests ahead. And Paul Manafort, best known for managing President Gerald Ford’s successful floor game at the 1976 contested Republican Convention, was put in charge of the Trump campaign’s Washington, D.C., office, sources close to the campaign told Fox News on Thursday. A campaign statement later said Manafort would be working closely with other top campaign members in his new role.,] Trump reportedly shakes up campaign ahead of big primaries [,Donald Trump reportedly has ordered a major campaign shake-up ahead of upcoming Republican primaries, handing over control of operations to new hires Paul Manafort and Rick Wiley – a move said to be upsetting long-time staff. Politico reported, late Monday that Trump has given Wiley and Manafort a $20 million budget for contests in May and June, including the vital June 7 California primary. Trump likely faces a must-win in California to have any chance of clinching the GOP nomination outright and avoiding a contested convention. Manafort was hired last month to lead Trump’s push for delegates, while Wiley was hired last week by Manafort as the campaign’s national political director.,] Trump adviser Manafort says 'changing the setting, not the candidate' [,Donald Trump adviser Paul Manafort is going on the defensive against accusations that the campaign has acknowledged that Trump and his often outsized campaign is really an act that will soon end, saying Sunday that “we’re changing the setting, not the candidate.” Manafort, the newly-hired Trump convention manager, has been defending comments he made last week to Republican National Committee officials in which he, in part, said, Trump was “projecting an image.”,] Trump campaign aide Paul Manafort gets a new title [,JERSEY CITY, N.J. – Presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump is promoting his senior campaign aide. Paul Manafort, a campaign veteran brought on by Trump at the end of March to serve as convention manager, will now hold the title of campaign chairman and chief strategist, spokeswoman Hope Hicks confirmed Thursday. Manafort and other new hires have sometimes clashed with Trump's original, tightly-knit team led by campaign manager Corey Lewandowski. Lewandowski is expected to maintain his current role overseeing day-to-day campaign operations.,] Source: Trump adviser's ultimatum prompted move to oust Lewandowski [,Donald Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski’s abrupt firing Monday came down to a battle of ultimatums. And ultimately, Lewandowski lost. Paul Manafort, the veteran operative who since March has been amassing influence inside Trump HQ, recently telegraphed through third parties he would be gone in 48 hours if Trump didn’t oust Lewandowski, who'd run his campaign from the outset. Manafort was fed up with battling Lewandowski and let the campaign know the two of them "just couldn't get along." From there, it became a family affair. Trump’s daughter Ivanka and her husband Jared Kushner didn’t want to lose Manafort, believing him to be the more experienced hand to guide the campaign into the general election. They convinced Trump to keep him – and the only way to do that, given Manafort’s terms, was to dump Lewandowski. Faced with a choice, Trump chose Manafort.,] Paul Manafort resigns from Trump campaign [,“This morning Paul Manafort offered, and I accepted, his resignation from the campaign,” Trump said in a written statement to ,Fox News,. “I am very appreciative for his great work in helping to get us where we are today, and in particular his work guiding us through the delegate and convention process. Paul is a true professional and I wish him the greatest success.”,] Fox News may, at some point, scrub all historical facts from their site, but that will probably happen after Trump cancels the 2020 elections and cements his dictatorial powers.

What are your thoughts on Mitch McConnell saying states should file for bankruptcy? What is his reasoning?

Nothing new. Note this colorful New York Daily News headline from 1975. Republican politicians have treated our cities and blue states with disdain for many years. Mitch McConnell is just a recent example. Like President Ford, Mitch McConnell figures his constituents love sticking it to those elite Northeasterners. There's just one problem with that. You see Mitch McConnell's state of Kentucky is the 2nd largest drain on the Federal government per capita. Look who's sending all this money to Kentucky. The top 3 donor states are the blue Northeastern states of New Jersey, Massachusetts and New York. So who's telling who to go bankrupt? Tell you what Mitch, here's the deal. The wealthy Northeastern states get to keep their money and you find another source of funding the welfare and food stamps for your constituents. No worries Mitch. You can always declare bankruptcy.

What are the ten most obscure facts you can tell me about the history of the United States?

