From the question, it says that you are looking a SUV in the budget of 20–30 lakhs. Jeep Compass It comes in price range of Rs. 15.35–22.11 lakhs. Looking at the dimensions, Compass is better than the Tucson and Tiguan for city drives as it is shorter in length, width and height as well. The compass gets its exterior as well as interior designs from the Jeep’s Grand Cherokee. In interiors it gets leather touches like on the steering wheel and armrests. It has the lowest wheelbase among the three but still it has enough knee room for the rear row. It also has the lowest boot capacity of 438 L. It has a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It gets 6 airbags, TCS, ESP and ABS. But it misses the Brake Assist and Hill Descent which its rivals gets. There is another disappointment which is the sunroof. Even the top variant doesn’t offer any sunroof. It gets projector headlamps and LED tail lamps but misses the automatic headlamp feature which isn’t a much required feature. Coming to the engine, it comes with 1.4 L petrol engine which produces 158 bhp power and 2.0 L diesel engine which produces 170 bhp power. It comes with both 2WD and 4WD. When it comes to off-roading, it is ok types as it performs well in the segment. Its Mud mode makes it a bit easier to handle on muddy and slippery roads. But the 178 mm ground clearance makes a little disappointment. Hyundai Tucson It comes in the price range of Rs. 18.99–24.99 lakhs. The Hyundai Tucson with the hexagonal chrome grills and new LED lamps makes it look modern and more attractive. When seen from rear, one surely will misjudge it as a Creta. Also its new build quality is more smooth and the vibration are felt less as compared to its second generation model. In interior, it gets a 8-inch touchscreen on the dashboard which is easy to use with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. It also gets auto headlamps, keyless entry, cruise control, six airbags, ESP. It gets leather touch on dash top, armrest, steering wheel and gear knob. Being the widest in the segment, it has enough space for the rear row. It has a 513 L boot capacity which is more than the Jeep has. But it disappoints as this too doesn’t get any sunroof. Coming to the engine, it gets a 2.0L four cylinder turbocharged diesel engine which produces 183 bhp power. It also gets a 6-speed automatic transmission system. It is little disappointing as it feels little noisier inside. It also gets driving modes, like eco mode and sports mode. For off-roading it is almost good with a ground clearance of 195 mm. Volkswagen Tiguan It comes in a price range of Rs. 27–31.5 lakhs. The Volkswagen Tiguan was meant to compete the Jeep Compass and the Hyundai Tucson, but with its high price tag even competes with the Fortuner and the Endeavour as an alternative in the price range of Rs. 30–35 lakhs. Also it competes as a cheaper alternative to the premium Audi Q3, Mercedes-Benz GLA and the BMW X1. The new Tiguan is more longer than the Compass and the Tucson. It also gets the longest wheelbase among the three. It gets horizontal grills that stretches to the headlamps. But that doesn’t seem appealing. In the inside, the dash design is simple. Also the seating height is better than the other two which makes us feel comfortable while getting in and out. The rear seats are also more comfortable than the other two. The black cabin always feels gentle. It also gets a boot capacity of 615 L which is more than the Tucson and much more than the Compass. It gets a touchscreen infotainment system which has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, which also gets a feature of mobile mirroring. This car can impress anyone with its features like panoramic sunroof, cruise control and the most important three zone climate control AC, keyless entry, six airbags, front and rear parking sensors and ESP as well. Coming to engine, it is gets a 2.0L Diesel engine which can produce 141 bhp power. It gets a 7-speed automatic gear transmission system. Hence, it is more stable at higher speeds than the other two. But still it feels a lag than the other two as it produces the least power. It also comes with drive modes like snow mode and off-road mode. But it’s ground clearance of 150 mm isn’t impressive. Now coming to the fuel economy, all three are claimed to give 16 kmpl mileage. But when you come to the success in market, it is the Jeep Compass among the three. My personal views, go for Tiguan if you want a comfortable SUV with a premium feel. Go for the Tucson if you want a perfect family SUV. Go for the Compass if you want a SUV to experience fun while driving and a mixture of other two. Hope this helps. Thank You!
