I am neither an American nor Canadian, but before I would talk more about this question, therefore I will describe to you the info about the [Hyundai] Elantra: “,The Hyundai Elantra, Korean: 현대 엘란트라, or Hyundai Avante, Korean: 현대 아반떼, is a small family car produced by the South Korean manufacturer Hyundai since 1990. The Elantra was initially marketed as the ‘Lantra’ in Australia and some European markets. In Australia, this was due to the similarly named Mitsubishi Magna Elante model; similarly, in other markets, the name Avante is not used due to its similarity with Audi’s ‘Avant’ designation, which is used for their line-up of estates. The name was standardised as ‘Elantra’ worldwide in 2001, except in South Korea.,” Source: But in addition to that, the Elantra in Europe - plus the UK and its ex-colonies such as the Republic of Ireland, Malta, and Cyprus - was replaced by the ,[Hyundai] i30, in 2007, a similar vein shared with the ,[Hyundai] Accent, supermini being replaced by the ,[Hyundai] i20, since the former car’s nameplate felt too similar with the “Acenta” designation that ,Nissan, uses for its vehicles’ trim lines overseas, e.g. ,[Nissan] Micra,. I guess, since I deeply cover much of this answer in regards to the European or markets - mainly Australia, New Zealand, and to a lesser-extent, South Africa - which profoundly sells the older generations of the Elantra and its i30 successor, therefore in addition, the aforementioned two models are probably better for a first-time car buyer - even though in layman’s terms that the Elantra and the identically-platformed i30 are neither early birds just to jump into the likes of the mediocre thus overrated Toyota Corolla and Volkswagen Golf. Especially, despite polishing its successes in numerous markets - particularly India due to the size of its population compared to certain European countries like Denmark, Sweden, and Finland - in recent times, the ,Hyundai Motor Group, has no plans to whip itself up to collaborate with or take over other companies since the former merger axed its ,partnership, with US tech giant Apple recently. More particularly, the Hyundai Motor Group might as well as take over ,Nissan, alone in order to make the latter great again as when it was selling cars under the ,Datsun, name before, especially with Nissan lacking a small family car since the discontinuation of the ,[Nissan] Pulsar, three years ago, 2018. That means, because of the deeply high demand for the ,[Nissan] Qashqai, compact crossover that has been in production since 2006 for the 2007 model year, so in case of keeping the Nissan nameplate alive means sharing [Nissan] everything with Hyundai and ,Kia, cars - from engineering components to design platforms/underpinnings - might keep Japan’s second-biggest car manufacturer in terms of sales to cash in on those models. As the platform used in the Elantra and i30 is also the same platform used in the ,[Hyundai] Tucson,, a competitor to the Qashqai whose platform is also applied in the North America-only ,[Nissan] Sentra,, which is also a competitor to the Elantra as both models also share the same “-ntra” suffix - pretty good sense for Nissan alone to merge with Hyundai since both are also sharing the same bias that the said two companies are deeply standing against ,Toyota,. And speaking of Toyota, for sure, the latter might as well as take over ,Stellantis,, which is a result of a merger between ,[Groupe] PSA Peugeot Citroen and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV,, which deeply explains why my fantasies of Hyundai-Kia buying Nissan and Toyota buying ,Stellantis, would rather reflect the growing expansion of Chinese automotive companies, e.g. Dongfeng, Geely, Great Wall, SAIC, overseas - eat your heart out, Elon Musk! - ,Genda Nicolai Yturzaeta Iwakawa/awakawI ateazrutY ialociN adneG
