volvo rims xc90 Q&A Review

What are some sneaky things that car dealers don't tell you when you're buying a car?

They won't ever tell you anything bad about the car Nissan makes a crappy CVT that is unlikely to last 120,000 miles or less, and scarce enough that non-warranty replacements are $3-4k refurbs). A lot of new cars are designed to make DIY maintenance or repair impossible They won't tell you about unexpected maintenance An AWD vehicle needs to have 4 matching tires of the same tread depth, which means that you must rotate religiously and always and only buy four tires at a time (unless you're driving a Volvo XC90 from 2015 or later). The Dodge Journey, Chrysler Sebring, 300, and Crossfire, among others, require you to jack up the vehicle and remove the front wheel to change the battery. Fancy rims need fancy tires, and both are expensive as all heck. Batteries won't last very long because of the load from all of the recently added always-on electronics. The chrome cap on chromed lug nuts eventually cracks, allowing moisture in and causing the steel underneath to rust; this loosens the chrome cap and eventually produces rounded lug nuts, which will need a lot of work to remove. Locking lug nuts can be removed with the right tool, but if you get a flat and don't have your key, you're SOL. About 1/3 of new cars aren't sold with spare tires. Just a can of Fix-A-Flat, or run - flat tires (good for about 50 miles, expensive to replace).

How did you choose the last car you bought?

I defined my budget, needs, & wants. Needs: Capacity. Wagon or SUV. Fuel Economy. 20mpg or higher. AWD. Comfortable driving position/dashboard. Tires with large sidewalls to handle city driving without lots of bent rims. Wants: Speed. Inline 6 engine. Leather interior. I started searching and I came across several contenders. The first being 2011–2015 Volvo XC60 & V70 T6. The next being a 2008–2010 BMW 535 Touring. The last being a 1999–2010 BMW X5 3.0. I found a used car dealer with several similar cars available. 2011 Volvo S60 T6, 2010 BMW 535, a 2008 BMW X5 3.0, & a XC90 T6. I test drove all of them back to back with my wife & we took copious notes. I could settle for the Volvo, but the BMW felt much much better as the driver even if I didn’t care for the X-Drive shifter. I started searching online and researching common issues with each one. I secured financing with my bank & added an aftermarket warranty (after thorough research). I determined what color exterior & interior I wanted. I started searching… and quickly realized that there was nothing available within 500 miles of my house. So I expanded my internet search and finally came across a 2008 BMW 535 Touring near my father’s house. So I called them up, negotiated the price down, put down a deposit, hired a top rated BMW mechanic in that area to perform a prepurchase inspection, bought a plane ticket, and asked my wife to drop me off at the airport and then asked my father to pick me up at the airport and drop me off at the dealership. There were some small issues that had to be fixed, but even after that was complete along with the aftermarket warranty, I was still solidly below blue book value as it was exhibiting signs of wastegate flutter (common problem as I had researched). Very happy with it every day. The warranty through Route 66 has covered several failures so far and I still have over a year left of low cost high performance.

What are the best automotive wheel brands size 18 with lifetime warranties, quality built, improves performance, and has beautiful designs for under $400 each?

Here are some of the best rim brands for 2020: ENKEI ,WHEELS,. Enkei as a ,brand, is ,best, known for their lightweight rims and often find themselves near the top of almost any aftermarket ,rim brand best,-of list. ... BBS ,WHEELS,. ... VOSSEN ,WHEELS,. ... SSR ,WHEELS,. ... OZ RACING ,WHEELS,. ... KONIG ,WHEELS,. ... FORGIATO ,WHEELS,. ... TSW ,WHEELS,. Cooper tires are great, Michelin are some of the most expensive, Yokohama tires are VERY EXPENSIVE. It depends on the car, I drive a Volvo XC90 and I drive long distances high speed in all weather we recently had a snow storm in Texas I drove across Texas all night dodging many accidents on cooper On sale set of four

What are the reviews of the Porsche Cayenne Coupe?

