RM 299,000
Toyota GR Yaris – Overview The Toyota GR Yaris, almost every motoring reviewer or journalist who has driven it gives it the full score. Looks great, a punchy engine and a chassis that just keeps on gripping. The fun-to-drive sensation is strong here too, making everything else from Honda, Volkswagen and Renault feel clinical. For the Malaysian market, UMW Toyota is only offering the full package- Toyota GR Yaris with Performance Package. As the name suggests, this package comes with beefier suspension setting, a thicker front anti-roll bar, forged 18-inch BBS wheels wrapped in 225/40R18 Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres and a Torsen limited-slip differential in the front and rear axles. While it is priced at RM 286,896, there is no direct competitor to the Toyota GR Yaris in Malaysia, as the Volkswagen Golf R Mk 7.5 has long been discontinued, while the new generation is not for sale yet. The Renault Megane RS 300 is now priced at RM 326,477 while the Audi RS3 and Honda Civic Type R are not available in Malaysia. At the higher end of the scale are the BMW M135i xDrive at RM 355,646.25 and the Mercedes-AMG A35 4Matic at RM 366,785.05. Included in the local UMW Toyota sales package for the 127 lucky customers is an Early Bird Package that will see buyers receive an exclusive helmet bag, a GR Yaris scale model and entry to a GR Yaris Driving Experience - all of which is said to be worth RM 5,000.

Renault Megane RS
RM 279,000 - 299,000
Renault Megane R.S Overview The Renault Megane R.S is the French’s answer to the likes of the Honda Civic Type R, the Volkswagen Golf GTI and the Ford Focus ST. Unlike its 3-door coupé predecessor, the current generation hot hatch is based on the fourth-generation Renault Megane hatchback which comes in a more family-friendly 5-door flavor only. Offering first-in-class ‘4Control’ rear-wheel steering system, the Renault Megane R.S is the only car of its size that can swivel its rear wheel, promising a more agile handling while aiding in high-speed stability. Renault Megane R.S sits on a more track-focused Cup chassis and features Formula One inspired styling. Two variants available in Malaysia are the 280 Cup Manual and the 280 Cup EDC (Efficient Dual Clutch). Prices start from RM279,888 for the manual variant and Rm 299,888 for the EDC equipped variant.
MINI 3 Door
RM 200,188 - 290,288
MINI 3 Door – Overview Although MINI has a long history stretching back to the late 50s, modern MINIs only came into the story early in 2000. Currently, the iconic little car is in its 3rd generation, or Mk III, and its 3-door format is given the designation F56. This generation was introduced in 2013, and have since gone through an update in 2018 that saw engine and aesthetic changes, and then another facelift in 2021 to keep the car fresh. It’s a good move from the brand, we think, as lifestyle cars like MINI should keep up with current trends as best they can. Globally, there are 4 variants of the MINI 3 Door. They are the MINI One 3 Door, MINI Cooper 3 Door, MINI Cooper S 3 Door, and MINI John Cooper Works. Powering the former two variants is a 1.5-litre turbocharged 3-cylinder petrol engine, while a more powerful 2.0-litre turbo four-pot is used for the MINI Cooper S and MINI John Cooper Works. The engines are tuned differently, depending on their application. All variants will use a 7-speed wet dual-clutch transmission, except the MINI John Cooper Works, which has a torque converter 8-speeder. Manual transmission for all the variants is an option in most markets, but it won’t be available officially in Malaysia. The only non-petrol variant is the MINI Electric 3 Door, which is known as the MINI Cooper SE 3 Door for the Malaysian market. Along with the electric hatch, only the MINI Cooper S 3 Door and MINI John Cooper Works are available here. There’s also a limited edition MINI John Cooper Works GP Inspired Edition for sale, although all the upgrades are merely cosmetic.

MINI 5 Door
RM 260,788
MINI 5 Door Overview Unveiled back in 2013, the MINI 5 Door became the third model in the English marque after the MINI Countryman and the MINI Clubman to offer rear doors since the company was acquired by BMW. Based on the iconic third generation MINI 3-door hatchback, the all-new MINI 5 Door measures in at 160 mm longer to accommodate the longer wheelbase to fit that extra pair of doors. Little has changed since its introduction and the sportier MINI Cooper S 5 Door is sole variant on offer in Malaysia today with a price tag starting from RM 260,788 (OTR inclusive ExtendedWarranty & ServicePackage). It is easily one the most expensive B-segment hatchback on offer in Malaysia today, far exceeding the price of the Renault Clio RS or the Volkswagen Polo GTi. At such a steep price point, it even rivals the likes of the Volkswagen Golf GTi and Ford Focus ST which sit in a higher vehicle segment.
