Which do you think will protect you better? The Mazda CX-30 or Volvo XC40?

Volvo credentials in safety need no further introduction. The Swedish marque was the first to invent three-point seat belts but being Swedes, they care more about the wellbeing of the world around them than money – so they gave away the patent for free, thus waving away their rights to potentially tens of millions of dollars in royalty payments. Over the next few decades, Volvo continued to set new standards in both active and passive safety. Today, Volvo’s advanced driving aids are one of the b

Review: Perodua Axia 2019 Style - Stands out from the crowd, but is it enough?

( 2019 Perodua Axia Style Prices & Specs | Gallery ) The SUV and crossover trend is undoubtedly on the rise and it's happening globally. As much as fellow enthusiasts are against this trend, it's easy to see the appeal of an SUV; taller ride height for a better view out, greater sense of security, and go-anywhere ground clearance. Bearing that in mind, it's little wonder the Perodua Axia gets jazzed up with crossover elements for the Style variant. Despite its looks, it does not gain any additio

Perodua still sells 2x as many cars as Proton, why hasn’t MCO affected Perodua?

With the on-going Covid-19 putting a damper on businesses, you would expect that a budget car brand like Perodua, whose range of lower priced A- and B-segment cars are bought mostly by lower income B40 group consumers, will be affected more than higher range brands. Actually the opposite is true. While the government’s temporary suspension of sales tax have artistically boosted market demand, Perodua dealers are reporting a higher number of customers downgrading from Japanese brands to a Perodua

It’s time to stop using the term national cars to describe Proton and Perodua

Perusahaan Otomobil Nasional, the company which we now know as Proton Holdings, was established in 1983 as Malaysia’s national car company. Ten years later in 1993, Perusahaan Otomobil Kedua, better known as Perodua, was established as our second national national car company. We are now in the midst of setting up a third national car. All three national car companies were mooted by our then Prime Minister Dr. Mahathir Mohamad. In the early days, both Proton and Perodua were in every sense, a na

If you have been following our page, you would know that the Proton X50 has been awarded a maximum 5-star rating by ASEAN NCAP. Perodua Kancil vs Proton Saga – Which is the original Malaysian people’s car?

Okay, readers, this has been rattling around my head for the past week. As Malaysians, it is our sworn duty to protect and support all things Malaysian.
