Rail-free sliding door from Century SUV goes Lexus, LF-ZL flagship EV concept unveiled

Unveiled alongside the Lexus LF-ZC at the Japan Mobility Show is the LF-ZL (Lexus Future Zero-emission Luxury), a preview of what’s to come for Lexus’ all-electric flagship.

Not much is known about the Lexus LF-ZL, only that it boasts an overall length of 5,300 mm, a width of 2,020 mm, a height of 1,700 mm, and a wheelbase measuring 3,350 mm. The concept vehicle also showcases a rail-free sliding door mechanism that was first seen on the Toyota Century SUV.

Like the LF-ZC, it integrates the full capabilities of the Arene OS with its AI technology and over-the-air (OTA) updates.

The LF-ZL is said to take full advantage of the flexibility offered by EV-specific design and optimises interior space to create a spacious and serene cabin.

Another highlight is a concept called "Interactive Reality in Motion," the car's onboard sensors work in sync with digital data from its surroundings.

When drivers point to objects or places of interest during their journey, the car's display instantly provides information along with voice guidance, thereby strengthening the connection between passengers and their environment.
