I own a new model Tiguan (sep 2016 delivery) with the 2 liter petrol engine, 180hp, and 4 motion all wheel drive, dsg 7 speed double clutch gearbox, and pretty much most options. I bought it to replace a Volkwagen Touareg that I’ve owned for 12 years. The main reason I bought it is because it is pretty much the only vehicle in it’s class with 2500kg towing capacity. BMW X3, Mercedes GLC, Volvo XC60, Seat Ateca all are limited to 2100kg. A two-horse trailer with two horses comes in at about 2400kgs. I’ve used the horse trailer, and the 4WD system to good effect in muddy fields. Although the Tiguan is a much more nimble, faster and lighter car than the Touareg, it is almost as big inside. Since my kids have grown up, I actually don’t need the full size SUV. Mine has all the modern driving aids and most options. I’ve driven 36019 km with the car up until today (Aug 22nd, 2017). Had one long life service, primarily an oil change at 30000 kms. Pro: Fuel economy: 12,49 km/l over its lifetime, but the last 3 months averaging at 13,4 km/l or 7,2 l / 100 km — however, I drive mostly in economy mode Great towing capacity for size of car; Excellent handling and comfort; Full LED dynamic lighting, digital dash display, HUD, Digital Audio Broadcasting… excellent; Wonderful panorama roof; Drives itself in stop-and-go traffic. Keeps in lane, keeps distance, and brakes to full stop and accelerates. Really useful if you drive a lot during rush hour. Cons: The collision avoidance system occasionally alerts too easily / soon; Until the first software update, some advanced systems did not work correctly (the speed sign recognition system, the handsfree tail liftgate), or occasionally showed intermittent faults (the adaptive cruise control). These have all been resolved; All in all, I am very happy with the purchase, and would recommend it.
The 2013 Volkswagen Tiguan is primarily known for carlike ride and ease-to-use controls. However, many owners complain about lack of cargo space and compromised fuel economy.
Modern engine design, special coatings on cylinder walls, SYNTHETIC engine oils designed to last 3 X longer than older organic engine oils. 0W-20 becoming common and it has the added advantage of contributing to engine efficiency and enhancing FUEL ECONOMY. One of the biggest wastes is changing oil 3000 mi Mobil 1 is excellent but has more competition now from other brands. Look for sales by the case, coupons, etc at Costco, WalMart A good service establishment won’t mind customers who bring their own engine oil.
Having recently driven or ridden several small and mid-sized SUVs, I was surprised by how high the noise level was the Honda CRV. As for the Toyota RAV4, the ride was comfortable and the noise level was acceptable. If you enjoy driving, rather than view driving as a pain to be endured, I agree with Mr. Reznik and Mr. Ros that the Mazda CX5 is a joy to drive and returns exceptional economy for such a vehicle. Subaru is the company responsible for the current obsession with all wheel drive, and most manufacturers have joined the band wagon. I have driven Subaru vehicles in severe snow storms in Maine, and they are exceptionally good at maintaining traction in such conditions. But many drivers of all wheel drive cars do not understand that stopping distances on a snow covered or icy road is not enhanced by all wheel drive. Still, I see people who never see snow or ice buying all wheel drive cars because they believe such cars are safer. The only way an all wheel drive car is safer on a dry road might be if you drive at ridiculously dangerous rally speeds. I recently drove a base model 2015 Volkswagen Tiguan equipped with a 2 liter gasoline engine and a six speed automatic transmission. If I had to write an article for Car and Driver comparing the Tiguan to the CX5, I would find both cars superb examples of how it feels to drive a well designed car that has a great deal of interior space. I'd rate both cars as providing superior handling and braking, give the Tiguan a slight edge on quietness and ride quality, and the CX5 the edge for exceptional fuel economy. The Subaru Forester and the VW Tiguan have the best all around visibility. Thank you for your question.
The Volkswagen Tiguan, is a good choice, in my opinion. One of it highlights is the indoor space and carrying capacity. This SUV is available in three different versions and in the largest of them it is possible to transport up to 7 people. In smaller versions the transport capacity is 5 people. In all versions, occupants travel safely and comfortably. Also, all the rear seats and the passenger seat are fully foldable which makes the Tiguan's carrying capacity even bigger. Many drivers will also like its ,fuel economy,. The fuel consumption of the Tiguan is a good thing if we take into account its size, weight and load capacity. The SUV has fuel consumption rates very similar to its competitors and in some cases has ,even better figures,. In other words, it's everything that many people want, that is, good value, lots of space, comfort and great fuel consumption.
