The second generation Avanza was launched in Malaysia in 2012. Toyota introduced a second iteration of the car to compete with the Honda BR-V and the Perodua Aruz. The Avanza uses the same 1.5-liter engine that tows the Myvi. The engine output was 103bhp, but the response was slow. The third row is also less comfortable than cars such as the Nissan Serana. It still works well on city streets and highways. But overtaking takes some effort. Performances are for everyday travel, not for audiophiles. Again, the Avanza is not an express train.