2021 Porsche Cayenne STARTING AT $68,850 9.5/10 PORSCHE HIGHS Sensational powertrains, sports-car DNA, can tow 7700 pounds. LOWS Ride can be stiff, limited cubby storage, custom options can add up. VERDICT The Cayenne is the driving enthusiast's first choice for a luxury SUV. VIEW SPECS VIEW PHOTOS Overview The 2021 Porsche Cayenne is an SUV by design but a sports car by nature. This largest of ,Porsche,s provides a diverse range of powertrains that include a pair of proficient V-6s, a modern plug-in hybrid, and a thundering twin-turbo V-8. Of course, power is pointless if it isn't properly harnessed, and the Cayenne's innate athleticism and sublime handling traits ensure it lives up to the German brand's illustrious history. Its spacious interior is basically a canvas for customization thanks to Porsche's extensive roster of available options. While these features can quickly inflate its price, and we think some should be standard, at least they're discretional. Besides, the 2021 Cayenne—and its ,coupe counterpart, (reviewed separately)—are mid-size luxury crossovers that fully engage driving enthusiasts. That makes them our favorite choice. Porsche spices up the 2021 Cayenne lineup with the ,return of the GTS model,, which has a 460-hp twin-turbo V-8. Along with more desirable standard features, it'll also benefit from a lowered suspension and other performance hardware. The 2021 GTS is the top-of-the-line version of the regular Cayenne, but it's just as much a gateway to the ,high-powered Turbo variants, (reviewed separately). The Cayenne E-Hybrid also introduces a larger battery that now boasts a capacity of 17.9 kWh versus 14.1. Porsche also says it changed the battery's state of charge to make more efficient use of the gas engine, which helps increase the life of the pack. However, we're very fond of the normal Cayenne, which is about $40,000 cheaper and still impressively quick. It already comes with a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10-speaker stereo, and a Wi-Fi hotspot—among other popular equipment—and our preferred configuration would expand upon that with thoughtful options. We'd add the Premium package that includes 14-way power front seats, adaptive LED headlights, blind-spot monitoring, a more powerful Bose surround-sound system, hands-free passive entry, heated front seats, and a panoramic sunroof. We'd also optimize its on-road performance and off-road capabilities with the Sport Chrono package (expanded drive modes and launch control, the Off-Road package (extra underbody protection and additional displays), and the adaptive air suspension. Individual options that would improve its style and increase its luxury include a set of 20-inch wheels, four-zone climate control, a heated steering wheel, a head-up display, massaging front seats, and soft-close doors. ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOW Engine, Transmission, and Performance If you want more performance than the base Cayenne delivers, the ,Cayenne S, offers an even zestier setup courtesy of its 434-hp twin-turbo 2.9-liter V-6. It bolts to 60 mph in just 4.2 seconds. We haven't tested the plug-in hybrid model (,called the E-Hybrid,), but its electric motor and turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6 make a combined 455 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque. Its 17.9-kWh battery pack can be charged via a standard 3.6-kW onboard charger or an optional 7.2-kW unit. The new GTS model boasts a 460-hp twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8 that promises the best-sounding exhaust note and breathtaking acceleration. The available Sport Chrono package brings selectable drive modes and improves acceleration. All powerplants pair with an astute eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. Porsche attempts to imbue every product with a particular set of skills—specifically those that cater to driving enjoyment. While making anything that weighs more than two tons move gracefully is challenging, the engineers in Stuttgart were successful with the Cayenne. The ,S model that we tested, moved quietly and steadily at highway speeds before seamlessly transitioning to twisty sections, where it showcased surprising athleticism for its size. Most models wear standard 19-inch wheels, but they can be optioned up to 22 inches. The GTS rides on standard 21-inch rims and a lower suspension than the regular models. However, the versions we've tested with the largest rollers had reduced ride quality on uneven roads. Most models have performance options that include adaptive dampers with or without an adjustable air suspension, four-wheel steering for improved maneuverability, and active anti-roll bars for flatter cornering. The Cayenne's brakes can be upgraded to ,Porsche's tungsten-coated iron rotors, (called Porsche Surface Coated Brakes, or PSCB) or costly carbon-ceramic stoppers. The base model we tested had neither setup nor still needed only 159 feet to stop from 70 mph. The base Cayenne's EPA combined fuel economy is slightly behind rivals such as the ,BMW X5, and the ,Volvo XC90, when they are equipped with similar powertrains. The Cayenne S coupe we evaluated on our 75-mph highway fuel-economy route, which is part of ,our extensive testing regimen,, earned 25 mpg—matching the E-Hybrid we tested. Despite its unimpressive highway number, the latter is the most eco-friendly option for folks who live in urban areas. ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOW Interior, Comfort, and Cargo Porsche essentially provides a blank canvas inside the Cayenne for customers to outfit as they see fit. Everything from the interior trim to the seatbelt colors to the surface materials can be individually selected. The driver faces a snazzy gauge cluster with an analog tachometer flanked by two 7.0-inch screens that display selectable information. In addition to traditional options such as heated and ventilated front and rear seats, the Cayenne offers desirable upgrades, including more supportive seats, massaging front seats, four-zone climate control, and more. Whereas the rival ,Audi Q7, and the ,Volvo XC90, have three rows, the Porsche has only two. Still, its back seat is adjustable and provides plenty of stretch-out space. The Cayenne entices Porsche enthusiasts with ample passenger capacity and cargo volume, which are obviously far greater than any 911's. It's the largest Porsche SUV and provides 27 cubic feet of cargo room behind the rear seats and up to 60 cubes with the seats folded flat. Interior cubby storage is unremarkable, with most small items seeking refuge in the door pockets or the shallow center-console bin. Every Cayenne includes a power-operated liftgate; the optional passive-entry system (called Comfort Access) allows it to be opened or closed with a foot gesture. ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOW Infotainment and Connectivity The infotainment system uses a standard 12.3-inch touchscreen mounted in the middle of the dashboard. Its slick interface includes a configurable home menu and many personalized settings. While the system was responsive and easy to operate during our testing, the screen attracted smudges. A rotary controller would help reduce distractions during driving. Every Cayenne has Porsche Connect Plus, which includes a Wi-Fi hotspot and Apple CarPlay capability (Android Auto is noticeably absent). A set of upgraded audio systems includes a 14-speaker Bose unit or a much pricier Burmester setup that pumps 1455 watts through 21 speakers. An available rear-seat entertainment system attaches two 10.0-inch displays to the back of the front-seat headrests. Safety and Driver-Assistance Features The 2021 Cayenne hasn't been crash tested by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (,NHTSA,) or the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (,IIHS,). However, the Cayenne is available with a bevy of ,driver-assistance technology, to help keep occupants safe. Every model has forward-collision warning and parking sensors at both ends. It even supports night vision with an optional infrared camera. Key safety features include: ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOW Available adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go technology Available blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert Available lane-departure warning and lane-keeping assist Warranty and Maintenance Coverage Porsche provides a competitive limited and powertrain warranty. Which SUV is better, the 2021 Land Rover Range Rover or the 2021 Volvo XC90? I don't need the 2 extra seats of the Volvo.

