Reason why Toyota Innova uses Double Wishbone at front: Innova uses a traditional and robust body-on-frame type construction. The body is mounted on a strong ladder frame chassis. Most of the structural rigidity for this type of construction comes from the ladder frame and not from the body. Therefore the forces from the suspension system has to be transferred to the frame and not to the body. So the mounting points of the control arms/wishbones as well as the shock-absorber assembly has to be on the frame and not on the body. Double wishbone is the most preferable suspension geometry for these type of cars as the vertical space available for overall length of spring is extremely limited. So this enables the shock-absorber to be mounted on the lower wishbone therefore utilising the limited space effectively and also enabling good control over un-sprung mass. Also Innova is rear wheel drive and so the shock absorber will not interfere with the driveshafts as there isn’t any driveshaft in the first place. Reason why Toyota Vellfire uses McPherson Struts at front: Although Vellfire is 4WD/AWD it is mostly FWD ( the engine is transversely mounted). This means that there will be front driveshafts which pass through the wheel centre(inboard side) . Eventhough the Vellfire is also body-on-frame, the FWD layout forces it to use McPherson struts instead of double wishbone as the shock absorber cannot be mounted on the lower arm. In this case the upper portion of the strut has to mounted to a reinforced body or a separate reinforced sub-frame/crossmember. (I am not sure which one Toyota uses). Usually body mounted struts have strut bars which connect the upper mount of two struts to improve rigidity. Note: The rear suspension of Vellfire uses Double wishbone as the rear axle is also live(part time AWD) in this case. For more discussions as such follow ‘Sicks & Gasoline” space in Quora.

Off-road vehicles are booming in popularity, and Toyota is a heavy hitter in the market. The automaker has been producing cars for over 80 years and built a reputation on their SUVs being durable and reliable. A Land Cruiser or 4Runner can be a significant investment for many families, so it’s important to know ,how these vehicles will perform, in off-road conditions. A comparison between ,4Runner vs Land Cruiser, will help you make a decision quite easily. Between ,Toyota Land Cruiser vs 4Runner,, which one is better for off-road performance? These two are two of the most popular SUV-type vehicles out there but there are still some unique differences. Looking at design and pricing, we can see that each vehicle has its own unique attributes that make them a good fit for different purposes. 4Runner vs Land Cruiser: A Brief Side-by-Side Comparison Comparing ,Land Cruiser vs 4Runner,, you will see that both are high-quality vehicles designed for slightly different purposes. So, let’s take a look at what makes these two cars stand out. Looks and Interior Features The Toyota 4Runner offers compactness and practicality with its smaller size. It also provides an easy off-road exploring capability for those who like to explore nature. It has moderate comfort features with SofTex-trimmed seats, Bluetooth feature, 8-inch touchscreen, and a few other features. Higher trims have some better features, including an auto-dimming rearview mirror, floor mats that are all-weather compatible, and a few other things. The Land Cruiser is more luxurious. But if you want a larger SUV with more luxurious features, the ,Land Cruiser, should be your first choice. It’s bigger, has more features, and can seat up to eight passengers compared to the smaller 4Runner that seats five people. The big and deluxe Toyota Land Cruiser has seats, a steering wheel, and a shift knob made of high-quality leather. There is also a center console and four-zone climate control. If you want to ensure the highest comfort while on your off-road adventure, the Land Cruiser is the right choice. Engine Performance Between ,4Runner vs Land Cruiser,, the second is the bigger vehicle, so it’s obvious that it will have a larger and more powerful engine unit. The latest model has a V8 engine that can generate up to 381 hp. On the other hand, the latest ,4Runner, can crank up 270 hp with a 4-liter V6 engine. Despite being bigger and heavier, a Land Cruiser can speed up from 0 to 60 in 6.7 seconds. A 4Runner takes 7.5 seconds to accelerate at that rate. However, as the Land Cruiser is almost 1,000 pounds heavier, it just guzzles down fuel. Its mileage is only 17 mpg while a 4Runner can cover up to 19 mpg. Drive Train A Land Cruiser version comes with a