Thanks for A2A ,Bunny Punia,. The 2020 Volkswagen vento BS6 comes with a 1.0 litre TSI turbocharged petrol engine that produces 110 brake horsepower and 175 NM of torque. This engine can be had with either a 6-speed manual transmission or 6 speed torque converter automatic transmission. The 7 speed dsg and the 1.5 litre TDI diesel engines have been discontinued.
Since you asked for Diesel Cars, i am making the following assumptions: You would be driving mostly on highways You are looking for a Sedan and not SUV If looking for automatic, you can go for Volkswagen Vento AT (DSG). It will be on road around 15–17L in Karnataka. But manual variant would be around 13–15L on road in Karnataka (20% road tax assumed). If looking for manual, you can go for Honda City Diesel or Volkswagen Vento (only that clutch becomes hard with time). You can also try Kia Seltos Diesel manual variant or XUV300 in diesel if you are looking for semi-SUV. I have not personally driven XUV300 but this is based on features and personal research. XUV300 diesel manual should come within budget. If on road it should come under 12L, try Ford Aspire Diesel or Tata Tigor (i think diesel variant has been discontinued in Tigor) In general, i would advise to buy BS6 diesel variants only because if you put BS6 diesel in a BS4 diesel engine, then i have read reports that your fuel injector would need frequent cleaning and even frequent replacement Also, post Apr-2020, when BS6 Norms come into effect, diesel variants price would go up significantly (by 1 lakh or so). Already the price difference between diesel and petrol fuel isn't a lot now. So unless your drive is more than 80–100kms a day, it won't be worth buying a diesel car. So beware of this.
Because of BS6 emissions norms. Those engines do not completely satisfy the BS6 norms as of now.
Though Volkswagen Vento is a decent car but not recommended at that mileage and price… Reasons… 75k kms in 4 yrs Costly parts and service BS4 vehicle You will get new BS6 decent vehicles hatchbacks though Resale value will be too low if you decide to sell in future
Volkswagen cars come with superior build quality. The frame itself is very rigid and made up of galvanised steel. Huge steel bars on the side provide good safety to the passengers. Also Vento is a complete sedan which provides good comfort. The higher variant gets Global Ncap 5 star rating. Volkswagen cars provide good driving experience and feels premium. Though Volkswagen cars tend to provide less features compared to Maruti Ciaz but again it’s a trade of between build quality and safety standards. Vento remains stable on highway and there is less cabin noise. Vento is way better than most of its competitors. It is the build quality and high standards that increase the price of Vento but personally I think it’s fine. These things come at cost and hence they are pricier than their competitors in the segment. Volkswagen Vento base variant starts at just 8.3 lakhs which is similar to Ciaz. Volkswagen has launched BS6 variant which is more refined. It now comes with plenty of features and is more safe than before. You can find all the details in this blog ,Volkswagen Vento BS6 - CarBHP
The brand is established worldwide and also provide competitive price cars in indian market but its not enough! If you take VW Polo it's the same car from the day it was launched to now with some basic updation and BS6 norms and the majority of features remain same The same happens with vento and ameo (expired model tho) Now the above cars are from budget segment , then comes the premium models such as T-roc , tiguan , tiguan all space , Jetta , Passat Well the best-selling models in VW is the Polo and vento and they haven't seen any major facelift since their initial launch which is a major drawback than its competitors !! The service network of VW isn't well in some places that I know , the cost of spares isn't on cheaper side tho , then it stays further back from the other competitors Other than above factors the be cars are a gem to drive and their high-speed stability is great and the cars are enthusiastic ones too A modified Polo Happy driving:)
Although Volkswagen hasn’t changed the Polo much since its launch a decade back, the new 1.0 TSI engine gets a fresh wave of boost. The new engine is also seen in the Vento and the Skoda Rapid and makes the Polo the quickest hatchback in India. The manual version is priced well and offers 109 bhp of power and 174 Nm of torque. These are class leading figures and help the Polo 1.0 TSI attain a top speed of over 190 km/h!
Hello there. Great question, this one. The Vento and Rapid are the same cars through and through. Same platforms, engines, transmissions. But what’s different? The packaging and pricing. These are the two things that would help decide which car suits your requirements better. Here’s what: 1. ,Pricing, The Vento and Rapid work with different prices, just like every other pair of similar cars in the market. The Rapid has a huge benefit in the lower variants while the Vento gets the benefits towards the higher variants (as of July 2020). Knowing VW, this could change anytime. 2. ,Apple CarPlay / Android Auto, A huge differences between the two cars is the Android Auto / Apple CarPlay touchscreen infotainment system. The Vento gets it, in a very clean, very no non-sense head unit. But the Rapid gets an android based system that looks very after-market. 3. ,After-sales, Between Volkswagen and Škoda, market confidence is better when it comes to Volkswagen’s dealership distribution and service touchpoints when compared to Škoda’s mostly single-dealer network in most cities. 4. ,Resale, With maintenance confidence better in Volkswagen, the resale-ability gets an advantage too. While depreciation, in general, is high for Volkswagen and Skoda, the Vento could go for a better price when compared to the Rapid. Having said that, if you’re looking to own ANY car for 7+ years, do not think too much about depreciation and potential resale value. 5. Colours and variants, The Rapid comes with a strange combination of variants and colours availability with those specific variants. For ex., the MonteCarlo variant comes only in Red, White. The Onyx variant comes only in Blue, White. The Vento has a more standardized approach to the colours and variants. Hope this helps. Information from:
Skoda Rapid review:Vento's sister against Honda City, Hyundaiverna, etc. Overview: The variant which I saw during the Skoda event at my society was the Top model Style which got the 1.2 litre Petrol heart that was available with a 5 speed manual transmission. This one also gets an option of a diesel heart but unfortunately the diesel engine would be discontinued from the Skoda Rapid after April 2020 due to the upcoming BS6 emission norms that would be coming to the existence and the 1.5 litre turbocharged diesel engine would also be removed from the Volkswagen vento which is the sibling of the Skoda Rapid but Still this car won my good ratings .
