10 new models still to be launched in Malaysia! Oct. to be 2020’s most intense month for new car launches, why?

With at least five models confirmed to be launched in October, and another five more that are also very likely to join the growing list, October is definitely the busiest month of this year. That’s a nice problem to have considering the slump that the industry is in. Cumulative new vehicle sales in Malaysia for the first half of 2020 was down by over 40 percent compared to the same six-month period last year. The all-new 2020 Honda City, Nissan Almera, Proton X50, Hyundai Kona and Mitsubishi

Perodua Bezza: From Buddyz concept to production car

Following last week’s article where we traced the origins of the Perodua Axia, we now take a look at how the Axia’s booted-twin, the Bezza came into being. Unlike the Indonesian Daihatsu Ayla-based Perodua Axia, the Bezza is purely a Malaysian effort as there is no Indonesian equivalent to the Bezza. After the successful launch of the Perodua Myvi in 2005, Perodua spent a good part of a decade mulling over the need to introduce a sedan. Perodua Nautica – Is the successor to the Kembara really a bad car?

It was one of the worst-selling Perodua models ever, but the Perodua Nautica wasn’t a problematic car. It was the successor to the popular Kembara and Perodua was riding on a wave of successful models then as the second “national” carmaker began to overtake Proton as the best-selling make in Malaysia. To call the Nautica the worst Perodua model because of its lacklustre sales is pretty unfair considering what actually went wrong.