How is it that my new Volkswagen Tiguan doesn't require an oil change until 10,000 miles? All of my previous cars required oil changes every 3,000 miles. The manufacturer may suggest 10k miles between oil changes but that’s way too much. Here’s the Issue, ALL EUROPEAN cars (this VW, Porsche, BMW, Audi, Mercedes-Benz), the first oil that’s put into it are, ALL SYNTHETIC MOTOR OIL,. That’s all the Europeans use and that they recommend is Synthetic motor oil. IF you lift the hood of a Mercedes-Benz and Porsche there is even a sticker on the front grill frame that recommends a brand Mobil 1 Synthetic by Mobil oil company. That said, ,I change my oil every 5 k miles, ,why? because it’s just enough for ,Synthetic., ,3,000 is too little. 5k is just right, 10k ,is too much (meaning too far in between oil changes). I use the cheapest Synthetic Motor Oil I can find, which a no-name-generic brand that Walmart carries in a 5 quart jug for about $18. I’m told of all the Synthetics Pennzoil is the best because it is PURE and REAL Synthetic. Pennzoil sued and lost the case. But Pennzoil claims their oil is the only synthetic because it’s made from natural gas and not further refined Crude oil or Petroleum-based oil. You can always change the MOTOR OIL MORE OFTEN. But don’t let it go further then the recommended change. But here’s what you need to know, no matter how good they filter the oil. Each combustion in the cylinder creates “CARBON MONOXIDE AND CARBON DEPOSITS”. Your motor oil in your engine is in a closed loop. Nothing from the OUTSIDE can get in., Except those Carbon deposits from each and every combustion. They get in the motor oil through the rings and cylinder walls and the valve guides and valve seals. So NEW MOTOR OIL will look like or have a Golden hue to it when your check your dipstick. It’s just a tad tan or darker than kitchen oil / cooking oil like Canola Corn oil. As the motor oil ages; it will collect carbon exhaust and slowly turn darker-and-darker and more brown. FRESH SYNTHETIC MOTOR OIL SHOULD LOOK LIKE THIS: So check your motor oil at 5k, and you will see it’s no longer a golden hue color on the oil dipstick. Time to change the oil. Don’t wait for the 10k miles. Now, a word to the wise. Whether you change the oil yourself or go to those Jiffy Lube places. Save the receipts file them in a large manila envelope. You don’t have to take the car to the dealer for these oil changes. I’m busy so to save money and time, what I do is buy the Oil filter and the Synthetic Motor oil and then I go to my LOCAL JIFFY LUBE. And they will change my oil for $20., Quick in and out in less than 1 minutes. It’s worth it. I pay them cash and I’m on my way. I save the Oil receipt that I bought from Walmart as proof. The reason your keep the receipts is there was a lawsuit once where the dealer failed to honor the warranty because they said the guy never changed the oil. He showed them his receipts but the dealer didn’t believe him. Well he sued the dealer and the courts believed him. And he Won the lawsuit. I use to always change my own MOTOR OIL with ALWAYS USING SYNTHETIC MOTOR OIL. ============================================================ Here is a similar question I’ve answered on the number of cars I’ve owned that had high mileage and how long they lasted me. Stanley Hutchinson's answer to Have you driven a reliable car past 175,000 miles? Was it worth it? What kind of car? Yes, I’ve owned 4 cars that have gone way over 175k miles. 1986 Volvo 740 Turbo Intercooled 4-door sedan, ,(320k miles), at the time I sold it. (Trans rebuilt once; head gasket once; turbo rebuilt 2 times; original engine the whole time) 1996 Ford Ranger Extra-cab 4.0L V6. I sold it with 450k miles on it., And I still see the guy driving it around town. (Trans rebuilt once; and one catalytic converter replaced once; original engine) 1991 Mercedes-Benz 300D 2.5L 5 Cylinder turbo diesel; it had 350k miles on it, (trans rebuilt twice; cylinder head rebuilt and new rings) (when my elderly dad wrecked it in the rain, he’s okay but the car was totaled) 1999 Mercedes-Benz 300E Straight 6 Cylinder turbo diesel; 260k miles (,transmission rebuilt once) 1987 Mercedes-Benz 190D 2.5L 5 Cylinder turbo diesel 250k miles ,original engine; trans rebuilt once. 2002 Toyota Highlander SUV 2.4L 4 cylinder; still going strong, still driving it with 150k miles., Original engine and transmission. Was it worth it? DEFINITELY, MOST DEFINITELY, you don’t know what a relief it is when that last car payment is over. Now you only have to pay car insurance, Registration once a year, and preventative maintenance: Like oil changes, new tires, batteries, brakes mostly, radiator fluid, Transmission fluid. on ALL my cars I did all the following: Synthetic Motor Oil - every 5k miles Synthetic Transmission Oil - once a year