Mercedes-Benz E-Class – Overview Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has finally launched the facelifted 2021 Mercedes-Benz E-Class, now narrowed down to just two variants with a regular combustion engine. The Plug-in hybrid model is ‘not available yet’ and could return given improvements in the incentives for auto assemblers. For the 2021 Mercedes-Benz E-Class facelift range, two variants are on offer – E200 Avantgarde and E300 AMG Line, priced at RM 326,943 and RM 375,432 respectively, and locally assembled in Pekan, Pahang. This price range puts it in direct competition with the usual suspects BMW 5 Series, Lexus ES, Volvo S90 and Jaguar XF.
BMW Malaysia has enlarged their BMW 5 Series family by introducing 2 new sibling-variants: 530i M Sport and 530e Sport. And now the 5 Series family has totally 4 available variants: 2019 520i Luxury, 2019 530e Sport, 2019 530e M Sport and 2019 530i M Sport. With a price range from RM 328,800 to RM 372,800, BMW 5 Series is now fiercely competing against Lexus ES , Mercedes-Benz E-Class , Volvo S90 , and Jaguar XF . Volvo S90 Overview The Volvo S90 is the Swedish automaker’s flagship 4-door executive sedan. Locally assembled in Shah Alam, Malaysia, the flagship sedan recently received a mid-life update in April 2021 and the two variants on offer are the T5 Momentum and the Recharge T8 Inscription Plus, the latter being a plug-in hybrid with electric all-wheel drive. Changes to the updated model are subtle and are mainly cosmetic. Price for the Recharge T8 Inscription Plus starts from RM 339,315 (OTR without insurance) and the price for the T5 Momentum is yet to be announced by Volvo Car Malaysia. Volvo offers a five-year, unlimited-mileage manufacturer warranty as well as an eight-year, limited warranty (160,000 km) on the PHEV battery for a worry-free ownership experience. The flagship executive sedan goes up against rivals in the likes of the BMW 5 Series , Mercedes-Benz E class , Audi A6 and the Lexus ES .
Gentleman or lady, this is the first call I would describe the man or the woman who sits behind the wheel of a Mercedes. Germany’s BBA team (Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi) always can grasp the point of elegance and luxury very well. I personally think Mercedes has a more gentleman and lady stance compared with other members in BBA. But today we focus the 2018 C-Class C200 and C300, whose rivals are BMW 3 Series and Audi A4 .
