Basic information of my car:

Proton Persona 2019 Executive (RM49600)

Reasons why I bought this car

I need a car for daily use. I was looking for a sedan car, mainly because personally I prefer a sedan looking car and also practicability for daily use.

Car Selection Process

I had a budget of: RM50000

Models that I’ve considered included : Used Honda City GM6 and Perodua Bezza

I prefer a car which is better in handling and also more stable when drive. Besides, I also prefer a car that still within warranty so that I could enjoy it with a peace of mind because that time I just start to work and don’t have a high budget on car maintenance.

User experience

• I have already done 35200km
• My average fuel consumption is 9L/100km.
• The car actually does not have a very well fuel consumption, I think mainly due to the HPF body, and also the engine. On the other hand, the car is comfortable to drive. The interior looks nice and premium to me. Nice car to drive especially on highway(if don’t drive too fast, follow the speed limit, or exceed by little). Otherwise you will feel the wind and also the engine/CVT noise.

Pros of my car:

• Stable and nice handling
• Comfortable car seats
• Interior looks premium (at this price range)
• Big boot space
• Plenty of storage space

Cons of my car:

• Slightly high fuel consumption
• Noise (Wind, tyre and engine/CVT) at high speed
• Rattling sound in dashboard (Depend on luck, maybe)
• Body roll when cornering is quite obvious
• No active safety system
• Interior build and assemble quality (one of the issue that caused rattling sound)
• Jerky CVT on low speed (especially when traffic jam)

Summary :

At first I chose this car due to its ride and handling, but end up I more appreciate its comfortability, mainly due to the body roll. I upgraded the whole sound system of my car with sound damping and proofing (Trust me, fender sound damping will cut off a lot of tyre noise), it’s an enjoyable car. I don’t regret owning this car because it really let me enjoy every moment on this car, just a drawback of higher fuel consumption.
