According to a report by Reuters, Thailand’s Board of Investment (BoI) has held talks with 5 major Chinese EV manufacturers during a trip to China back in April. Brands include Geely, BYD, Changan, JAC Motor and Jiangling Motor Corp (JMC).
Thailand’s BoI Secretary General Narit Therdsteerasukdi said, “"All expressed keen interest in Thailand's policy to develop a regional EV production base and an integrated EV supply chain.”

Both BYD and GWM are currently working to manufacture EVs in Thailand.
As for Geely, one of the unnamed Geely source mentioned that there are additional complications because the company has been given working-level autonomy to its brand-level operating groups like Geometry, Zeekr, and Radar Auto. "They have to decide what model to bring to Thailand," the person added.