Los Angeles is further East than Reno. Ho Chi Minh did not always hate America, in fact he lived in America for a time and was quite fond of it. So when he got tired of the French he wrote a series of letters to then President Harry Truman, all of which were ignored and so he ended up seeking help from the Soviets. It could arguably be said that Ohio is the 48th state and not Arizona. The reason for this is when Ohio was preparing for their supposed 150th anniversary, it was found that their state charter had not been ratified properly. They had always assumed they were a state. Eisenhower then declared them to be a state retroactively to the date 150 years earlier. Alaska is both the Westernmost and and Northernmost state, this may not be a surprise. What might be however is that it is also the Eastern most state. If we are calculating it based on the international dateline, there are a few islands that are on the other side of the dateline, meaning they are technically far East (also these Islands are near enough to Russian Islands that you could see one from the other on a clear day and so Sarah Palin’s comments about being able to see Russia from Alaska were correct). During the Civil War, Arizona and New Mexico were not yet states, only a territory. They were however involved in the war. In fact, at one point the Southern portion of the Territory was claimed by both the Union and Confederacy. When George Washington was leading the Colonial army in the Revolutionary war, he was what you could call a 3 star General. In 1976, 177 years after he died, Gerald Ford created a new Rank General of the Armies, and posthumously promoted Washington to it, ensuring that no other general would ever outrank him. The Black Tom explosion occurred in Jersey City in 1916. Debris from the explosion flew for miles, ended up causing damage to the statue of liberty as well as many buildings in the area. The cause of the explosion was not known until much later. It was determined that German agents, as an act of sabotage, blew up munitions that were meant to be sent to allies fighting overseas in WWI. This might not be all that obscure as it is commonly cited trivia, but there was a man involved in an odd coincidence in the civil War. Wilmer McLean lived near Manassas, Virginia when the Civil War broke out, the first major battle being right outside. So in order to escape this, he moved to Appomattox, Virginia. 4 years later, Robert E. Lee signed the surrender inside McLean’s house there. McLean would go on to say "The war began in my front yard and ended in my front parlor." It is said that there is a section of Yellowstone where if you commit a crime, it will be unable to be prosecuted. This has to do with the peculiarity of the jurisdiction. Yellowstone covers area mostly in Wyoming but also a little bit of Idaho and Montana. The park was founded before any of them was a state. Because of this, it was assigned its own jurisdiction. Today the jurisdiction is overseen by Wyoming, even the sections in the other 2 states. This creates a conflict if a crime is committed in the Idaho section, since the region in the state is unpopulated and so there would be no one available for a jury. (See link for a better explanation) ,A Legal Loophole Might Let You Get Away With Murder In Yellowstone Minowi is a town in Nebraska with a population of 1. It is incorporated so it actually has a mayor, that 1 resident serves as the mayor as well as the local bartender. It would be interesting to see what happens when she dies if no one else moves there. Could there be an incorporated town with a population of 0?

Did Edwin Booth and Robert Lincoln remain friends after the assassination?

They were never friends before or after the assassination. “,Fate brought Lincoln and Booth together in a train station in Jersey City, N.J., in the midst of the Civil War. At the time Robert was on a holiday from Harvard, traveling from New York to Washington, D.C., while Booth was on his way to Richmond, Va., with his friend, John T. Ford (owner of Ford’s Theatre in Washington). The exact date of the encounter is unknown, although Robert consistently recalled it as having occurred in 1863 or 1864.,” “,Robert Lincoln wrote the most succinct account of the incident in a 1909 letter to Richard Watson Gilder, editor of ,The Century Magazine,, who asked him to verify that the episode actually took place: The incident occurred while a group of passengers were late at night purchasing their sleeping car places from the conductor who stood on the station platform at the entrance of the car. The platform was about the height of the car floor, and there was of course a narrow space between the platform and the car body. There was some crowding, and I happened to be pressed by it against the car body while waiting my turn. In this situation the train began to move, and by the motion I was twisted off my feet, and had dropped somewhat, with feet downward, into the open space, and was personally helpless, when my coat collar was vigorously seized and I was quickly pulled up and out to a secure footing on the platform. Upon turning to thank my rescuer I saw it was Edwin Booth, whose face was of course well known to me, and I expressed my gratitude to him, and in doing so, called him by name. Months after the incident, in 1865, Booth received a letter from a friend, Colonel Adam Badeau, then serving as an officer on Grant’s staff. Lincoln had related the story of the rescue to Badeau while they were stationed at City Point, Va., and Badeau supposedly offered Booth his compliments for having performed such a deed. “,According to one Booth biographer, Robert’s superior, Ulysses S. Grant, also wrote to Booth to congratulate him on his heroism. Grant not only praised Booth’s quick actions but also said that if he could ever serve Edwin, he would gladly do so. Edwin reportedly replied that when Grant was in Richmond, the actor would perform for him there.“ “Robert Lincoln’s life was apparently forever darkened by that night, not only by the loss but also by the belief that he might have saved his father’s life if he had attended the play. His close friend in later years, Nicholas Murray Butler, recounted in his memoir that the president’s son never forgave himself for his absence. As the youngest member of the presidential party, Robert would have sat at the back of the box, closest to the door. He reportedly told Butler that, had he been present, Booth would have had to deal with him before he could have shot the president.“ Edwin Booth as Hamlet circa 1870. (Library of Congress) “As for Edwin Booth, the assassination almost destroyed him. In one foul instant he lost his younger brother, the prestige of his family name and his president. The day after the assassination, Edwin wrote to Adam Badeau and wrung out his feelings on recent events, lamenting the beautiful plans he had had for the future, all blasted now.“ “In a letter written the same day to Henry C. Jarrett, manager of the Boston Theater, Booth called that April 15 the most distressing day of his life and added, The news of the morning has made me wretched indeed, not only because I have received the unhappy tidings of the suspicions of a brother’s crime, but because a good man and a most justly honored and patriotic ruler has fallen in an hour of national joy by the hand of an assassin.“ “According to Booth’s friend William Bispham, the events of that 1865 Good Friday brought Edwin Booth stricken to the ground, and it was only the love of his friends that saved him from madness. Bispham and another Booth friend, Thomas Aldritch, took turns staying close to the brooding actor, afraid that if he did not go insane he might resume drinking liquor, which he had given up in 1863.” Apart from the incident at the railway station), there is no evidence of Robert Lincoln and Edwin Booth meeting or having any friendship. How Edwin Booth Saved Robert Todd Lincoln's Life The Booth Family had links to the American...

As an Indian, what was it like to visit America for the first time?

August 2, 2004 was an exciting day for me. I went through some of the same experiences as others - ridiculously priced carts at New Jersey airport to carrying super sized baggages [32 kg x 3]. When I got out of the airport, it felt magical. I gawked at supersized everything - supersized McMansions, supersized tomatoes in supersized supermarkets to gas guzzling Ford pickups driving through Interstates that seemingly never ended. My cousin who helped me settle bought in bulk at Sams Club and I felt like I was buying things for a caravan journey across the desert. The way in which I gawked at the fresh produce, I felt like coming out of an oppressed communist country and first hand experiencing capitalism. I grew up in villages and before coming to the US I was studying at a small town in southern India. It was fascinating to see the prosperity at a place I was long dreaming to come. As much as it was fascinating, it was also scary — given that I landed up in Baltimore — among the most unsafe cities in the US. The Indian Student Association had detailed presentations on how to avoid mugging and what to do in case of getting mugged [have a wallet with dollar bills all the time and never hesitate to give up], how to deal with the police [if pulled over keep your hands on the wheel and never get out unless asked to]. My seniors also talked about sniper attacks and random shooting [such as the one that happened around the area at that time — ,D.C. sniper attacks] ,and I was amazed by the absolute contrasts — the land of incredible prosperity on one side and a semi warzone on the other. In a way that felt like India — we have deep economic disparities and in the US I felt it was similarly challenged in how different the country is to different people. On the whole my experience was more positive than negative. It was amazing that they built a nation from scratch and took it to the top of the world in just two centuries. Beyond all the surface contradictions that particular aspect was the one that still makes me love the US.

What is the most jank car repair you've ever done on the road? Something that you didn't have the tools for, you weren't prepared for happening, but still managed to fix long enough to get home or to a mechanic.

