Want your car to last a million miles? Take advice from a man who did 3.2 million

Whether you use the metric or imperial measurement unit, the numbers on an analogue odometer usually only went up to 999,999. Hitting a million miles or a million kilometres then, would ‘reset’ your odometer. Although achieved by various commercial vehicles, it is quite rare for a private owned passenger vehicle to cross the million-mile mark. A million miles equals 1,609,344 km. On average, Malaysian drivers cover 28,188 km in a year. That means the average Malaysian would take 57 years to hit

Should you clean your engine bay?

Getting your car cleaned is very satisfying. Most of us just pay to get them cleaned while some of us prefer to do the job ourselves. Either way, the shiny exterior and spotless interior never fail to make our cars feel fresh. It’s the similar feeling you get after getting a haircut. One area that rarely gets attention at a car wash is the engine bay. Most of us never pop the hood unless our car breaks down or we need to fill up the wiper fluid. If left attended for a long time, the engine bay c

Standardised number plates for Malaysian cars – 20 years later, still nothing to show

Earlier this week, the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development said that the Ministry of Transport will table a new bill to replace vehicle stickers for persons with disabilities with a special number plate. The bigger question is, why after more than 20 years, Malaysia still can’t enforce standardized vehicle number plates? Proposals
