It appears that Nissan Malaysia has embraced the family theme from the Fast & Furious with a couple of advertisements for the Nissan Navara that's clearly inspired by the street racing movie franchise.
The first ad focuses on the Navara’s driver assistance systems, mainly the blind spot warning system and the collision prediction warning.

It starts with two older classic sports cars, a Datsun Fairlady 280Z and a first-generation Toyota Celica, duking it out on the highway. While it’s obvious they were going for an American muscle car feel, their Japanese counterparts were the ones to give proper muscle cars a run for their money back in the day, so it’s a fair trade off.

Either way, Dominic Toretto’s doppelganger is behind the wheel of the Navara and is first alerted to the cars racing by the blind spot monitoring system as they rush past him. While the real Dom wouldn’t be caught dead in anything but a muscle car, with baby Brian now a fixture in the movies, perhaps something a little more practical appeals to the man.
Next, the 2 cars collide with each other in front of a lorry that is in turn, in front of fake Dom’s Navara. Fortunately for him and his family, the Navara’s Predictive Forward Collision Warning senses two cars ahead and it able to warn the driver to brake sooner.
Fake Dom then drops a one-liner to the drivers as he passes them. What’s the line? You can watch the video below to find out.
As for the other video, it’s more about demonstrating the Navara’s aesthetics over any active function but you’ll also notice plenty of other aesthetically-pleasing things in the video, such as the a few generations of the Nissan Skyline… among others.