Synthetic Gear Oil - once every 2 years Synthetic Power Steering fluid - once a years Synthetic DOT Brake fluid - flushed each year Radiator fluid - power flushed every year. And if it was gas powered? Petro for you Europeans? I always ran High Octane. Diesel is diesel. ,And contrary to what anybody tells you? Pink diesel is the same as ,diesel #2. ,It’s just ,no. 2 is taxed heavier, for cars and passenger vehicles and commercial vehicles. While Pink diesel, ,was designed to farm equipment, off-road, generators, boats, airplanes and it’s not taxed as heavily,. it was to, give farmers a break on diesel prices, to run their tractors and farm equipment so they ,added a pink/red dye ,to tell which one diesel it is. And you can get fined heavily to try to cheat in the U.S.. **if you like this answer or find it helpful please give me an upvote below - Thanks**
Question: When did you realise that you were in over your head on a car? Answer: When I bought the Volvo XC90 Inscription 2016. I was in need of a bigger luxury car and since I don’t like to buy them brand new I decided to look in for some. A 6–8 seater was a must so I really didn’t have plenty of options. After months of research I narrowed it down to the earlier versions of Volvo XC90. 2010–2014 models. My priorities were safety, mileage and maintenance. I was after a particular engine too on this 👆🏼 one, 5 cylinders & 2.4 litres. I knew they were going to be affordable and would be easy to maintain. So, I started looking for cars with low miles on them and then approaching their owners. We finally found one and went to the garage to see it. It had some work to be done especially the leather seats as they were a bit worn out. So the salesman told us that it should be ready in a week or so. He did show us another option a Land Rover Discovery 4 with low miles but it had 6 cylinders and 3 litres engine on it. But, now they were going to be a bit expensive and we definitely would have to stretch our budget. So, I thought why not check some new cars. We then checked a Hyundai Santa Fe and it was fabulous to be driven in. Great shockers and plenty of room for everyone. Again plenty of room with 7 seats. Another option was the new Peugeot 5008 and I really liked it. It was a bit tight and not much spacious. It looked great inside and out and had digital odometers and display panel too. That’s when I realised how far the dashboard of these new cars have come. Then, we were in for a Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace but then they told me that it wasn’t available and we would have to wait for a month. Until now, I was hovering around $40,000 AUD to buy a ‘Brand new’ 7 seater SUV. Until I saw these two 👇🏼😍 at a dealership, which specialised only in 2nd hand Volvos. A Volvo XC90 T6 momentum And a Volvo XC90 D5 inscription. Until now, I had driven cars with only petrol engines on them. So I was a bit doubtful about the D5 Inscription as it had a Diesel engine. After hearing the prices on them I was a bit perplexed🤔 that too when they were almost double the price of the brand new cars I could get into. And these were 2nd hand just 2 & half years old with almost 50,000 Kms on them. I really did like the inscription for its grille and wheels, it was just white and silver everywhere. I wasn’t sure that I would be able to afford it. They had plenty of space and extras. I really did like the front panel which had minimalistic buttons on it and almost everything was just being controlled by a small iPad like screen. So, either I had to go for one of the above two or go for a new Volvo XC90 Inscription which would have cost me 3 times my initial budget. Finally we took a small test drive and found it to be very comfortable and spacious. The turbo Diesel engine was pretty quick and didn’t have much noise too. We finally agreed that inscription was the final choice. I knew I was ‘over my head’ on this car but I couldn’t think of anything else. More to say I was “Head over heels” in love with this car. I did all the paperwork and just sat down wishing I could bring it home soon. And finally when I got the call I was really happy. So finally, we settled the amount and bought it and till date I haven’t regretted my decision. It has done wonders for me. I drive it everywhere to work and even around the city with kids and on some trips around the state. It has been to Mountains, freeways, dirt roads, beaches and almost everywhere and has never disappointed me in the past few years. I knew I was paying a hefty amount just to buy one piece of luxury but finally, it did prove that it was worth it. So far so good 🤟🏼. 😊 EDIT- ‘Sometimes you just got to listen to both your brain and heart at the same time 😅’ Council Post: Change Leadership: Why Your Head, Heart And Gut Are Critical To Listen To
