Mercedes-Benz CLA handles worse than a Kia Picanto?

The moose test is an evasive maneuver test done to evaluate how well a vehicle performs when evading an obstacle on the road. It is a test of the car’s handling balance and stability control. The term was coined after Swedish car magazine Teknikens Varld flipped over a first-gen Mercedes-Benz A-Class in a test to measure the car’s ability to avoid hitting a moose, which is a common sight in Sweden. Funny that the Mercedes-Benz A-Class was mentioned, because the latest generation Mercedes-Benz CL

The Mercedes T 80 - Hitler's flawed land speed record breaker

It’s the early 1930s and Hitler’s Third Reich is newly in power. What could be a better way to boost credibility and throw a pie in Britain's face than claiming the land-speed record? Hitler's bid to grab the land speed record The Mercedes T 80 was the vehicle to achieve that goal. It featured the best of the best Germany had to offer in that era - 44-litre Messerschmitt plane engine powering a Ferdinand Porsche design and piloted by Hans Stuck. It’s goal? Hideyuki Miyakawa – Japan’s secret agent of car design you never heard of

The early days of the car industry was dictated by Europe and America. Germany invented the combustion engine and the automobile, Italy made the best bodies, while USA pioneered mass production and market segmentation. Although Nissan, Toyota, Mitsubishi, and Isuzu – the earliest of Japanese manufacturers - traced their history back to the 1930s, Japan didn’t enter the automotive industry in a big way until the ‘60s. Intervention by the Japanese military government prior to World War 2 had force

UMW Toyota Motor makes final call for last few units of Toyota GR Yaris

Just like everywhere else in the world, the Toyota GR Yaris has received heaps of praises even here in Malaysia. Only 25,000 units of this homologated special are being produced by Toyota with less than 200 units earmarked for Malaysia. To be specific, that number is 127 units, and honestly, that sounds generous enough, considering that Thailand had only 71 units allocated for them. It appears that as fast as the GR Yaris is in terms of performance, it’s also driving out of showrooms as quickly.

Why do automakers prefer Continental tyres?

Tyres, the round, black donuts that are often overlooked by its users. Objectively speaking, tyres are one of the most important components in your car. It’s been often said that tyres are your vehicle’s only contact patches with the road surface. Therefore, carmakers spend a considerable amount of time and effort to match the right tyres to their cars. It isn’t just about slapping on any random tyre on the cars that roll of the production line. Carmakers work very closely with tyre brands from
