Every sercice will cost you approx 10000 rs for 15000 km. Overall maintance cost will be 0.65 rs per km. Service wont ever cost single ruppe more than 10 k rs. Parts cost of polo is 30% higher than maruti hyundai but polo is 50% more capable than maruti hyundai. Part failure rate is half compared to lower brands. For example suspension of my cars are still good at 1.1 lakh km. Disc pad lasted for 86 k km. But for maruti i dont thing suspension will last more than 70000 km. Only one part of polo is super costly than other cars which is clutch it cost around 30 k to replace all parts in cluth while maruti will do it in 15 k rs (whole clutch assembly not clutch plate) reason behind it than polo have 50% more power than other cars and 70% more torque so to handle this much power clutch need to be costly. I never replaced clutch or any part except one disc pad for 1800 rs. Car still drive like new and much better than brand new maruti hyundai cars.
Let me list the few i know, some may look very silly though ! Irrespective of the trim/variant, every Polo has a reach and rake (telescopic and tilt) adjustment for its steering wheel Every trim of a polo has a driver as well as a passenger air bag You can never identify what variant the Polo is looking at the badge. You can only know if it is a petrol or diesel car The body of every Polo is galvanized and has 6 years of anti corrosion warranty Every Polo has a rear fog lamp Every Polo has a height-adjustable driver's seat Every Polo has a Lane change indicator All 4 doors of a Polo opens to 90 degrees, ie three levels while most other brands do not open their doors as much as a Polo
I love it. I have the highline model and have driven it around for more than a year. It handles itself real good and is a pleasure to drive. The steering feels damn stable at high speeds and that gives you a sense of confidence while driving it. Move over 3rd gear and it flies. And it comes to a halt within seconds (rather fraction of seconds) in case you have to apply sudden breaks. The interiors are top notch in terms of quality. You get the premium feel as soon as you get inside the car. It may not have the stylish looks (interior dashboard design) like i20 but has a very decent and simple look (which I personally like). The build is solid. I mean SOLID. Try closing any door and you will know for yourself. The paint quality is good too. I have had few scratches :’( (made by highly creative kids :P) on it but they are not even visible until and unless you look closely. I always hear a lot of people complaining that its maintenance is too high but most of them do not even own one (not generalising but that is what I have experienced). It goes for servicing just once a year and the cost would be around 6–7k. One of my friends just got his 4+ yrs old polo serviced (after a gap of 1.5 yrs) and it still cost 6k. The parts may be costly but the quality you get is worth every penny.
The best features of the VW Polo are NOT listed on the brochure or on a Spec List. The best features are “felt”. Best in class build - The build quality, meaning the metals used for the body shell and plastics used inside are some of the best in its class. Best in class seats - I am not talking about the quality of leather or fabric (which by the way is also fantastic), I am talking about how comfortable the seats are and how they hug your body contour at high speeds. You almost sink into the comfortable seats. Best in class cornering - Try taking the Polo into a ghat section with lots of turns and twists and then speed up going on the incline. The Polo should be able to beat all other cars even those with twice the engine capacity. And, that’s because of the way the suspensions are set up. Best in class looks - The design is so simple that its timeless. Its gorgeous and you’ll never get tired of looking at it. Best in class transmission - This is the case if you happen to drive the DSG automatic. This transmission is unbeatable. One of the best in the world.
You ask this question, anytime day and/or night, I can keep going on and on and on…. Few of the multiple reasons for buying a VW Polo; Safer than ever, one of the major reason to buy a VW Polo. It was the only car a few years back that came with dual front airbags in all variants and continues it legacy. Laser welded top so that it does not tear and open-up in any unfortunate situation. The rock solid T bars taking all the pain over to save you in any unwelcomed incident. Such tough body is worth buying than giving away your life. Needless to say, it roars, all on your command. A 1.5L TDI/1.2L MPI, engine packed with power is bold, to be proud of. Power to people is just a slogan. With as much ease as it cruises down a city road, it zips with swag on the highways. And, not to forget, the Polo will be as steady as sturdy. Proven, no questions raised. Polo has been delighting for generations. The much loved German engineered hatchback has been redesigned and reimagined several times. And everytime, it became bolder, it became smarter, it became sportier. The other perks as a matter of choice available are; Electrically foldable side mirrors Cruise control ORVM with turn indicators Rain sensing wipers Coat hooks Front centre console including 12V outlet Driver side dead pedal Cooled glove box IRVM with anti glare adjustment 3 point seat belt Anti pinch/one touch power windows Tilt and telescopic steering wheel Touch to open file lid Steering wheel with controls for audio, Bluetooth and voice command Rear parking sensors Tatata tatata tatata!!!!!! With so much going for it, could it get any better? Feels that good? Sleek, is it not? Good things come in good looking package. Go for it. Happy motoring!
Do's first Drive hard and enjoy Always service at dealer Warm the diesel car in morning for at least two minutes before rolling Switch off lights and AC and let engine idle for 30 seconds before shutting down to avoid damage to turbo. Don,t Don’t Drive cold engine Don,t go in deep waters Don't repair at roadside workshops Don't use cheap engine oil and parts Don't add additive to fuel Don't eat/ drink inside car Don't remove front seat headrest Don't drive without seat belts Don't buy fuel sitting in car, get down and insure correct fuel diesel/ petrol is going in car.
Fuel economy? It depends on the size of the engine and the year of manufacture, as a 2000 VW Polo will have different fuel economy than that of, say, a 2017. Also, a 1.4L engine will have different fuel economy than a 1.0L engine. Typical mileage driven? That really depends on how the car is driven and how it is maintained. Comfortable city driving, or highway driving, while keeping the engine revs away from the redline, with regular oil changes and regular maintenance, such as water pump and timing belt dependents, will certainly last a lot longer than a car that is driven hard, at high engine revs, with oil changes and services pushed beyond the suggested intervals.
VW polos and other models generally are characterized by their reliability and rarely fail. But, like cars from other brands, they have their typical malfunctions. Some of them require the assistance of professionals. However, you can repair some common issues yourself with the help of step-by-step tutorials that can be found online. Some Polo owners report issues with the, engine,. A temperature sensor for working fluids is the most sensitive element of the engine cooling system. If it fails, the engine will start to run rough, which in turn increases warm-up time and sometimes fuel consumption. You can replace the sensor yourself with the help of repair instructions. On some Polos, a ,sealing element, of the crankcase ventilation valve can be damaged quickly. The problem can often be heard from unstable operation of the cold engine. Oil may leak near the oil filler neck. The sealing element is located in the engine compartment. To replace the part, simply loosen the fastening screws and detach the hose from the suction tube. You can easily do this from home. ,Learn more, here.
Firstly interesting to see that, for a first car , you are looking for second level of hatchbacks… I would suggest something like celerio /i10/Kwid as a first car… Anyways… Swift- till 2014, since elite i20 was launched , I would have said go for swift as a first car as Maruti is cheaper on the pocket. Elite i20- as the name suggests, everything about this car is for the elite. So obviously not pocket friendly Polo- the Indian version of the polo is not that great but I would suggest polo for younger generation people. So if you fall in that category, go for it bro!!