The Compass is a seriously impressive SUV, that seems to take full advantage of Jeep's experience with SUVs. In fact, look deep into its headlights, past that seven-slot grille, and you can see the years and years of know-how shining through. Prices for the Compass diesel start at a very competitive Rs 15.45 lakh (ex showroom Delhi), with this top-of-the-line Limited (O) 4 X 4 going for Rs 20.65 lakh. What you get for your money is real off-road ability, strong dynamics and plenty of luxury and comfort on the inside. Sure, the touchscreen isn't really what's expected of a car in this class and there are important bits of kit missing, like a sunroof; and those interested will have to contend with Fiat's less-than-fantastic dealer network. Rear seat comfort could have been better for this segment, and those looking for a diesel automatic SUV will be disappointed as the Compass will get that only at a later stage. But this SUV's fundamentals are so strong, it's difficult not to compare it to cars from a class above, like the Volkswagen Tiguan which is a lot more expensive at where it stands today. And that's the real kicker – the Compass may just be the value luxury SUV you have been waiting for. It's a off-road car but not that much good at off-roading.
The French automaker is coming to India in 2021 finally. The automaker will launch its first car for India in the Month of March-April with its C5 Aircross. The fact is the car is assembled in Tamil Nadu, India Now let us talk about the car in-depth:- C5 aircross is a Mid SUV car that will directly compete with Hyundai Tucson, Volkswagen Tiguan, Jeep Compass, and Skoda karoq. Now the images of the Indian car version are out,. Estimate price is around:- 28lakhs (ex-showroom) Exterior:- The Aircross has a very appealing and unique design with a split front grille. The daytime running led lights running across the bonnet will definitely make it look more attractive on road. We can see fog lamps, a good chrome sort of treatment and more with comparison to human anatomy the nose(i.e the logo integration) is looking like someone punched it and made it look like this. *though the overall design from the front is Good* There is a Dual-tone option that will look more sporty. A, B, C pillars are also coated in all black with a chrome line on the top starting from between A and B pillar and continues on the C pillar and the also cover the windows from the bottom side. From the backside, the headlights of the car look similar to the ones in the Kia carnival. The overall look from the back looks very ovalish in design but very generous Other highlights include a roof-mounted spoiler, vents at the side, parking sensors, and plastic cladding at the bottom with non-functional chrome exhaust tailpipes. Interior:- The interior of the car looks premium It has a massive panoramic sunroof which brings a lot of air inside the cabin. There is a square pad on the steering wheel which has a lot of functions on offer and there is a piano black finish on the third center part of the steering wheel There a different styles of gear levers present and also the car has various drivetrain on offer (Snow, Sand, All Terrain, Standard, and Traction Control Off. ) The central console has an 8-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The 12.3-inch digital driver’s display features three different views: personal, dual, and minimum modes. Safety is covered by six airbags, ABS with EBD, parking sensors, electronic stability control, and a blind spot monitoring system Notable features include a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, seats with memory foam for added comfort, ambient lighting, air purifier, powered driver’s seat, cruise control, and a powered tailgate. The single powertrain on the C5 Aircross is the 2.0-liter diesel engine with an output of 175bhp and 400Nm of torque mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters sending power to the front wheels. It is also equipped with four grip modes – standard, snow, all-terrain, and sand. Important question alert !!!!! Kitna deti hai? *mileage* This powertrain is claimed to return a fuel efficiency of 18.60kmpl. It has a massive boot space on offer, the C5 Aircross’ boot is capable of accommodating 580 liters of luggage Well last but not least Citreon is known for its comfort after all. C5 Aircross will be no different, with the carmaker’s ‘Progressive Hydraulic Cushion’ suspension system. If your pocket has the depth to buy this go for it as these specs are good enough it can provide you with great comfort and many such things you know as well if you have read till here. Before buying wait for the aftersales performance(service, maintenance, parts availability, etc) by the company, and after knowing all this go for it. The overall package it provides is very good.
