I've only ever seen one but it should function just fine. It's not like Subaru doesn't know how to make crossovers. That's been their bread and butter since the Outback came out.
I did. And very sorry that I did because they are notorious for blowing head gaskets. By the time I got rid of it it had a leak in the front axle and rack and pinion, catalytic converter was going out, it was burning oil, and the clutch became so jerky I started to hate driving it. So when my mechanic saw signs of moisture at the head gasket I got rid of it. All that at only 150,000 miles. I've had several Hondas I put over 300,000 miles on, so I will stick with Hondas or Toyota.
Subaru stopped making the Baja because the car it was based on, the Outback, changed platforms. The Baja wasn't a strong enough seller for Subaru to put the time and money into engineering a new version based on the new platform, so the Baja rode off into the sunset when supplies of chassis built on the old platform ran out.
We have no small trucks in the US-Canadian marketplace. Subaru didn’t sell many because it just wasn’t the small truck people were wishing for. Will we see any in the future? No way to know. Seems to be some fear on the part of automakers that we don’t want what we had with the popular Ford Ranger and before that with the many Japanese pickups. I could use a pickup but do not enjoy the F-150 that my son has. Its just too big.
Both will last as long as you maintain them propperly and change worn out parts accordingly. The renegade in total has more issues then the Subaru to start with and will be the more costly csr in the ling run.
It’s not a truck. It’s a four-door sedan with an open back. This is a truck:
