During the launch of the Audi Q8 e-tron and Audi e-tron GT, Erik Winter, Managing Director of PHS Automotive Malaysia (PHSAM), mentioned that the company is currently in the process of bringing in the SQ8 e-tron as well as the Q6 e-tron, the former could be introduced by 2023.
"I am pleased to announce that this is only the beginning, as we are already working to bring in more e-tron models here, including the flagship SQ8, and the Q6 e-tron, which will make its global debut later this year," said Erik.

The Audi SQ8 e-tron is the range-topping variant of the Q8 e-tron model, available in both the standard and Sportback body style. It has three electric motors: A 168-PS electric motor is installed on the front axle, while the rear axle consists of two electric motors, each providing 133 PS of power to individually drive a rear wheel.
This configuration enables a maximum boost performance of 503 PS and 973 Nm. The distribution of drive torque between the two rear electric motors and the wheels can be instantaneously adjusted.
Battery capacity and charging capability mirror the Q8 e-tron 55 variants, with a 106 kWh (114 gross kWh) battery that DC charges at up to 170 kW, while AC charging is up to an optional 22 kW.
Meanwhile, the Audi Q6 e-tron has only been showcased as a prototype and is yet to enter production and is anticipated to be unveiled later this year.

Built on the Premium Platform Electric (PPE) with an 800V architecture, the Q6 e-tron will share its platform with the next-generation Porsche Macan, like how the Audi e-tron GT is related to the Porsche Taycan. The expected arrival of the Q6 e-tron in Malaysia is by the end of 2024.
The company said that momentum for electric vehicles (EVs) in Malaysia has been fuelled by government incentives and industry collaborations to achieve the governmentβs target of having 1.5 xEVs in Malaysia by 2040. They believe uptake for EVs will continue as electro-mobility becomes increasingly mainstream in the years to come.
