I have, but it was from/through someone I trust. A few months ago, my wife and I started looking for a higher profile car, thinking of a late model Forester, RAV-4 or CR-V. My boss paid for Mrs. Gray to go to school to get her CDL and become my codriver. Before then, she'd probably driven nothing bigger than her first car, a seventy-something GM. After several months of driving a semi, she was thinking the Civic was awfully low; it felt like she had to climb UP to get out. So she tells her son, a used car dealer in Maryland, what we're thinking. Jameel says “Mom, for the same money, you can get a 6 or 7 year old Lexus RX350, which will ride much smoother and be a much nicer car.” So after a month or so of looking, he finds a 2010 RX for 11K (we were thinking of spending 15). We got it, spent 700 to have it shipped to Kansas. It IS a nice car. In excellent shape, and much nicer than a 15 Forester.

Sears back in the eatly 90’s was caught and sued for hundteds of millions due to a nice and honest employee at their Auto Service Department gave in due to his wanting to be a part of an honest company, he reported the Vehicle Service unit was Claiming to have replaced or fixed some things and ebded up charging the owner close to $2700 more than what the owner was quoted. I am sure most other places due toe same thing. i just had my Catalitic Converter on My Lexus RX 330 replaced, a place had quoted me $1500 to replace my Catalitic Concerter and another place replaced my CC with a New Lexuz Vrand Vehicle for only $831 out thevdoor and my RX 330 again feels like a brand new Lexus. I just used this ad example found close to $700 difference which the people at the one charging $1500 were probably going to enjoy the extra $700 they tried to charge for gettibg drunk on liquors and beer. That is why I recommend the FIX brand scanner which for less than $20 i bought it and it is known to scan the exact same code the scanner loaned at Auro Zone will lend you to scan your vehicle and they will print a copy of your vrhicled outcome which had matched what my FIX predicted.

Why doesn’t Toyota produce hybrid vans or pickup trucks?
Toyota have the technology because they have a Class 1 SUV like the Lexus RX 450hL Luxury. So, I am pretty sure that the main reason are marketing: Does Macho pickup truck owner want an Hybrid car to save gas? How many company are ready to pay extra money for an hybrid pickup up truck? Does the Hybrid System take up space and/or Weight so much that it affect the total capacity of the truck. For example, if the truck weight 500 lbs more then the standard pick-up truck… does it means that it total useful payload is reduce from 1200 lbs to 700 lbs? This is probably a cases were a brand new vehicle will need to be develop to balance all the factors: Power, Payload Capacity, towing Capacity, etc… Many pick-up owner like their big diesel gear. Many others that don’t have it dream about it. Can an hybrid system might be built to be a better power plan: More power, More Torque, More payload, More towing Capacity and still save some diesel/gas? Larger Pick-up truck are a North American phenomenon. Therefore, grabbing the market out of the hand of Ford and GM will be difficult. Most government agency will stay with North American products. GM did introduce a mild-hybrid a while back: It was a flop because the truck was a less capable pick-up: Low Towing, Low payload capacity
