2019 Proton Saga 1.3L 4AT Has An Official Fuel Consumption Of 6.7L/100km

6.7L/100 km based on the NEDC cycle Unchanged from previous 1.3L CVT Significant improvement from the Saga BLM 4-AT 2019 Proton Saga Transmission The recently launched Proton Saga facelift saw the reintroduction of the 4-speed torque converter automatic transmission replacing the Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT). 2019 Proton Persona 1.6L fuel consumption, 5.03L/100 km achievable?

During the Proton 1 Tank Adventure back in 2019, the lowest fuel consumption recorded in the 2019 Proton Persona 1.6L was 5.03-litre/100 km. However, the drivers were most definitely hypermiling the Persona with the air conditioning off and whatnot. We’ve tested it in normal conditions and here’s our result. As per our SOP (it has always been constant), all tyres were inflated according to the manufacturer's recommended tyre pressure. Then the Proton Persona’s 40-litre fuel tank was brimmed. Dri

Review: 2020 Proton Saga 1.3L Premium facelift, true definition of value for money

Proton took the right approach when they launched the 2020 Proton Saga facelift. Offering improved features and drivability at a lower price point for consumers. Their strategy of giving better value for money to the consumers is being rewarded in their sales numbers, with a monthly average of 3,500 cars delivered. The Saga facelift was crucial in helping Proton achieve their 2020 sales target of 100,000 units. Even as archrival, Perodua launched their updated Saga competitor, the price tag is j

Pros and Cons: 2020 Proton Saga – Love the value, but fuel economy is poor

The third-generation Proton Saga was introduced back in 2016 and it received its mid-life update in August 2019. Perhaps the biggest improvement done to the Saga was the discontinuation of the Punch-sourced CVT-type automatic transmission, which has been replaced by a Hyundai-sourced four-speed torque converter automatic unit. Previously a B-segment model, Proton has since redesignated the Saga as an A-segment sedan to compete against the Perodua Bezza – the Saga’s primary rival. The Proton Saga

All tyres were inflated according to the manufacturer's recommended tyre pressure of 230 kPa (cold tyres) for all four tyres. Then the Proton X70’s 60-litre fuel tank was brimmed. Proton claims the X50 returns a fuel consumption figure of 6.4-litre/100 km for the range-topping 1.5 TGDi Flagship variant. But what’s the real-world fuel consumption like? We tested the Proton X50 to find out. As per usual, all tyres were inflated according to the manufacturer's recommended tyre pressure. Then the Proton X50’s 45-litre fuel tank was brimmed. Air-conditioning was set at 22 degrees Celsius in automatic mode. Driving behaviour was normal, without aggressive throttle inputs or hyp

Proton X50 fuel consumption – 6.1L/100 km, over 730 km range

The Proton X50 will very likely be the national carmaker's next model launch but don't expect it to appear in showrooms anytime soon. Proton X50 Engine Spec We all know that the new compact crossover SUV will be based on the Geely Binyue and the Malaysian market will most certainly feature the 1.5-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine and 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. Is it true that the Proton X70 suffers from high fuel consumption?

Weighing nearly 1.7 tonnes for just a five-seater SUV, the Proton X70 is the heaviest C-segment SUV. Naturally, its fuel consumption is higher than the Honda CR-V, Mazda CX-5, or even Nissan X-Trail. But how much higher? Curiously, Proton doesn’t provide any official fuel consumption data for the Proton X70, which is powered by a turbocharged 1.8-litre direct injection engine. A similarly turbocharged but 1.5-litre Honda CR-V 1.5 TC-P has a claimed fuel consumption of 7.0-litre/100 km. The equiv

The common knowledge about smaller capacity turbocharged engines is that they are fuel efficient. We’ve put the Honda CR-V 1.5 TC-P through the WapCar fuel consumption test to find out if it adheres to the norm. Powering the Honda CR-V is a turbocharged 1.5-litre 4-cylinder engine that makes 193 PS and 243 Nm of torque. In the 1.5 TC-P variant, drive goes to the front wheels via a CVT.
