CKD 7-seater 2022 Kia Carnival to make Malaysia debut at the WapCar Auto Show this weekend

In a surprise turn of events, Dinamikjaya Motors has just confirmed that a locally-assembled three-row seat variant of the 2022 Kia Carnival will be making its Malaysian debut at this weekend’s WapCar Auto Show at Pavilion Bukit Jalil.
Currently, the 2022 Kia Carnival is imported (CBU) from Korea, and it’s only available as a four-row 11-seater, powered by a 2.2-litre turbodiesel that makes 202 PS and 441 Nm, paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission. But this information is only academic, because all allocation for the model is already sold out.
From what we gathered, the CKD three-row seat model will be available either as a 7- or 8-seater.
It will be the first CKD Kia model sold by Dinamikjaya Motors, the new custodian of the Kia brand in Malaysia, having taken over from Naza in 2021.
Will the 7- / 8-seater variant get a digital instrument cluster that's missing from the 11-seater variant? We will find out soon
The model will be produced by Kia Malaysia, a joint venture between Dinamikjaya Motors’ parent company Bermaz Auto and Korea’s Kia Motors Corporation, at Inokom’s plant in Kulim, which is also partially owned by Bermaz.
Apart from the CKD Kia Carnival, the fully electric Kia EV6 will also be making its first local public debut at the event.

Priced from RM 301k and with extremely high demand worldwide, the Kia EV6 is a very rare car and every single available unit from the first shipment has already been booked, so you can’t view this car at just any Kia dealership.
The WapCar Auto Show Exhibition will take place at Pavilion Bukit Jalil, from Friday to Sunday, 10am to 10 pm.
Apart from Kia, other exhibitors include Mazda, Peugeot, Honda, Toyota, and Mercedes-Benz. Good deals on auto accessories including DDPai dashcams, Trapo car hygiene products, IGL Coatings paint protection, Karcher car wash products, custom-made DK Schweizer leather upholstery, and Harman’s Infinity audio systems, will also be available.
The event will take place at the piazza area of Pavilion Bukit Jalil. Visitors are encouraged to register online here to redeem a free door gift. The nearest covered parking to the exhibition area is Car Park Entrance C, just before the slip road to exit the main road into Pavilion Bukit Jalil.
