@volvocars steer clear of Volvo hybrid and electric vehicles if you have got any sense, I’ve had an ERAD transmission & ERAD electric motor fail, yes the motor that actually drives the electric car and Volvo think it’s okay for me to pay thousands to fix!!

Having the same problem here, a Volvo that had full Volvo service history and I've even subscribed to their expensive Endeavour Servicing scheme. But no Volvo UK will only pay 20% of their common ERAD repair cost. This is a common fault that should be recalled, avoid Volvo!! :-(
the Avalon / Lexus have the torque converter to smooth shifts out a bit ... but the Volvo has both the torque converter AND the ERAD and together they fill in the torque gaps during shifts so it doesn't feel as jarring as in BMW 330e ...

granted Volvo employs multiple technologies to make this work but the Siemens ERAD does help ...
@VolvoCarUK please can you give figures (as a freedom of information request) of how many ERAD transmissions in Volvo T8 hybrids have been replaced or repaired particularly in the early 2015/16 models? Not a happy Volvo owner which @VolvoCarUK is not willing to assist….
@memstaxi Hopefully it will be updated this also is the same erad used in volvo xc90 so I'm sure it will be improved.
