What do you think of the Volkswagen Atlas?
I personally find the VW Atlas very intriguing! Like really! I love the design and the satisfying price on the website. I just noticed some odd aspects, is it just me or does the rear resemble the Toyota Avensis (2009 - present)? or Toyota Land Cruiser (2008–2014)? It sure does to me! XD. A bit ironic because right now, VW and Toyota are global rivals. It’s not VW being a copy cat, no! Not at all! It’s just sheer coincidence I guess. If you look at the side of the VW Atlas, look towards the rear and it may remind you of a Fiat Freemont/Dodge Journey. That too the way the rear lighting are engineered, does resemble Jeep Grand Cherokee rear lights. A bit of Fiat Chrysler Automobile similarity I’ve been noticing within VW lately. Their Skoda Kodiaq does resemble a Jeep Grand Cherokee at first glance, from certain angles. Again, could be sheer coincidence. The front of the VW Atlas does resemble the VW Amarok, one looking at the front only, would mistake it for being a face-lifted Amarok. The VW Atlas otherwise looks amazing, I wonder how do other rivals compare!

Earlier, there were only ,three ,auto assemblers but today 02 more have already entered into the marketplace and 06 more to join in the market ,shortly,. In the past four decades, automobile industry of Pakistan moved from ,monopoly ,of ,Pak-Suzuki, to ,oligopoly ,by Suzuki, ,Honda, and ,Toyota,. Currently, the market structure is shifting towards ,contestable ,marketplace. In all, there will be 08 more automobile assemblers in Pakistan, 02 of them have already launched their products in 2019; ,KIA, & ,United,. Hence, there are 06 more to come in 2020 onwards! ,Five of them shall be the internationally renowned brands,. These International brands are,: Renault KIA Hyundai Volkswagen Sazgar in collaboration with a Chinese assembler. Renault, , ,has signed a contract with ,Al-Futtaim, to start assembling cars in Pakistan. They will bring forwards their latest products & innovations in Pakistan. The first car that Renault & Al-Futtaim will launch in Pakistan is expected to be ,Renault SUV ,Duster,. Do you shop around before buying a car, or do you normally go to a dealership and buy something you like?
Dealer? I wouldn't go near one! I do a great deal of research on models in the class I'm looking for. I then choose the model and start hunting for the actual car. My last purchase, of course I wanted a car with manual transmission and rear wheel drive or four wheel drive. I wanted something of about 200hp and good economy. No manufacturer made such a car except BMW with the 123d. So the model was clear. I then trawled the internet and found a few in my price range. The best one was in Perth (Australia, I live in Adelaide). I spent some time communicating with the seller to check what I needed to and flew over to Perth, picked up the car and paid for it, then drove straight home. I never regretted that purchase. My wife and I are expecting to need a new car soon, and we have discussed the choice at length. Looks like a Volkswagen Amarok. But unlike the previous episode there are alternatives. The Toyota Hilux is a possibility. It will still be some time in the future, so things may still change. But a dealer?? Can ssomeone please explain why you'd ever buy from a used car dealer, pay more and get a warrantee they won't honour?
What brand of pickup truck should I avoid?
I can’t speak about North America, but I can speak for Belgium, Europe, where the pick ups are 3/4th the size of American pick ups. Nissan, Toyota and Mitsubishi have the best rep. I own a Nissan Navara D23 which I bought recently, I love it, great value for money! But the following are the brands I personally avoid: Ford Ranger, bad reliability bad dealer, bad service, bad reputation and bad quality. It’s a terrible shame, because Ford should be the best when it comes to pick ups, they’ve been in the business for a VERY long time. The Ford Ranger is RARELY used for serious duty, they’re often driven by families going for an outing. Isuzu D-Max, I fail to see ANY character in the Isuzu D-Max’s design. Very drab interior, and generic overall design. By all means it is VERY reliable and cheap to afford, many owners I know praise them for serious duty. But value for money… well nope. Work only, no play. That’s how Isuzu does it. Volkswagen Amarok, well is it really a pick up? It looks bland, and the interior looks like a modified Tiguan. Very expensive, price also skyrockets when options are added. Looks fragile for any form of work. One dent and you’re looking at a big repair bill.

In Thailand, Ford builds the recently redesigned Ranger, Mazda produces the BT-50, Mitsubishi assembles the L200 and Toyota makes the Hilux. Pickups sold overseas aren't designed to meet rigorous U.S. crash and emissions regulations -- partly due to the high upfront cost imposed by the tariff -- and they're unlikely to resonate with U.S. truck buyers, says Dave Sullivan, an analyst with AutoPacific. It's not uncommon to find Ford, GMC, Chevrolet and Ram pickups loaded with leather interiors, premium audio systems and high-tech features that push the sale price upward of $50,000 -- status symbols as well as cargo haulers. Trucks found overseas are Spartan by comparison, often sold with manual transmissions and turbodiesel four-cylinder engines without the hauling power of full-size American pickups. "When you look at how we treat our trucks and how people do around the world, a lot of them wouldn't be able to withstand some of the same things, and they're not designed with American needs in mind," Sullivan said. "We've come to have a very refined and sophisticated pickup truck buyer." Toyota spokesman Scott Vazin said the size of the Hilux would make it a "tweener" in the U.S., overlapping too much with the full-size Tundra and midsize Tacoma.
