MAA: March 2024 sees 74k cars sold in Malaysia, 10% more than February

The Malaysian Automotive Association (MAA) has announced that 71,052 new cars were sold in March 2024. While sales of the month were 10% more than February, it's 10% lesser than the same month last year.

MAA remarked that the heightened deliveries for March 2024 could be drawn to two factors: rush for deliveries before carmakers end their fiscal year, and promotional campaigns in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidilfitri.

Meanwhile, production output in March 2024 went up slightly compared to February, totalling 66,923 vehicles versus 65,611 units in the month prior.

The Association however says that sales in April 2024 is expected to be lower than in March, owing to the short working month in the third month due to Hari Raya holidays.