standard 4WD but there is no 4Runner trim that has this drivetrain. The system in a 4Runner is only part-time. When driving on an unpaved surface, the driver of the 4Runner needs to switch gears, so that power can be distributed to all four wheels. The Land Cruiser can distribute its power to all four wheels without any intervention by the driver. SEE MORE What Are the Important Functions of Ford Trail Control? Off-Road Technology Comparing the ,Land Cruiser vs 4Runner off road, technology, the first one is the clear winner in this category. Both vehicles have Multi-Terrain Control (MTC), which means they can easily navigate off-road surfaces along with the capacity to dominate hilly areas. But Land Cruiser models have an underbody camera to spot obstacles in the road ahead. It makes traveling over rough terrain smoother and safer. Also, the Land Cruiser has a self-leveling KDSS adjustable suspension that allows for on-the-fly control of ride height. On the other hand, only the TRD and TRD Premium trims of 4Runner have this suspension. Verdict: Which One Should You Buy? Comparing ,4Runner vs Land Cruiser,, it’s clear that both are off-road vehicles designed to take the driver through most terrain types. The Land Cruiser has a more luxurious feel and many high-end features come to it as a part of the standard pack. You have to choose a premium trim of 4Runner to get all these features and options. That being said, the price plays a significant role in making the decision between these two vehicles. Even a well-equipped 4Runner high-end trim like the TRD Off-Road Premium costs almost half of a Land Cruiser’s price. Also, a 4Runner is the better choice if you want an off-road vehicle that is suitable for both city driving and rough terrain. Its smaller size is perfect for maneuvering in narrow roads and parking on tight corners. If you don’t mind the price, the Land Cruiser is a better option for a bigger family that wants to do their off-road adventure without sacrificing comfort. It has bigger cargo space, a better engine, and offers a smoother driving experience
Yes. A great family car. The configuration of seating is way beyond imagination. I wonder why a manufacturer like Toyota had thought out such a MPV. Although Toyota has an offering in the form of vellfire. But the price is way beyond luxury. Kia has a winning product in Carnival. The 7 seaters can be made into a 4 seater and huge luggage space opens up. 8 seater can be made into a 5 seater in the same way. 9 seater can be made into a 6 seater the same way. Pricing is going to play an important role. People who want to buy an Innova but can compromise on front wheel drive.
Only ten? Come on, I wish I could able to own more. Since it just imaginary, here are the cars that “if I could only own ten” possibilities, and probably either one of these. Daily Driver: 2010 Toyota Prius I am a car guy and I don’t mind to drive a Prius. Because I could own ten cars, that should be mean that I am crazy rich, and I don’t want to look rich for daily life. I want to blend in. Great fuel economy, comfortable, I could bring three or four other people, and this car could last for years. (FYI: In Jakarta, a Prius is considered as luxury car due to government regulation.) Other options: 2018 Toyota Camry Hybrid, 2018 Mazda CX5, 2015 Subaru Forester, 2016 Toyota Fortuner, 2017 Honda Civic, Tesla Model S Weekend Warrior (Part 1): Ferrari 458 Speciale Just like a 458, but on steroids. I like my supercar looks and drive fast, and also beautiful. I also like the sound of the naturally aspirated V8 from it. Other options: Ferrari 488 Pista, 2017 Porsche 911 GT3RS, Lamborghini Aventador SV, McLaren 720S, 2015 Aston Martin Vanquish S Weekend Warrior (Part 2): Any BMW M Series. Another weekend warrior that I’d like to own is the sports car that I can use to go to the track, have fun, and go home. I also like that it still practical, so I can use it for groceries, strolling around downtown, or just driving alone in my beloved tiny metal shell. Other Options: Nissan GT-R Nismo, Any Mercedes-Benz AMG Series, 2020 Audi RS6 Maybe a Future Classic: Nissan Skyline GT-R (R34) V-Spec II The 2.6 liter inline six RB26DETT for me is one of the best sounding Japanese engine ever (after the amazing Lexus LF-A’s V10). This car is also looks timeless, still gorgeous even compared to more modern sports car. Thanks to Fast and Furious franchise and Gran Turismo games, I always wanted one of these. In fact, two of these. If I able to own two, I’ll keep one stock just like fresh out from factory and modify one to become a supercar killer. It’s a motoring gem. Other