Years ago I was driving across America in a 1953 Ford. I hit a huge hole in road and I broke a axle in Kansas. Pulled alongside the highway. No interstate then. Car was not going anywhere. Dead. I used tire jack and raised rear end up high. Found odd pieces of wood and used them to secure chassis. I had a vice grip, pair pliers, a very old socket wrench set and took part of axle apart. I had to disassemble rear end and remove other axle also. I was able to fish broken piece of axle thru brake opening. In distance was a old farm. Farm was occupied by older couple and their junk farm plows and cars everywhere. The farmer directed me to a old ford laying in field. Brought out some tools and I took axle out of junk car. He instructed me to collect axle lube dripping from rear. And then drove me back to my car. I fixed my car but the rear bearing was very loose and brake became soaked with leaking oil. In Hill City Kansas I found a auto parts place that could press a new bearing, had 90 weight oil and I washed brake out. I made another 5000 miles across country and back to New Jersey without another repair. That old Ford had 100,000 when I bought it and maybe another 100,000 miles when I sold it in 1963. I loved that car! W2hp

What are the BEST tourist spots in New Jersey, USA?

Here are a few that will cover a variety of interests. For history lovers. Waterloo Village, (Stanhope) - This is restored 19th century village that popped up along the Morris Canal. The latter was a man made waterway running across northern New Jersey from the Delaware River to Jersey City. The Ford Mansion ,(Morristown) - This home was built in 1770 and served as the headquarters for George Washington and his staff during the winter of 1779-80. It is now a national historic park and in addition to the mansion, there is a museum on the property that has a nice display of Revolutionary War era artifacts. The Great Falls ,(Paterson) - The falls are a worthwhile sight, being the second largest waterfalls, by volume, east of the Mississippi. Only Niagara Falls exceeds the Great Falls. It was also the cradle of American industry, when the falls were harnessed to power factories and mills that grew up along side them. It is now known as the Great Falls National Historical Park and is the latest addition to the national park system Natural beauty The Delaware Water Gap, - The Delaware River cut this gap into the Kittitanny Mountains over millions of years. The view from Mount Tammany is breathtaking. The area around it became the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area in the 1980's and also features waterfalls, historic roads (Old Mine Road is one of the oldest continuously used roads in the US), historic villages ( Millbrok Village and Walpack), great fishing (Big Flat Brook and Delaware River) and excellent hiking (including the Appalachian Trail). The Palisades, (Bergen County) - These massive cliffs line the Hudson River and offer excellent views. Palisades Interstate Park offers some nice hiking trails that take you along the cliffs and down to the river. This was the center of the US film industry before it moved to Hollywood. The term "cliffhanger movie" comes from movies that were filmed along these cliffs. Bearfort Mountain, (West Milford) - This 30 mile long ridge line offers outstanding hiking and some of the finest scenery in the region. The trails are rugged, but the views from the top are worth it, especially where the mountain towers over Greenwood Lake. Island Beach State Park ,(Ocean County) - Though New Jersey is famous for cramming as many homes as possible near the ocean, this park looks little different than it did when Europeans first came yo the shores of what is now New Jersey. The dunes and abundant shore birds are worth a visit for nature lovers. Other Cape May, - This historic and quaint Victorian shore town on the southern tip of New Jersey is famous for its bed and breakfast accommodations, history and scenery. Atlantic City ,- Casinos and the world famous boardwalk are the attractions here. Princeton, - This college town is full of history and offers shops, museums and restaurants. Asbury Park ,- This long run down city by the sea has been making a comeback. The historic boardwalk is still there and more vibrant than it has been in decades. And of course there is the well known music scene. Liberty State Park/Liberty Science Center ,- Liberty State Park is the most visited park in the state, with great views of Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty. Liberty Science center is an interactive science museum that is great for children The battleship USS New Jersey ,(Camden) - This WW2 battleship was one of the most decorated ships in US history. The mighty battleship is no longer a part of the world's naval arsenals, but USS New Jersey was one of the mightiest of all. Only a handful of the thousands of battleships that were ever built remain.

Do rappers really sleep with a lot of girls?

