At the ongoing 2024 Singapore Motor Show, the Volvo EX30 has made its local debut. Only one variant will be available at launch – the EX30 Ultra Single Motor Extended range, which is estimated to be priced at around SGD 185,000 (around RM 645k) with COE.

The Volvo EX30 Single Motor Extended Range variant is equipped with a 64 kWh (usable) lithium nickel manganese cobalt (NMC) extended-range battery located at the rear for RWD. This battery provides a range of up to 480 km (WLTP), with the electric motor delivering an output of 272 PS and 343 Nm.

Charging options include a maximum AC input of 11 kW, enabling a full battery charge in 7.5 hours. DC fast charging reaches a peak of 153 kW, allowing the battery to reach a 10-80% state of charge in 26.5 minutes.

The interior boasts sustainable materials such as recycled denim and flax, offering a variety of expressive colors and textures. The dashboard features a central 12.3-inch screen, complemented by a Harman Kardon soundbar spanning its width for high-quality audio.

For infotainment, the EX30 incorporates 5G capability and integrates Google services, including Google Assistant, Google Maps navigation, and Google Play. Wireless Apple CarPlay is also supported.

The chassis and safety cage utilize high-strength steel to efficiently mitigate potential crash impacts. Additional reinforcement is applied to the A and C pillars and the roof to optimize structural integrity. The vehicle includes a far-side airbag within the driver's seat to reduce head and thorax injuries in side-impact scenarios.

The EX30 introduces new active safety features, including a cyclist alert system to prevent accidents involving opening car doors near oncoming objects. There’s a sensor behind the steering wheel detecting driver distraction or drowsiness.

It also features an updated version of the Park Pilot Assist, capable of handling various parking scenarios, including parallel, curved, perpendicular, and diagonal fishbone-style parking.