From the question, it says that you are looking a SUV in the budget of 20–30 lakhs. Jeep Compass It comes in price range of Rs. 15.35–22.11 lakhs. Looking at the dimensions, Compass is better than the Tucson and Tiguan for city drives as it is shorter in length, width and height as well. The compass gets its exterior as well as interior designs from the Jeep’s Grand Cherokee. In interiors it gets leather touches like on the steering wheel and armrests. It has the lowest wheelbase among the three but still it has enough knee room for the rear row. It also has the lowest boot capacity of 438 L. It has a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It gets 6 airbags, TCS, ESP and ABS. But it misses the Brake Assist and Hill Descent which its rivals gets. There is another disappointment which is the sunroof. Even the top variant doesn’t offer any sunroof. It gets projector headlamps and LED tail lamps but misses the automatic headlamp feature which isn’t a much required feature. Coming to the engine, it comes with 1.4 L petrol engine which produces 158 bhp power and 2.0 L diesel engine which produces 170 bhp power. It comes with both 2WD and 4WD. When it comes to off-roading, it is ok types as it performs well in the segment. Its Mud mode makes it a bit easier to handle on muddy and slippery roads. But the 178 mm ground clearance makes a little disappointment. Hyundai Tucson It comes in the price range of Rs. 18.99–24.99 lakhs. The Hyundai Tucson with the hexagonal chrome grills and new LED lamps makes it look modern and more attractive. When seen from rear, one surely will misjudge it as a Creta. Also its new build quality is more smooth and the vibration are felt less as compared to its second generation model. In interior, it gets a 8-inch touchscreen on the dashboard which is easy to use with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. It also gets auto headlamps, keyless entry, cruise control, six airbags, ESP. It gets leather touch on dash top, armrest, steering wheel and gear knob. Being the widest in the segment, it has enough space for the rear row. It has a 513 L boot capacity which is more than the Jeep has. But it disappoints as this too doesn’t get any sunroof. Coming to the engine, it gets a 2.0L four cylinder turbocharged diesel engine which produces 183 bhp power. It also gets a 6-speed automatic transmission system. It is little disappointing as it feels little noisier inside. It also gets driving modes, like eco mode and sports mode. For off-roading it is almost good with a ground clearance of 195 mm. Volkswagen Tiguan It comes in a price range of Rs. 27–31.5 lakhs. The Volkswagen Tiguan was meant to compete the Jeep Compass and the Hyundai Tucson, but with its high price tag even competes with the Fortuner and the Endeavour as an alternative in the price range of Rs. 30–35 lakhs. Also it competes as a cheaper alternative to the premium Audi Q3, Mercedes-Benz GLA and the BMW X1. The new Tiguan is more longer than the Compass and the Tucson. It also gets the longest wheelbase among the three. It gets horizontal grills that stretches to the headlamps. But that doesn’t seem appealing. In the inside, the dash design is simple. Also the seating height is better than the other two which makes us feel comfortable while getting in and out. The rear seats are also more comfortable than the other two. The black cabin always feels gentle. It also gets a boot capacity of 615 L which is more than the Tucson and much more than the Compass. It gets a touchscreen infotainment system which has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, which also gets a feature of mobile mirroring. This car can impress anyone with its features like panoramic sunroof, cruise control and the most important three zone climate control AC, keyless entry, six airbags, front and rear parking sensors and ESP as well. Coming to engine, it is gets a 2.0L Diesel engine which can produce 141 bhp power. It gets a 7-speed automatic gear transmission system. Hence, it is more stable at higher speeds than the other two. But still it feels a lag than the other two as it produces the least power. It also comes with drive modes like snow mode and off-road mode. But it’s ground clearance of 150 mm isn’t impressive. Now coming to the fuel economy, all three are claimed to give 16 kmpl mileage. But when you come to the success in market, it is the Jeep Compass among the three. My personal views, go for Tiguan if you want a comfortable SUV with a premium feel. Go for the Tucson if you want a perfect family SUV. Go for the Compass if you want a SUV to experience fun while driving and a mixture of other two. Hope this helps. Thank You!
