The entry-variant BYD Seal, the Dynamic Standard Range, has been launched in Malaysia, priced at RM 163,800. Fully imported (CBU) from China, the new variant gives a more wallet-friendly option, but don’t go thinking “entry-level” means it skimps on the good stuff. Sure, it’s the least powerful of the bunch, but the Dynamic Standard Range still packs a decent punch. Under the bonnet – or rather, the rear axle – it’s got the same 204 PS motor you’ll find in the BYD Atto 3 Extended Range and Dolph

BYD is forecasted to sell around 3.6 million battery EV (BEV) and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) cars in 2024. Out of this, only 500,000 units (or 14%) will be sold outside of China. BYD is still heavily dependent on the Chinese domestic market, which is becoming increasingly difficult as consumers cut back on spending. BYD’s long-term goal is for exports (including the production of knocked down – KD – units in overseas plants) to contribute nearly 50% of BYD’s total sales. “Our overseas market will acc

BYD is projected to reach a total of 10,000 units in Malaysia within the next two months. This estimate is based on registration data from the Road Transport Department (JPJ), which indicates that as of June 2024, BYD has registered 8,873 units. While BYD's initial presence in Malaysia was through bus registrations, the number of these vehicles is not significant enough to impact the projection. The bulk of registrations have come from passenger cars, with deliveries beginning in early 2023 foll

The 2025 BYD Seal facelift has been revealed in China, and like how they always do things, it is crammed with so much new stuff it might as well be a new model – but it looks pretty much the same from the outside, so a facelift it is. Despite looking pretty much the same as before, the most notable is the bulge on its roof. That's a LiDAR sensor – fitted on a BYD sedan for the first time – and its meant to improve the car's Level 2+ DiPilot 300 ADAS system. Key improvements made to the car's ADA