options: 2001 Toyota Supra RZ (Mk.IV), 2002 Honda NSX-R Can Go Anywhere: Toyota Land Cruiser This car is big, and mean (in Indonesia). Especially in black. No one dare enough to hit because they don’t dare to mess with the owner of the Land Cruiser. In Indonesia, this car is owned either by (very) high rank government officials (including the army, the navy, the air force, and police), foreign embassy officials, and VIP’s. If I’m bored with it’s looks, I just go and simply purchase a facelift kit to make it looks like a Lexus LX570. Other options: 2018 Range Rover Autobiography, 2017 Mercedes G-Wagen Childhood Poster Car: Ferrari F40 This is not a car. This is a piece of fine arts. Made in a very limited number. One of the best car Ferrari ever made. Other options: 1980-1993 Porsche 911 Carrera, Lamborghini Countach, Ford GT40. A Gift for My Other Half: 2018 Lexus RX300 I’m a loyal person, including to my (future) partner. If I had committed to her, than I don’t mind spending a lot of money to make her happy. Because I worked hard so I could own ten cars, so why not let her use one so she doesn’t have to take a bus or train or taxi anywhere. Other options: Mini Clubman, Toyota Previa, 2012–2018 Mercedes-Benz A Class I’ll Buy This One for My Parents: Toyota Alphard 2.4G It is a rich Indonesian (or Asian) starter pack. This car is a must have for rich Indonesian. Usually, this car is owned by CEO’s, celebrities, or just rich people and driven around chauffeured. It is very spacious, you could have a business meeting inside. There is also the Wellcab version which has middle seat that could come out to help the elderly or disabled. It has a twin brother called the Toyota Vellfire. Other options: 2018 Toyota Voxy, 2017 Nissan Elgrand, 2017 Mercedes GLC Class, any Mercedes-Benz/BMW/Audi estate. Project Car: Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX This baby can go fast. On tarmac and on gravel. I can build this car to become a fast rally car, a killer time attack car, or just a great show car. Tune up the engine, lower and stiffen the suspension a little bit, put on Gram Lights RGII wheels wrapped in Toyo, and add on Voltex kit. Damn, she looks beautiful. Other options: 2001 Nissan Silvia Spec R, 2007 Honda Civic Type R (FD2R, asia version), 2017 Honda Civic Type R (FK8R), 2013–2018 Subaru Impreza WRX STi, 2012–2017 Toyota GT86/Subaru BRZ. 2000 Nissan Stagea Autech. Business Only: 2017 Mercedes-Benz S Class The Best or Nothing. That is what I want to show up to my clients that “You have made the right decision choosing me to help you find your solutions. I’m so good at my business, I could afford a Benz and another nine cars”. I always like S Class Mercedes. Every time they launch the latest version, it always getting better and better. This car is so good, even the base model. Since I am not using it on weekends, I just could put hire out this car for weddings to earn extra income. Other Options: 2017 Lexus LS500, 2016 BMW 740Li, 2013 Lexus GS350, 2014 Rolls Royce Ghost.
“Douchebags” is over-simplifying it a bit. Nice cars are seen as a sign of ostentatious consumption, whatever brand or type. Vellfires and Alphards fit into that category for sure. This means that drivers of these cars ( or really any other high-end car) are seen as being rich and wanting to show it to the world a bit. They are probably judged a bit for this, but luxury vans are typically not the flashiest vehicles around. It’s not a bright red Ferrari, for example. they are still (usually) pretty restrained and quiet, and can easily be mistaken for an airport limo service vehicle. The worst appellations that one might apply to a person like that is ,yakuza ,(gangster) or possibly ,chinpira ,(basically a snot-nosed punk-ass kid or a very low level thug) if they have lowered the van with big wheels and flashy accessories. No, these vehicles do not typically breach the most important unwritten rule of Japanese society - don’t be noisy. They are nice inside, drive super well, and look great, but they do not go fast, make tire smoke, or make people flinch with their exhaust notes. That means they are fine.
MG g10 dimensions(global spec) 5168*1980*1928 with a wheel base of 3198mm Kia carnival dimensions(india spec) 5115*1985*1740 with a wheelbase of 3060mm So basically the global spec beraion of MG G10 is bigger than kia carnival. But you should also see that the MG G10 stance is more of hyundai starex which is upright. It is only to be seen that if MG g10is launched, willit be a global spec one or will it be modified a bit too Indian conditions. Also, has the extra 53mm of length been optimally used...
