The Malaysian Institute of Road Safety Research (MIROS) has urged the government to ban the sale of car accessories that could pose a fatal risk, especially in the event of a crash. According to Berita Harian, one such item is the dummy buckle, which was originally meant for plus-sized individuals, but has since been misused by people who refuses to buckle up while driving. Besides, while Honda has released some Modulo accessories for the all-new City, Nissan has also a few accessories of their own. No, they aren’t by Impul or Nismo, for now. I remember the first time I heard of the Nurburgring was on Top Gear when Clarkson tried to make a lap time of under 10 minutes in a diesel Jaguar. He barely made the time but was outclassed by Sabine Schmidt. Needless to say, I always imagined how fast a Proton would go round the famous “Green Hell”. Well, a pair of Dutch twin brothers did just that with their taxi-liveried Proton Wira! The Gravemade brothers from Dutch DIY Mechanics (DDM), Jochem and Ruben turned a regular Proton Wira into a t

From aftermarket wheels, seats to steering wheels - chances are you can pick out a couple of modified cars just by looking around you. Check when you’re out and about, and you’ll see I’m right. Us Malaysians are a creative bunch, and it’s only natural that trickles down to our cars. As much as it’s cool to make the cars we drive truly our own, there are plenty of enthusiasts who go for low-quality, fake accessories. Sure, there are some people who ignorantly choose to get them, but a good majori

Malaysia’s almost annual battle with haze is becoming especially severe this year. Several locations in Penang and Sarawak have already recorded API (Air Pollution Index) readings of over 200 (very unhealthy). The reading in Kuching is inching closer to the hazardous level of 300. Haze is contributed by microscopic size particulate matter (PM) pollutants measuring no more than 2.5 micrometers. Ordinary air filters are ineffective against PM 2.5 pollutants, which is why the public are advised to
