Fancy a top-less Perodua Kancil? It's on sale!

We’ve seen videos of creative project cars from all over the world and even from the less urban areas of Malaysia, the last thing we would expect to see is someone making a project out of a Perodua Kancil and turn it into a top-less "convertible". But that was exactly what surfaced on a Facebook group dedicated to selling second-hand cars. We have to say, it’s pretty cute. It is impossible to tell what year the Kancil was manufactured, because other than having its roof seared off, the owner has

Unlucky Toyota GR Yaris written off after barely over 1k km!

The Toyota GR Yaris is an exclusive hot hatch with only 25,000 units being produced worldwide. Sadly, it appears there’s one less in the world with this sorry sight of a GR Yaris that’s been trashed with only 1,048 km of mileage! According to data from a Japanese salvage auction site, this was a First Edition variant. Looking at the bodywork, it appears to be a total loss with both the front and back of the hot hatch completely ruined. Car enthusiasts would be so disappointed to see the fate of

When Japan stopped working half Saturdays, the Toyota RAV4 became No.1. Here’s why

The Toyota RAV4 is the world’s most popular SUV, holding a strong lead over the Honda CR-V and Nissan X-Trail. The RAV4 is also the fourth best-selling car model worldwide, after the Ford F-Series, Toyota Corolla, and Honda Civic. Earlier this year, the Toyota RAV4 crossed its 10 millionth unit sales milestone, after 26 years on the market (since 1994). All these might come as a surprise to many Malaysians because the Toyota RAV4 has never been a strong contender in here. Few RAV4s were sold her

Extending SST cut to June 2021 - good news for Proton, not so good for Perodua

Yesterday’s sudden announcement by the Ministry of Finance (MoF) to extend sales tax (SST) exemption for new locally-assembled (CKD) cars, and SST discount for imported (CBU) new and reconditioned cars, to 30-June 2021 was quite unexpected. Honda's B-segment sedan will now one-up its chief rival the Toyota Vios with an all-new 1.0-litre turbocharged engine. The latest Honda City is not expected to be launched in Malaysia until 2021. Thailand remains the only market in the world to sell it, to be followed by India in the second half of 2020, and the rest of world starting 2021. This means that we can't give you

MINI Malaysia minimizes prices by up to RM 14k

In light of Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yasin’s announcement last week, BMW Group Malaysia has released its new pricelist for both CKD and CBU models. The model that sees the most significant price cut, at RM 13,997.17, is the 306 PS MINI JCW Countryman. We’ve driven it at the track and its engine is stonking. 5 cars with the highest road tax price in Malaysia

Some say that our road tax structure is archaic and demand an emissions-based system. One way to pay less road tax in Malaysia is to opt for a smaller engine, which usually means opting for turbocharged cars or hybrid cars. The road tax of a car can be a deal-breaker to some, and it is one of the reasons we don’t see that many V8 engines around. Used cars with big engines are a big turn off, since the annual road tax is almost half their value. So, just how expensive can the road tax be? Well, h

We even surpass United Kingdom (37) and New Zealand (48), and we’re just 1 rank below Germany, the country famous for its Autobahn.
