I own a new model Tiguan (sep 2016 delivery) with the 2 liter petrol engine, 180hp, and 4 motion all wheel drive, dsg 7 speed double clutch gearbox, and pretty much most options. I bought it to replace a Volkwagen Touareg that I’ve owned for 12 years. The main reason I bought it is because it is pretty much the only vehicle in it’s class with 2500kg towing capacity. BMW X3, Mercedes GLC, Volvo XC60, Seat Ateca all are limited to 2100kg. A two-horse trailer with two horses comes in at about 2400kgs. I’ve used the horse trailer, and the 4WD system to good effect in muddy fields. Although the Tiguan is a much more nimble, faster and lighter car than the Touareg, it is almost as big inside. Since my kids have grown up, I actually don’t need the full size SUV. Mine has all the modern driving aids and most options. I’ve driven 36019 km with the car up until today (Aug 22nd, 2017). Had one long life service, primarily an oil change at 30000 kms. Pro: Fuel economy: 12,49 km/l over its lifetime, but the last 3 months averaging at 13,4 km/l or 7,2 l / 100 km — however, I drive mostly in economy mode Great towing capacity for size of car; Excellent handling and comfort; Full LED dynamic lighting, digital dash display, HUD, Digital Audio Broadcasting… excellent; Wonderful panorama roof; Drives itself in stop-and-go traffic. Keeps in lane, keeps distance, and brakes to full stop and accelerates. Really useful if you drive a lot during rush hour. Cons: The collision avoidance system occasionally alerts too easily / soon; Until the first software update, some advanced systems did not work correctly (the speed sign recognition system, the handsfree tail liftgate), or occasionally showed intermittent faults (the adaptive cruise control). These have all been resolved; All in all, I am very happy with the purchase, and would recommend it.
The Compass is a seriously impressive SUV, that seems to take full advantage of Jeep's experience with SUVs. In fact, look deep into its headlights, past that seven-slot grille, and you can see the years and years of know-how shining through. Prices for the Compass diesel start at a very competitive Rs 15.45 lakh (ex showroom Delhi), with this top-of-the-line Limited (O) 4 X 4 going for Rs 20.65 lakh. What you get for your money is real off-road ability, strong dynamics and plenty of luxury and comfort on the inside. Sure, the touchscreen isn't really what's expected of a car in this class and there are important bits of kit missing, like a sunroof; and those interested will have to contend with Fiat's less-than-fantastic dealer network. Rear seat comfort could have been better for this segment, and those looking for a diesel automatic SUV will be disappointed as the Compass will get that only at a later stage. But this SUV's fundamentals are so strong, it's difficult not to compare it to cars from a class above, like the Volkswagen Tiguan which is a lot more expensive at where it stands today. And that's the real kicker – the Compass may just be the value luxury SUV you have been waiting for. It's a off-road car but not that much good at off-roading.
My 2002 Cadillac requires Mobil1, so the oil and filter cost more. The cars computer tells me when to change oil, which goes past 10,000 miles the way I drive. It also requires 8 quarts of oil, it’s a NorthStar 300hp V8. On straight level roads it gets 32 mpg, on hilly roads like from Montgomery to Birmingham, it only gets 28 mpg. After all these 18 years, the inside of the engine still looks just like new, not a trace of sludge, head looks just like it did when new. SO, I pay a little more?, but it’s worth it. Besides, Mobil1 shows about 10% more horsepower than any other oil on the engine dyno. That’s per “Smokey” Unick himself. I started using it back in 1966, never had to take an oil pan off yet.
Actually, it could be blowing out ambient air temperature, or the air surrounding the automobile at the temperature it is at, not the refrigerated air inside the automobile. If you had the air set to recirculate, that would probably make a difference for a little while, but the interior air temp would soon heat up to outside air temperature….Or, it could be that the hot water valve is in the open or part open position for the heater and that could cause this problem as well. Have your mechanic or dealer check it out…
The French automaker is coming to India in 2021 finally. The automaker will launch its first car for India in the Month of March-April with its C5 Aircross. The fact is the car is assembled in Tamil Nadu, India Now let us talk about the car in-depth:- C5 aircross is a Mid SUV car that will directly compete with Hyundai Tucson, Volkswagen Tiguan, Jeep Compass, and Skoda karoq. Now the images of the Indian car version are out,. Estimate price is around:- 28lakhs (ex-showroom) Exterior:- The Aircross has a very appealing and unique design with a split front grille. The daytime running led lights running across the bonnet will definitely make it look more attractive on road. We can see fog lamps, a good chrome sort of treatment and more with comparison to human anatomy the nose(i.e the logo integration) is looking like someone punched it and made it look like this. *though the overall design from the front is Good* There is a Dual-tone option that will look more sporty. A, B, C pillars are also coated in all black with a chrome line on the top starting from between A and B pillar and continues on the C pillar and the also cover the windows from the bottom side. From the backside, the headlights of the car look similar to the ones in the Kia carnival. The overall look from the back looks very ovalish in design but very generous Other highlights include a roof-mounted spoiler, vents at the side, parking sensors, and plastic cladding at the bottom with non-functional chrome exhaust tailpipes. Interior:- The interior of the car looks premium It has a massive panoramic sunroof which brings a lot of air inside the cabin. There is a square pad on the steering wheel which has a lot of functions on offer and there is a piano black finish on the third center part of the steering wheel There a different styles of gear levers present and also the car has various drivetrain on offer (Snow, Sand, All Terrain, Standard, and Traction Control Off. ) The central console has an 8-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The 12.3-inch