First of all, you are asking about the 2021 models, neither of which are out yet. The Range Rover is scheduled for an update in 2021, and the Range Rover Sport will be updated in 2022. Second; better for what? I have owned Range Rovers and Volvos (although never a Volvo SUV, I have been in them often as a friend has a new XC90 and loves it). I respect both makes and will buy another of either when the time is right. If you never go off road, the Volvo is great - safe, comfortable, handles well, has enough power and economy. Everyone who has one loves them. The Range Rover, however, is a step above in many ways - more luxurious, more powerful, great handling (the days of tippy SUV’s are pretty much over in this class). Where the Range Rover excels is if you wish to do any overland exploring on off road trails. It is simply amazing in its capability to handle trails in comfort and confidence. It has programmable functions for rock, sand, hill decent - the air suspension raises it for ground clearance, it is sealed for deep wading through rivers up to three feet deep. I have taken my RR Sport off road to remote campsites. Places I would never take a nice civilized SUV like a Volvo or BMW or the prissy Mercedes ML or GL. Nobody is surprised to see a Range Rover deep in the back country. In some places in Utah and Colorado - I have never seen a Volvo SUV (although I took my Volvo 145 wagon down the Schaeffer trail and onto the White Rim trail in Moab, Utah, we had people walk in front of it to remove rocks because of no ground clearance and were careful in maneuvering around obstacles. Some Jeep drivers were quite surprised to see us deep in the back country in a Volvo station wagon). As long as you only want to camp at KOA sites and use it for snow on ski trips, as long as yoiu stay off sandy beaches, the Volvo will be a very nice choice. As far as ‘better’ - that is such a broad subjective term. In this case, it is almost meaningless. Aesthetically - the Volvo is good looking but to me, the RR is better looking. For comfort - the Volvo is lovely, but I have long legs and the RR has better leg room. It is a tossup as to which has better seats. I will go with the massage heated and cooled seats in the Range Rover. Environmental concerns? Both have Electric options. Power - when you step on it - the V8 or turbo V6 in the Range Rover puts you back in the seat and gets the job done. The Volvo - you need to do some planning if you need to pass a long 18 wheeler on a two lane highway. You can drive either at over 100mph all day, but the Range Rover feels better and has power to spare. The Volvo gets better fuel economy - that goes with losing in the power category. As I mentioned, the RR is MUCH better off road. No comparrison. The Volvo is a better price, but you sacrifice prestige, which is better in Range Rovers. The Queen of England drives Range Rovers. Maybe the Queen of Sweden rides in a Volvo, but she secretly wishes to be in a Range Rover, I am certain. The Volvo is probaly better rated for safety in a crash, but the Range Rover is above average in safety and crash protection as well. The Volvo has better reliability scores, but I have not experienced a disapointment in my Range Rovers. And bear in mind, there are four different Land Rover Range Rovers - the entry Evoque, the Sporty Velar, the excellent Range Rover Sport and the king - the Range Rover in Vogue, HSE, Autobiography, SVAutobiography and Long Wheelbase versions. You only asked about the Volvo XC90, there is also an entry level small XC40, the mid range XC60 and the XC70, which was replaced by the XC90 in 2016. Why did you ask anonymously? It would have been nice to know what country you live in - sometimes that makes a difference. Both are premium SUVs. You should be happy with either. Only you will know if one or the other is ‘better’ for you.
