Cheapest car on sale to feature AEB, the Perodua Axia

At RM 43,190, the Perodua Axia Advance is the cheapest car to come equipped with Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB). Most of us have been there, maybe something caught our attention away from the road momentarily, or we mispressed the accelerator pedal, or maybe we were too busy on *coughs* Facebook. A split second later and bam! But one feature that won’t be distracted or too busy is AEB. It is a system that detects an impending collision ahead and warns the driver. If the driver does not respo

A new car with Android Auto from just RM50k? Here's the list of the cheapest cars with it

It is no surprise that I am a strong believer of Android Auto – it encompasses everything you could possibly ask for in an infotainment system, including voice command, navigation, and music streaming. There's no need to fawn over the Proton X70's voice command, which we have to add, doesn't come with Android Auto or Apple CarPlay. With Android Auto, you use voice control to read/reply WhatsApp messages and enter a destination to Google Maps or Waze, as well as selecting your playlist on Spotify

This means that car park disclaimer notices posted at various locations of a parking lot informing visitors that the manageme

Volvo S60 T8 is the cheapest new car on sale with over 400 PS

In a world where a 1,500 PS Bugatti Chiron is allowed to roam freely on the public roads, we have become desensitised to horsepower figures. It wasn’t too long ago (the 90s wasn’t too long ago, right?) that 400 PS was reserved for supercars and super sports cars like the Ferrari 360 Modena (400 PS from a 3.6-litre V8) and Porsche 996.2 GT3 RS (405 PS from a 3.6-litre in-line 6). These days, everything from a little hatchback to a family saloon can pack 400 PS or more. Hence, it’s quite easy to s

Do you know how much are you losing on your car every month? GoCar Subs has a message for you

The actual cost of owning a car is a lot higher than just your monthly instalments, and we’re not talking about insurance or maintenance, itself already a big chunk of a car’s total ownership cost. Beyond maintenance, depreciation is the biggest ‘cost’ for a car owner. However, very few see it that way because it’s not something that you feel until you have to sell your car. It’s like losing money on stocks; it’s paper loss until you actually sell it, which you have to at some point. Remember th

Malaysian used and recon car dealers and their 50,000 plus workforce are at risk of being laid off should the Covid-19 crisis prolong for more than 2 months, according to a report by New Straits Times (NST). While dealers have braced for the impact of the Movement Control Order (MCO), the practically zero sales which leads to higher inventories, poor consumer sentiments on the economy, and high fixed operational cost are taking their toll. These are the 5 cheapest cars in Malaysia with adaptive headlights

It’s impressive how many modern cars today offer advanced safety features. It wasn’t that long ago that advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) suites were only offered on expensive, high-end cars. Now, even cars like the Perodua Axia offer ADAS and even some like the underrated Nissan Almera offer autonomous emergency brakes (AEB) as standard. Maintenance cost comparison: Proton X50, Honda City, Mitsubishi Xpander - Which car is the cheapest?

Before we get started, let’s dive into the figures first. Capping the period to 5 years/100,000 km, the Honda City costs RM 3,669 to maintain, while the Proton X50 costs RM 4,326 and the Mitsubishi Xpander costs RM 4,215. But before we go further, there is a reason why we are comparing an SUV, a sedan, and an MPV. The simple reason is because like all crossovers/SUVs these days, the X50 and Xpander are aimed at sedan/hatchback owners looking for an upgrade. There's no real reason why anyone need

(Model | Gallery) The Perodua Alza is Malaysia’s most affordable seven-seater, with a starting price of just slightly over RM 54,000 for the cheapest automatic transmission variant. However, the Alza is also very old, having been on the market since 2009. New car prices are going up not just in Malaysia, but also in the US, why so?

You are not the only one who think that cars are getting a little bit too expensive. Malaysians have long complained about high car prices due to our lopsided tax structure but actually, this is a question asked by consumers from all over the world. Data from USA’s Edmunds.com show that the average transaction price for a new car has gone up from USD 23,900 in year 2008 to almost USD 39,000 in 2019, the last available pre-pandemic level data. This flies against conventional logic. You would thin