digital driver’s display features three different views: personal, dual, and minimum modes. Safety is covered by six airbags, ABS with EBD, parking sensors, electronic stability control, and a blind spot monitoring system Notable features include a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, seats with memory foam for added comfort, ambient lighting, air purifier, powered driver’s seat, cruise control, and a powered tailgate. The single powertrain on the C5 Aircross is the 2.0-liter diesel engine with an output of 175bhp and 400Nm of torque mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters sending power to the front wheels. It is also equipped with four grip modes – standard, snow, all-terrain, and sand. Important question alert !!!!! Kitna deti hai? *mileage* This powertrain is claimed to return a fuel efficiency of 18.60kmpl. It has a massive boot space on offer, the C5 Aircross’ boot is capable of accommodating 580 liters of luggage Well last but not least Citreon is known for its comfort after all. C5 Aircross will be no different, with the carmaker’s ‘Progressive Hydraulic Cushion’ suspension system. If your pocket has the depth to buy this go for it as these specs are good enough it can provide you with great comfort and many such things you know as well if you have read till here. Before buying wait for the aftersales performance(service, maintenance, parts availability, etc) by the company, and after knowing all this go for it. The overall package it provides is very good. We did a lot of new car shopping before deciding on our 2019 vehicle. Five suv's survived the cut: ford escape, toyota rav4, subaru forester, vw tiguan, and the honda crv. In the end our top 3 were the toyota, the vw, and the honda. We drove the honda crv over to the vw dealership, with the dealers permission, to do a very intensive side by side comparison. The two best features of the tiguan were price and warranty, I believe the tiguan would end up costing 3k less than the crv, and the vw also offered a 6 year warranty. There is a reason for this. In every other way, the honda was more impressive than the vw. First, nothing broke on the honda while we were operating every knob, lever, and button opening/closing and powering up all systems . The vw did not fair as well. Second, the info system on the honda makes sense. It will tell you what you need to know. The vw's system looks pretty, but i dare anyone to make sense out of the fuel mileage indicator. The interior room offered by the crv is also bigger than the vw, and the rear seats fold flat, unlike the vw, with a simple pull of a lever just inside the hatchback. The vw does however offer third row seating for smaller folks, however i believe this compromises the addition of a spare tire. The ride is perhaps the biggest difference when comparing these two vehicles. The vw vibrated, was noisy, and the automatic shifted like all automatics shift- smooth at times, with a bit of bucking bronco here and there. The crv was wonderful in every way. In the end we bought the honda and have been driving it for half a year. Some things the honda offers that i have come to appreciate: upto 29 mpg city and 36 mpg highway. The safety features that work, lane keeping assist Is impressive and a big thumbs up to the adoptive cruise control. Cvt transmission- smooth! Capless fuel fill, all cars should have this. Easy to locate center cup holders so there is no need to take eyes off the road when putting drink down. For us the clear winner was the honda. We purchased the mid level front wheel drive and are very pleased.
It depends on what you want. The Volkswagen is going to be more comfortable and refined than the Subaru. But the Subaru will be better on rough terian and take more abuse. The all wheel drive on Subarus has been tested against other brands alot an always seems to come out on top. They also use durable materials in the cabin so they tend to stand up to be treated roughly inside and out. But they are often criticized for feeling cheeper and not have the best tech. To sum up both these car are good it just depends on what you want in a car. For a more refined experience I would suggest the Volkswagen, for a more utilitarian vehicle go with the Subaru.
The 2015 Volkswagen Tiguan. The headlights are semi-automatic. When you shut off the engine, the main headlights turn off but not the marker lights. The headlight warning buzzer sounds for about 5 seconds then it stops. So while you’re collecting your bag, keys, and thoughts, the buzzer is buzzing but by the time you are exiting the car, it is not. You get the visual cue of the headlights disappearing but the markers are still on and the audible cue is gone. The markers kill the battery in about 6 hours … just enough to make sure that if you go to work, or go home for the night, the battery is dead when you get back. The door locks, the tailgate, the parking brake, and the transmission shifter are all electric so getting the jumper cables out of the back is like a decathlon. First you pry off the driver’s door lock cover, open it with a key, climb between the front seats to open the back door from the inside, fold down the rear seat, empty the trunk out from the folded down seat, then get a flashlight and open the hatch using the emergency pull cord on the inside. Then you can fetch the jumper cables and start the car. Unless it is parked head-in in a garage or stall. The parking brake is electric so if you have to push or tow the car with a dead battery you are totally screwed. There are identical 5-way buttons on both sides of the steering wheel. The tactile feedback from them is identical, and each is marked with meaningless tiny arrows and squares. There is no way to “learn” what they do … even after months of use I still just randomly press one of them and hope it does what I want … and if not, I try the other one. One of the buttons on the steering wheel activates Voice Command. This stop all music/radio/phone use begins an UNSTOPPABLE 30-second interaction with the voice command system. There is no way out of it. No “back” button, no “exit” voice command. You just have to shut up and let it time out, which takes 30 seconds. God I could go on. Design principles for all this stuff was ironed out in the 1960s and 70s. Volkswagen were once masters of design. How could they get so much so wrong?
