During the debut of the 2021 Hyundai Elantra N, Hyundai N boss Albert Biermann revealed that the company is working on a high-performance N-fied electric vehicle (EV).
"With E-GMP, we have a very substantial platform to bring sustainable driving fun to our enthusiasts, on road and on the track. And I think after some N-specific treatment, it would be tons of fun to drive around Nordschleife with an N vehicle based on E-GMP," he said at the end of the Elantra N reveal video.
"And I can see many many corners where our combustion cars might have some trouble keeping up with our E-GMP N car," he added.
Biermann also said, "I'm looking forward to bringing the 'corner rascal' to our enthusiasts based on E-GMP."
In terms of design, Biermann teased viewers by asking "Which upper body should we take?". He went on to say, "Do you remember the sketches Sang Yup (Executive Director, Hyundai Design Center) showed us?"
At this rate, it's a matter of "when" will Hyundai unveil its N-fied EV, rather than "if".
You catch the conversation between Biermann and his team members in the video below, from the 8:26 mark.

Seeing how EVs of the future would be roughly the same between manufacturers, it’s actually genuinely refreshing to see companies like Hyundai still have faith that even EVs can be fun-to-drive. A cornering rascal? That pretty much cements the fact that Hyundai's N-fied EVs would have some serious Nurburgring lap times.
In a world where EVs are inevitable, these new N-fied EVs might be right up the alley for future driving enthusiasts.