My step dad was a rapper. He was a 55 year old white Italian cop at the time and I'm not sure where he went wrong or if he acquired brain damage I wasn't aware of. In 1998 he assumed the rap name of ‘Merk’ and got golden grills with pink diamonds in his mouth. He used to liberally call me the n - word around the house, for things like me not picking a pen up off of the floor or uneven grass cutting. At first he used the racial 'er' ending but quickly replaced it with n***a. Other nouns he preferred (forced) me to address him as were “sir”, “sire”, and “lord". He took his pension from the PD and launched his rap career (which wasn't much of a career at first but a reason to blast Jay Z in his car and slow down around 16 year old girls I went to school with). In 1998 he dropped his first EP 'Disco', followed by his second EP 'Disco 2′, both with only 4 tracks each. They were fucking horrible. I think the titles to the albums either referred to him being a disco dancer in the 70s or often telling me to “discoagulate” (not a real word) Dawn dish soap nozzles (picking out the hardened soap). Prior to his retirement from the force, Merk borrowed a hearse from a friend. He hired a marching band from a neighboring high school (actually, more like bribed by paying around 20 of them $200 each) to march in front of the vehicle playing the theme to 'The Godfather’ through my neighborhood with fat black strippers twerking on the roof while driving in his rapper getup, and displaying a wreathed portrait of himself as a young police officer on the back windshield, emblematic of the demise of his former self, with “RIP” spray painted across both sides of the vehicle in pink. Not having established himself in the slightest, and with only mild interest from an amateur record producer from the Munhall, PA projects (a skinny half and half guy who called himself 'Step stone'), he up and disappeared. What catapulted him to his 15 minutes of fame was when he absconded with my car (a 1995 Ford Escort GT, despite owning his own Cadillac) and snuck into the 2000 Grammys behind DMX, Drag - On, and some Ruff Ryders groupies and while getting ejected from the event by the authorities, he began screaming “GLASS HOUSE, N ***A! GLASS HOUSE!” while throwing his 'Disco 2′ mixtapes into the crowd. Consequently actress Regina King passed it on to an executive at Warner Bros who sought to capitalize on the incident, allowing for $150,000 to record and release an 8 track long LP for my step dad which came out in 2002 titled 'The Derelict'. People initially thought the title was Merk referring to hinself, but I know that in reality it was a word he often called our neighbor Gene along with “neanderthal” because his bushes on the property line extended about 2 inches onto our side. In 2005, after low -end moderate record sales (he earned enough to build wooden stairs from our deck to the yard), he moved back from LA to rip on and continue to berate and oppress me (still calling me n***a and making me do useless and arduous tasks like cutting our entire front and back lawn with scissors). At the same time he changed his persona to an over sexualized character named 'Jason Stetson’ where he released album 2 titled “Appullella Cowboy” (a reference to what I found out was a non - existent street block named Appullella Square in Jersey City, NJ, contrary to his claims that this is where he grew up and gained “street credit”…. Liar). Step dad began wearing a cowboy hat and started singing in a low baritone Barry White sounding singing voice, heavily emulating Everlast. He recorded the eponymous title track to the album with Step stone and a local prostitute with a mildly good voice named Lady Lux. He was briefly signed to Interscope through one of his LA connections who found it tasteful and a “nice change up” from his pompous rap persona. His tour was cancelled when, in his first show, without permission from his agency, he sodomized a prostitute at a cerebral palsey charity concert (unfortunately). He came home in 2006 and went on a hiatus. In this time, while shooting me with a taser he had from his police days and in the other hand spraying me down with a hose while I was planting tomatoes for him that spring, he electrocuted himself when his 14 gold chains were caught in the crossfire of both at the same time. The year 2008 would be his swansong with his self - released finale 'Theft Equity'. One particular track that received praise was titled 'Summiz', where he interwove a story about young and old love, and spraying girls with a fire hydrant and the pain of loss in his youth back in Jersey. This never happened. In reality he grew up in Homestead, PA when he was a kid, where his devout Catholic mother forced him to kneel on corn kernels for saying “oh jeez". Despite some in the music community who were secret fans and were able to obtain copies of the mixtape, it made no money, and my mom and him finally divorced. He took the house and at the same time won $500,000 in the lottery, but blew it on coke, gambling, and lawnmowers. To your question, last I knew he was having sex with a 101 year old lady from down the street. So, did he get women? Other than my mom, hookers, and a decrepit old woman from down the street who was alive during the Titanic, to my knowledge he didn't really get a lot of women. There were rumors that he'd been sleeping with Lady Lux (he came home with herpes and the crabs from time to time) and some other prostitute (that part of which is true, since I caught them in my bedroom closet, prompting Merk to head butt me). As for famous rappers, I'll say this - in college I worked security for a 50 Cent concert and afterwards we had to pull about 50 condoms from his hot tub. So yeah they definitely do.
