The emotional roller coaster of VW ads from the 2000s

Ads are annoying and even some people in ad agencies can attest that (I used to work in one, so I know the feeling is mutual). However, there are still some ads that make you intrigued and wanting to know more. For automakers, probably one that stood out was Volkswagen. The history of Volkswagen’s iconic ads began in the 1950s and 1960s when the German car company hired Doyle Dane Bernbach (DDB) to be their ad agency. What resulted was a series of witty and simple print ads depicting the Beetle

Review: Mitsubishi Outlander 2.0 4WD; Long in the tooth but still worthy of attention

The Mitsubishi Outlander has been on sale in Malaysia since 2017 and calling it a little long in the tooth is an understatement. The model itself has been in its third generation since 2013 and looking at the spec sheet, we have to say that the 7-seater C-segment SUV is in serious need of an overhaul. But spec sheet aside, is the Outlander still worthy of your consideration? When you say 7-seater C-segment SUV, the Outlander rarely comes to mind over competitors like the Nissan X-Trail and the K

Save up to RM 50k on a recond car or go for Certified Pre-Owned car?

When it comes to shopping for a car, terms like reconditioned cars and certified pre-owned (CPO) cars get tossed around a fair bit. On paper, both CPO and reconditioned (recond) cars are very similar – both are cheaper than a new car, allowing the buyer to save some money. But that’s where the similarities end, as they are world’s apart once you look closer. Recond cars – good on paper, but buyers beware While it may seem tempting to save RM 40k to RM 50k on a recond car versus a brand-new car,

Running in your new car, still relevant?

Running in (or breaking in) your new car is a standard practice that has been recommended by car manufacturers for the longest time. The task is simple – drive the car until the designated mileage set for the first service (anything from 1,000-2,000 km), but do not exceed 3,000-4,000 rpm to let all the mechanical bits ‘set in’. However, automotive technology have advanced tremendously in the automotive world, with manufacturers utilizing better quality materials for the mechanical bits, all in t