Most Fuel-Efficient Entry-Level Hatchback In India 2021 1)Hyundai Grand i10 Nios - 25.49 kmpl (CRDi, MT) 2)Ford Figo - 24.4 kmpl (D) 3)Maruti Swift - 23.76 kmpl (AMT) 4)Maruti Alto - 22.05 kmpl 5)Renault Kwid - 22 kmpl (1L, AMT) 6)Datsun Redigo - 22 kmpl (1L, AMT) 7)Maruti Celerio - 21.63 kmpl (1L, AMT,MT) 8)Maruti S-Presso - 21.7 kmpl (AMT) 9)Maruti Ignis - 20.89 kmpl 10)Maruti Wagon-R - 21.79 kmpl (1L, AMT/MT) 11)Hyundai Santro - 20 kmpl 12)Tata Tiago - 19.8 kmpl (MT) 13Datsun Go - 19.02 kmpl (MT) Affordability and low running costs are key considerations for most first-time car buyers that pick these cars. This means that the fuel efficiency number is more important here than anywhere else, especially now with Tier-II and Tier-III cities making up a bulk of sales. Brands like Hyundai and Ford, who have kept faith with diesel in the BSVI era have some astonishingly efficient cars here, helped along with efficiency-focused smaller capacity engines and smaller, lighter footprints. However, the long-term benefits of these numbers are reduced by the high initial cost of BSVI diesel cars. Most Fuel-Efficient Premium Hatchback In India 2021 1)Hyundai i20 - 25.2 kmpl (D, MT) 2)Tata Altroz - 25.11 kmpl (D, MT) 3)Maruti Baleno - 23.87 kmpl (Dualjet, MT) 4)VW Polo - 18.24 kmpl (1.0LT,MT) 5)Honda Jazz - 17.1 kmpl (CVT) A segment that had become stagnant in the past few years seems to have been revived quite emphatically, with two strong new entrants in the third-gen i20 and the Tata Altroz, and all the others receiving mechanical updates or refreshes. The more evolved buyer here may not put fuel efficiency at the top of their considerations, but will still like a feature-packed car that isn't too harsh on the pocket while being contemporary to look at and drive. Most Fuel-Efficient Sub-Four-Metre Sedan In India 2021 1)Hyundai Aura - 25.4 kmpl (D, AMT) 2)Honda Amaze - 24.7 kmpl (D, MT) 3)Ford Aspire - 24.4 kmpl (D) 4)Maruti Dzire - 24.12 kmpl AMT 5)Tata Tigot - 19.92 kmpl MT Once a promising Bodystyle on which many bets were hedged, these cars seem to have lost significant ground to our recent attraction towards SUVs. That said, for a significant set of buyers these cars still seem like easy access to the cachet a three-box shape brings in this country. This also seems to remain a segment where diesel is alive and well, with the added efficiency and the seemingly more evolved driving experience these engines bring being a draw for customers here. Most Fuel-Efficient Sedan In India 2021 1)Hyundai Verna - 25 kmpl (D, MT) 2)Honda City - 24.1 kmpl(D, MT) 3)Maruti Ciaz - 20.65 kmpl (MT) 4)Skoda Rapid - 18.97 kmpl (MT) 5)Toyoto Yaris - 18.1 kmpl (CVT) 6)VW Vento - 17.69 kmpl (MT) Once at the core of the Indian auto industry, the C-sedan is now seen as one of the more driving-focused buyers chooses. Although, a comfortable backseat, a luxurious cabin, and a features list matching those on similarly priced SUVs remain strong traits. Fuel efficiency is seen more like a useful bonus, with more focus on the driving experience a drivetrain brings. As for the fuel efficiency numbers, the added weight and more focus on driveability rather than outright efficiency bring down numbers to an extent. Most Fuel-Efficient Sub-Four-Metre SUV In India 2021 1)Kia Sonet - 24.1 kmpl (1.5L D, MT) 2)Ford Freestyle - 23.8 kmpl (D) 3)Honda WR-V - 23.7 kmpl (D) 4)Hyundai Venue - 23.28 kmpl (D, MT, E) 5)Tata Nexon - 22.44 kmpl (D, MT,AMT) 6)Ford Ecosport - 21.7 kmpl (D) 7)Renault Kiger - 20 kmpl (1.0T, MT) 8)Nissan Magnite - 20 kmpl (1.0T, MT) 