Based on the Thai-spec Toyota Fortuner, the 2021 Toyota Fortuner facelift might receive a more powerful 2.8-litre engine from the Toyota Hilux Rogue. It makes 204 PS and 500 Nm of torque (a 30 PS and 50 Nm increase over the outgoing model), mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission.
Convenience features are expected to get a boost with the inclusion of wireless charger and hands-free powered tailgate. We can also expect Android Auto/Apple CarPlay connectivity since it’s available in the outgoing Toyota Fortuner as an option.
We’re also expecting the new Fortuner to come equipped with Toyota’s suite of ADAS as seen in Thai-spec Legender variants - TSS (Toyota Safety Sense), with features like Pre-Collision System (AEB), Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Departure Alert with steering assist, and RCTA.