This is a false and misleading statement that is disguised as a question. Fact 1: There are not many car crashes which lead to fires. Using US statistics: There are over 5 million car crashes per year in the US. From 2014 to 2016, an estimated 171,500 highway vehicle fires occurred in the United States. That’s just over 60,000 car fires. This is a car fire rate of just around 1% 83.3% of these (2014–2016 statistics) are non commercial vehicles. 1.6% of this 1% are related to the fuel tank or fuel line. Over 60% are related to the engine area, running gear. These statistics don’t determine which car is at fault, what type of car it is nor whether it is a fault of the vehicle. What is released in the US though are death rates per crash, released on a 4 year cycle by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety and the Highway Loss Data Institute. More on these statistics and the end of this discussion. When there are found to be faults on a vehicle that can contribute to an accident, death, or in the case of your question fire, manufacturers must recall their vehicles. There are a couple of recalls that are related to possible, potential fire causing situations on Mazda vehicles. The two current recalls of note are: US recall 16V064000 - 2014-2016 Mazda CX-5 vehicles manufactured in Japan from June 27, 2013, to February 2, 2016 have a fuel filler pipe that may rupture in the event of a crash. Interesting to note that: a) due to Mazda having extremely varied specifications per country, this recall only impacted the North American market. All other markets had additional protection that prevented this. It is understood to be a variation that is due to Mazda USA specification errors and this led to requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 301, "Fuel System Integrity." not being passed. b) in this case, it would have led to a potential fire in a rear end crash, rather than a frontal crash. 2. The Mazda BT-50 Ute manufactured by Ford in Thailand has been recalled where it was noted that the exhaust was so close to the ground, that caused by grass catching fire because of its proximity to the exhaust system. Fact 2: Statistically, Mazda vehicles have been shown to be very safe Now back to car accident data. In the latest report, by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety and the Highway Loss Data Institute, many well known brands make both the highest rate and lowest rate list. (The statistics are noted in rates - which means that it is based on a per vehicle sold, rather than total vehicles sold). In this latest data (which includes non Ford models post 2012), Mazda does very well (worth noting that the 2nd gen, Ford influence Mazda 6 did feature on the list that year (being the best of the worst) - but was among many brands such as Honda, Kia, Hyundai. Meanwhile in the old data, the previous generation CX-9 was at the bottom of the best list. In the latest data, the previous generation Mazda CX-9 was one of the few recent vehicles to have zero fatalities in this report year. The CX-5 had several fatalities in crashes, but average among the group. See: ,Stronger economy means higher death rate This is the list of 0 fatality vehicles (2017 report, 2014 data, 2014 model vehicles): Audi A6 4WD Audi Q7 4WD BMW 535i/is 2WD BMW 535xi 4WD Jeep Cherokee 4WD Lexus CT 200h Lexus RX 350 2WD Mazda CX-9 2WD Mercedes-Benz M-Class 4WD Toyota Tacoma Double Cab long bed 4WD Volkswagen Tiguan 2WD
India has been one of the largest car markets across the globe. There have been some good players and bad over the years and then there were some that failed miserably in catching the attention of the customers. In the next few slides, I bring you the most flop cars India has ever got. The list also includes many fun to drive cars but they flopped as their is a price sensitive market. Ford Fusion was one of the unique looking cars of its time. The car has some SUVish looks but despite that, it was not able to do any wonders for the company. The car was on sale for almost four years in India.Ford Fusion was one of the unique looking cars of its time. The car has some SUVish looks but despite that, it was not able to do any wonders for the company. The car was on sale for almost four years in India. 03 / 8The Mitsubishi Cedia is a fun to drive car but still it did failed to catch the attention of the customers. The car had a superb handling but its poor fuel economy is one of the reasons why it failed in India and the manufacturer had to discontinue it in the year 2013. 04 / 8The Mahindra Verito Vibe is the trimmed down version of the Verito and it was less than 4 metres. The car failed in the Indian market possibly due to its looks that were not accepted generously by the customers. 05 / 8Maruti Suzuki Kizashi was country’s leading carmaker’s first attempt in entering the luxury sedan territory. However, the expectations of the company backfired due to the high price tag of the car as it arrived via the CBU route. The price of Maruti Kizashi at that time was close to Rs 18 lakh. 06 / 8The Chevrolet Sail U-VA failed to meet the expectations of the company due to its high price tag when compared to its rivals. Also, the car had a disproportionate design that made things difficult for it to sustain in the Indian car market. 07 / 8The Mahindra Quanto was the company’s compact crossover and one of the prime reasons behind its failure is its looks. The Quanto had a quite disproportionate design and the rear end looked like unsatisfactory. This coupled to the high kerb weight of the car worked against its favour. 08 / 8The Ford Mondeo sold in good numbers in the international markets but in India, it did not saw much success. The car was a good value for money but buyers did not find it good enough in front of its rivals like Camry and Accord. Hyundai Elantra. The Hyundai Elantra's market is mostly absorbed by the Verna. Volkswagen Tiguan. The Volkswagen Tiguan is a really good five-seater compact-SUV, but it's the pricing which has caused its downfall. Nissan Terrano. Renault Lodgy. Fiat Punto Evo. Volkswagen Passat. Tata Nano. Toyota Camry Hybrid . Are some others.
2020 Vehicles with CD Players as Standard Equipment Below are results from my recent car-buying research (countless hours spent on manufacturers’ websites and looking through their glossy brochures) on cars that can still play CDs. I still buy CDs and listen to CDs from independent street musicians, who sell them while busking, or from low-income ethnic minorities who rely on vending CDs to supplement their income. This is my way of supporting my local culture and economy, rather than sending my dollars to big tech for streaming. I suggest when shopping at a dealership mention that you are seeking a particular car because it has a CD player. That way they know there is still significant demand for CDs. Parentheses indicate that CD player only comes in trims listed within. Models where CD player can be added as an option are on next list that immediately follows.