9)Mahindra XUV300 - 20.1 kmpl (D, MT) 10)Maruti Vitara Brezza - 18.76 kmpl (AT) 11)Mahindra KUV100 - 17.8 kmpl (MT) The cars everyone wants to be seen in now, and carmakers are scrambling over each other to meet this demand. These SUVs are inherently thirstier, compromised with the heavier weights and lower aerodynamic efficiency (higher ride height and more frontal area) but that has never seemed to be much of an issue for buyers. This sense may not necessarily come from how efficient these SUVs are but from other factors like the sense of quality in the cabin, the features on offer, and the overall experience from behind the wheel at the price you pay for it. Most Fuel-Efficient SUV In India 2021 1)Hyundai Creta - 21.35 kmpl (diesel MT E) 2)Kia Seltos - 20.99 kmpl (diesel MT THE) 3)Maruti S-Cross - 18.55 kmpl (MT) 4)MG Hector Plus - 16.56 kmpl (D, MT) 5)Tata Harrier - 16.34 kmpl(MT) 6)Renault Duster - 16.5 kmpl(1.3LT, MT) 7)Nissan Kicks - 15.8 kmpl (1.3L, MT) 8)tata Safari - 16.14 kmpl (MT) 9)MG Hector - 16.17 kmpl (D, MT) 10)Mahindra Thar - 15.2 kmpl (D, MT) 11)Mahindra Scorpio - 14.44 kmpl (4x2, D, MT) 12)Mahindra XUV500 - 15.05 kmpl (4x2, D, MT) Many of the same factors that seem to appeal to sub-four-meter SUV buyers apply here, although customers in this very popular segment are probably the most aware of any mainstream segment in the country. Fuel efficiency isn't exactly top priority like in the more affordable segments but with owners up for quite a bit of highway driving, fuel efficiency seems like more of a factor here than in some other SUV segments. Most Fuel-Efficient MPV In India 2021 1)Datsun Go+ - 19.02 kmpl (MT) 2)Maruti Ertiga - 19.01 kmpl (MT) 2)Maruti XL6 - 19.01 kmpl(MT) 3)Renault Triber - 19 kmpl (1.0, MT) 4)Mahindra Marazzo - 17.31 kmpl(D, MT) 5)Mahindra TUV300 - 17.29 kmpl (D, MT) 6)Maruti Eeco - 16.11 kmpl 7)Toyota Innova - 15.6 kmpl (D, MT) 8)Kia Carnival - 13.89 kmpl 9)Toyota Vellfire - 16.4 kmpl 10)Mahindra Bolero - 16.7 kmpl (D, MT) Not very long ago, except for the Innova and some utility-focused offerings popular rurally, the MPV body style seemed all but forgotten. But with its recent revival, there is now an MPV to fit any budget. It's not difficult to see the appeal. They are no less efficient than a similarly priced SUV, the boxy shape and the extra row of seats don't help matters, but are a far more practical arrangement. Most Fuel-Efficient Premium SUV In India 2021 1)Citroen C5 Aircross - 18.6 kmpl (D, AT) 2)Jeep Compass - 17.3 kmpl (D, MT) 3)Hyundai Tucson - 16.98 kmpl (D, 4x2) 4)Toyota Fortuner(pre-facelift) - 15.04 kmpl (4x2, AT) 5)MG Gloster - 14.5 kmpl (Single Turbo) 6)VW Tiguan Allspace - 12.5 kmpl 7)Ford Endeavour - 13.9 kmpl 8)Mahindra Alturas G4 - 12.35 kmpl (4x2, AT) These are the SUVs of choice for buyers who either can't or don't want to stretch for the full luxury experience, but are looking for a package that substitutes that experience well enough. Not to mention the fact that these are quite large and heavy SUVs, to begin with. Most Fuel-Efficient Premium Sedan In India 2021 1)Toyota Camry Hybrid - 22.8 kmpl 2)Hyundai Elantra - 22.7 kmpl (D, MT) 3)Skoda Superb - 15.10 kmpl Once an aspirational set of cars, this segment seems to have been all but wiped out with the SUV craze. But there is still life left, with some major launches planned here over the next year. The combination of electric and petrol power seems to strike the perfect balance. There's much less fuel money to be spent in real-world driving and no reason for the range anxiety from an EV.
