Dash cams might do more than record accidents, it might fix our behaviour

Road conduct and rules may differ, but there is one trait Malaysian road users share with the rest of the world, and that is our morbid curiosity with road accidents. Just like the rest of the world, we rubberneck at accident scenes and upload dash cam footage to the internet. Though trying to score that lucky “nombor empat ekor” looks to be a uniquely Malaysian thing. Whether you think dash cams are an invasion of privacy or the best thing to happen to YouTube, the fact is it is here to stay. N

Caught on camera: Car wash worker crashes brand-new Mazda CX-5

On the 17th of February, photos of a brand-new Mazda CX-5 turned turtle in front of a car wash shop surfaced on social media causing Malaysians to wonder: how did a car wash go so wrong? According to Sin Chew Daily, the car wash worker had mistakenly put the CX-5 in reverse and the car had shot out of the shop, hitting 2 cars before coming to a halt. What to do if your AEB-equipped car has a broken windscreen?

The short answer is that the AEB hardware needs to be recalibrated, which can only be done at an authorized service centre (at the moment, unless there is an independent repairer here that has invested in the necessary tools). You can still have the windscreen replaced at the windscreen repairer of your choice, but after replacing the glass, you need to bring the car back to the authorized service centre to have the AEB camera recalibrated. Well, this is the unfortunate downside of insisting on

It’s 2020 and while we still haven’t seen any flying cars whizzing around, it’s fair to say that the tech we’re getting in today’s cars has improved tremendously. Want proof? Fast forward fifteen years later and a lot of the tech seen in a large German luxury car that cost nearly a million ringgit at the time are seen in regular cars today like the Toyota Vios and even the humble Perodua Myvi. 2020 Honda new models – Accord, City, and more for Malaysia!

Surprising as it may sound, Honda Malaysia launched only one new model in 2019, which was the facelifted Honda HR-V. That marks quite a drop, considering that Honda Malaysia was rather aggressive with new product launches back in 2017 and 2018. The reason is due to delays in pricing approvals by the government, which not only delayed products from Honda, but other manufacturers as well. Pay BMW money for an Accord? The all-new tenth-generation Honda Accord has found its way across multiple count

Pros and Cons: Proton Persona – Punchy handling, punched out CVT

The Proton Persona might be one of the most exciting-handling cars on a budget. No, I’m serious and this is coming from someone who has very mixed feelings on the Exora. The Persona might be one of those cars that would look great as a sleeper and it even comes with a manual, if you’re the sort who prefers a traditional, engaging drive at the expense of creature comforts. But enough reminiscing over the beauty (and sometimes left leg aching pain) of a manual, most people these days would rather
