Once popular in Malaysia, what happened to the Honda Stream and Toyota Wish?

Twenty years ago, when the MPV was still an in-thing, Honda launched the Stream. Three years later, in 2003, Toyota launched its own challenger into the ring, the Wish. Both these MPVs were a delight among families who wanted an MPV that gave off a sporty presence. They were once commonly seen on Malaysian roads, and perhaps some of you reading this might even grow up with one. Eventually, the idea of a car-like MPV evolved into crossover SUVs as both the Toyota Wish and Honda Stream saw sales d

Panduan membeli Toyota Wish generasi kedua (AE20) serendah RM 40k, pencabar Alza - Exora sebenar?

Kini 12 tahun sel

Here are some Modulo kits to make the all-new 2020 Honda City look faster!

Honda has officially launched the all-new 2020 Honda City in Malaysia but for those who want the torquey RS, you’d have to wait until January 2021. Starting at RM 74,191 (without SST and valid until 31-Dec 2020) for the S variant, the all-new City is priced pretty attractively and looks pretty good even for the petrol-powered variants. However, for those who wish for their GN City to look fast, there is a Modulo aero styling pack that is available for the S, E, and V variants. Honda calls the ki

Deal breakers: 2020 Honda BR-V, why only 2 airbags?

By and large, the Honda BR-V is a car that we’d happily recommend to families. It’s pretty well-built, seats 7, and features Honda’s famed interior packaging. Combine that with a solid powertrain package, and you can see why the BR-V is such a hit with its audience. 3 years on from its launch (the facelift model remains just as popular), the Honda BR-V remains a very compelling choice for buyers looking who want a no-frills, reliable and value-for-money motoring experience. With that said, there

Someone double parked and blocked you? No problem

All it took was 7 minutes and a group of Malaysians to lift a Toyota Wish that double parked and blocked a Perodua Myvi from coming out of its parking space. From the video, it appears that the Myvi driver got the attention of one passerby, who later got more help from other passersby. Amazingly, the group of men found lifts to lift the Toyota Wish and repositioned the MPV, allowing the Myvi to exit. Watch the full video here.

Five decent alternatives to the Proton Saga/Perodua Bezza that we wish we could have

Globally, the A-segment sedan is not a very popular category of cars. Squeezing a three-box format design into the tiny dimensions of an entry-level sedan don’t make for very visually appealing proportions. At such size, it’s debatable if a sedan is any more practical than a hatchback with folding rear seats, but still, consumers in many developing markets (Malaysia included) have a preference for budget sedans so manufacturers happy to comply. As such, it’s inevitable that all A-segment sedans

SUV vs Sedan - Which is more comfortable?

The answer is sedan. Surprised? Well, let us explain by taking the Volkswagen Passat and Volkswagen Tiguan as examples. The Passat is chosen here because the Jetta is no longer on sale in Malaysia, and both the Passat and Tiguan are based on the MQB platform. Why aren't SUVs as comfortable? SUVs, like the Volkswagen Tiguan, have higher centre of gravity. Which means the driver as well as the passengers are seated further away from the pivot point of the car. The high seating position means that

Doesn’t matter you identify as a male, female or a non-binary person, you can’t argue against that the Daihatsu Copen is one of the cutest roadsters out there. Displayed at the 2019 Tokyo Motor Show (TMS) is the souped-up Daihatsu Copen GR Sport in all its top-down glory. Let’s talk about styling first. All-new 2020 Nissan Almera vs Honda City – Which B-segment sedan to get?

The previous-generation Nissan Almera definitely didn’t win in the looks or performance department but it was one of the cheapest non-national B-segment sedans in the market. With the all-new 2020 Nissan Almera, it appears that it traded its looks for a more premium price. In fact, it’s more expensive than the all-new Honda City aside from the City RS which has yet to announce its price. Does this mean that the City is a better buy than the Almera? Well, let’s take a deep dive comparison between

Serdang police chief says PDRM not issuing compounds against MCO SOP rule breakers yet

You would think that since this is the second round of the Movement Control Order (MCO), Malaysians would know better and adhere to the standard operating procedures (SOP) like the 10 km radius ban. Deal breakers: Love the Volkswagen Tiguan, but wish its suspension was more pliant

Make no mistake, the Volkswagen Tiguan is an excellent SUV. It’s an excellent daily companion and a first-rate cruiser on highways. But like every other car, it isn’t perfect. Why do concept cars look so much better than normal cars?

As young car enthusiasts, we have all been excited by concept cars and their extreme aesthetics. The excitement usually comes to an abrupt end when you see the production version of the car – sporting smaller wheels, and looking like it gained a couple of pounds. As you mature, you make sense of the decisions to make production cars the way they are. Thicker tyres offer better ride comfort and a less sexy roofline actually makes for better ergonomics. A recurring theme you might notice in concep

Are bigger wheels good for your car? Or just all show but no go?

A simple way to give your car a fresh look is to fit it with a set of new wheels. It is the easiest form of “modification” and window shopping the right fit for your car can be fun. While the design/pattern of the wheel is subject to individual taste, one common “upgrade” is to go for wheels with a bigger diameter. Bigger wheels are aesthetically pleasing and give the car a more athletic look. Even manufacturers seem to agree to this and fit bigger wheels on range-topping variants. If the car wa