From the question, it says that you are looking a SUV in the budget of 20–30 lakhs. Jeep Compass It comes in price range of Rs. 15.35–22.11 lakhs. Looking at the dimensions, Compass is better than the Tucson and Tiguan for city drives as it is shorter in length, width and height as well. The compass gets its exterior as well as interior designs from the Jeep’s Grand Cherokee. In interiors it gets leather touches like on the steering wheel and armrests. It has the lowest wheelbase among the three but still it has enough knee room for the rear row. It also has the lowest boot capacity of 438 L. It has a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It gets 6 airbags, TCS, ESP and ABS. But it misses the Brake Assist and Hill Descent which its rivals gets. There is another disappointment which is the sunroof. Even the top variant doesn’t offer any sunroof. It gets projector headlamps and LED tail lamps but misses the automatic headlamp feature which isn’t a much required feature. Coming to the engine, it comes with 1.4 L petrol engine which produces 158 bhp power and 2.0 L diesel engine which produces 170 bhp power. It comes with both 2WD and 4WD. When it comes to off-roading, it is ok types as it performs well in the segment. Its Mud mode makes it a bit easier to handle on muddy and slippery roads. But the 178 mm ground clearance makes a little disappointment. Hyundai Tucson It comes in the price range of Rs. 18.99–24.99 lakhs. The Hyundai Tucson with the hexagonal chrome grills and new LED lamps makes it look modern and more attractive. When seen from rear, one surely will misjudge it as a Creta. Also its new build quality is more smooth and the vibration are felt less as compared to its second generation model. In interior, it gets a 8-inch touchscreen on the dashboard which is easy to use with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. It also gets auto headlamps, keyless entry, cruise control, six airbags, ESP. It gets leather touch on dash top, armrest, steering wheel and gear knob. Being the widest in the segment, it has enough space for the rear row. It has a 513 L boot capacity which is more than the Jeep has. But it disappoints as this too doesn’t get any sunroof. Coming to the engine, it gets a 2.0L four cylinder turbocharged diesel engine which produces 183 bhp power. It also gets a 6-speed automatic transmission system. It is little disappointing as it feels little noisier inside. It also gets driving modes, like eco mode and sports mode. For off-roading it is almost good with a ground clearance of 195 mm. Volkswagen Tiguan It comes in a price range of Rs. 27–31.5 lakhs. The Volkswagen Tiguan was meant to compete the Jeep Compass and the Hyundai Tucson, but with its high price tag even competes with the Fortuner and the Endeavour as an alternative in the price range of Rs. 30–35 lakhs. Also it competes as a cheaper alternative to the premium Audi Q3, Mercedes-Benz GLA and the BMW X1. The new Tiguan is more longer than the Compass and the Tucson. It also gets the longest wheelbase among the three. It gets horizontal grills that stretches to the headlamps. But that doesn’t seem appealing. In the inside, the dash design is simple. Also the seating height is better than the other two which makes us feel comfortable while getting in and out. The rear seats are also more comfortable than the other two. The black cabin always feels gentle. It also gets a boot capacity of 615 L which is more than the Tucson and much more than the Compass. It gets a touchscreen infotainment system which has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, which also gets a feature of mobile mirroring. This car can impress anyone with its features like panoramic sunroof, cruise control and the most important three zone climate control AC, keyless entry, six airbags, front and rear parking sensors and ESP as well. Coming to engine, it is gets a 2.0L Diesel engine which can produce 141 bhp power. It gets a 7-speed automatic gear transmission system. Hence, it is more stable at higher speeds than the other two. But still it feels a lag than the other two as it produces the least power. It also comes with drive modes like snow mode and off-road mode. But it’s ground clearance of 150 mm isn’t impressive. Now coming to the fuel economy, all three are claimed to give 16 kmpl mileage. But when you come to the success in market, it is the Jeep Compass among the three. My personal views, go for Tiguan if you want a comfortable SUV with a premium feel. Go for the Tucson if you want a perfect family SUV. Go for the Compass if you want a SUV to experience fun while driving and a mixture of other two. Hope this helps. Thank You!
Well you have many options like Volvo XC 40, Audi Q3, Skoda Kodiaq, Skoda Karoq, Jeep Compass, Hundai Tuscon, BMW x1, Volkswagen Tiguan, Isuzu Mux, Ford Endeavour, Toyato fortuner, Tata Harrier, Mahindra Alturas G4,so you can choose any of above mentioned SUVs are having premium interiors, superb build quality, and Massive Panaromic Sunroof and good off road abilities and with great Road presence.
